On my way to LA on the train for a very important weekend of meetings around the corner from the train station and I walked in for a simple eyebrow trim. Nothing too long or fancy. From the time I walked in I didn't feel welcome. I was told "they didn't have time." Really? You're open for business and you offer the service but, at least for me, you didn't have time??? I've never heard anything like this. I've heard "we're booked so can you come back or we can be ready in about 30 minutes" but never "we don't have time." The energy was off anyway. Vibe was not the best from the time I walked in. Maybe they do good work, but at least for me, for some unknown reason, they didn't "have time" to serve me and ya know what...I have no time to try them again but I didn't have time to write this review, but I made time for something important for potential customers to know. read more

I stopped here randomly on my way home from Encinitas to let traffic die down! It's tucked in a little plaza. There's plenty of parking. The nail shop itself is small and looks a little cluttered with food/drinks when you walk in. Otherwise there are about 4 chairs for manicures and 4 or 5 for pedicures. Staff were nice and accommodating. The person who did my nails took her time and did a pretty good job! It was $45 for a gel manicure, which is pretty decent especially for the area. I'm currently visiting on vacation and had my old set of nails fall apart while here. I searched for a nail salon to try and I am SO HAPPY I found Angeliz nails and spa. I called in the evening and they were able to get me in quickly. I had the pleasure of working with Angelina! She was so sweet and made great conversation during my appointment. She was not only quick but thorough with shaping my nails. I haven't had this great of a salon experience in quite a while. The prices were also very affordable for a dip nails with a design. There's no shortage of nail salons around, but finding a clean, reasonably priced one with friendly service and complimentary wine is a more challenging task. A friend recommended Angeliz Nails to me, so we decided to try it out without an appointment. We were greeted warmly and served immediately. The salon is well-staffed, clean, and bright. The massage chairs were comfortable and looked new, and the selection of nail polishes was impressive. All the nail technicians were friendly, chatty, and offered us beverages. Overall, it was a great experience. My pedicure was flawless, and the nail tech took her time, so I didn't feel rushed. Every nail technician at the salon is talented and detailed oriented. They are friendly but professional. They make sure you are happy with your nails before you leave the salon. I have my favorites but you can't miss with any of the technicians. And Helen is exceptionally good at any designs that you might come up with. UPDATE: My appointment was on 10/4. Today is 11/4. I haven't had time to get another mani but let me tell you I haven't had any peel at all! Typically, my gel manis begin peeling off around 10-14 days. I pick at my polish when concentrating which is why there are chips on the back. I cannot believe the amazing quality and service. Clean mani/pedi. The lady who did my pedi was extremely rude. She kept commenting on the way my feet looked, the way my nails were naturally shaped, that I missed spots shaving.. the list goes on. She kept criticizing every little thing she could find, and out loud so loudly. I wouldn't want her to do anything for me again. I randomly stumbled on this place about three months ago and was able to walk right in to get my nails done. Over the past few months I've been back every two weeks for a fill. The staff members are so friendly and take the time to remember the important things about the customers. They often ask about my son or how life is going. Kim is very detailed oriented and never leaves me disappointed with my nails. Each time they have been beautiful and professionally done. If I could give no stars I would. This was the worst dip manicure I've ever had. Spent $90 plus a tip, the inside was dirty with molding and leaking water inside the shop. I could have overlooked the inside and the employee who was screaming and complaining for the first 30 minutes I was sitting there, but the real issue is the nails, just awful work and spent a lot for really terrible thick and uneven shaped nails. Quite possibly the worst manicure I've ever had. My two sisters also had terrible manicures so I know it wasn't a one-off bad experience. I've been before and had just okay manicures, but this was the final straw and I won't be returning. She kept blaming the shape of my nails for the reason they looked bad. I've never had any complaints from a manicurist about my nails in the past. To top it all off, she had me pay before she painted (fine, standard) but then expected a tip before painting too. AND SHE TOLD ME I DIDNT TIP ENOUGH. I always pay and tip in cash as requested, so the bills I had available when I bumped the tip up ended up being a 27% tip... for the worst manicure I've ever had. She knew she blew it and just hustled me out the door vs trying to make it right. Came here for a pedicure and i wouldn't go back. It wasn't a very good pedicure overall. It felt like they were just trying to get it done and I had to ask for another coat because the polish looked super spotty and uneven. They said "oh it's because of the color you chose" but it was a light pink with some pigment. Regardless of the color, the coat of nail polish shouldn't look uneven. It wasn't a horrible experience but it was so/so. I wouldn't go back / wouldn't recommend this place for a pedicure. read more

Helen did my nails (standard pedicure)--followed my requests and kept checking with me on how I would like the thickness of my French tips which I really appreciated. They seemed really busy on a Thursday afternoon. I'm not sure if it was because I was a walk-in customer, but I felt very rushed through the whole service. They also forgot to turn on the massage chair for me and I couldn't find the remote to do it myself. There's free parking in the lot, and FYI there's a credit card fee. read more

Helen was detail oriented and even gave good suggestions on what nail shape to do. Went in for my appointment today and the first thing I was told was "I don't like doing your nails you're too picky" followed by "I may have to add you to the no service list because you take too long and you're too picky" followed by her laughing. I don't know if she was being serious, but I did not appreciate it and walked out. I then get a text afterwords asking if I want to keep my appointment . I am not going to say I'm not picky because I know I can be. Last time I was there I ended up replacing 2 nails because I wanted a certain design that didn't work out: I get it, it's crummy but what are you gonna do. I think it's unfair to get labeled picky when I'm constantly asked if I like my nails or not (even during my first visit). i feel that I am paying for a service and I want my nails to look nice so it shouldn't matter if I ask for something to be fixed. I was skeptical of the 5 star reviews because honestly, I had given up hope in finding a good pedicure place. So I only got a polish change because frankly I was tired of going for pedicures and them only painting my nails and dipping my feet in water but lying for a pedicure that truly never happened. Well, my sister got a pedicure and I assumed I would only have nail polish placed on my toes. Nope, Michelle made sure that my nails were even and my cuticles were pushed back. She made my toes look so beautiful and my sisters pedicure was perfect! Her nail technician, Kim carefully took great care of her and her injured foot. Kim told her that she had an ingrown nail and would take care of it and did a thorough pedicure and her feet look great too. Obviously the manicures are all over the pictures here, but this is by far the best nail salon in San Diego that I have been to (and I have been to a lot). I didn't mind waiting my turn I mean cmon it's a nail salon you should expect a lil wait especially if there's one nail tech in. I went to this place had an appointment for the 1st time to get my Mani-Pedi I'm 8 months pregnant when I got there I asked the lady at the front if I can use the restroom and very rudely she said NO And didn't even bother to ask me if I have an appointment or not...
