Before she came along, Winston was excessively pulling on the leash, barking at everything that moved, and unwilling to listen to any commands. After just a few classes, Winston can better control his behaviors and barks, as well as respond to commands! We just want an obedient dog, and that's exactly what Michelle has and is continuing to teach us and Winston how to get there. Michelle genuinely loves working with animals, and it reflects in our classes. We would sometimes go over our scheduled hour-long sessions, but she wouldn't mind because she wants to make sure we have all of our questions/concerns answered. If you got into an elevator with me and him, he would bark at you. Not in an aggressive way, more like who are you give me love kinda of way. He also loved to pull and drag me or whoever walked him around. I had already trained him with potty training, but was concerned that his behavior kept getting worse. My neighbor also has a German Shepherd and her dog is insane. She can barely control him and he's also super aggressive. My fear was that Ollie would wind up like that and that I'd have to give him up because I wouldn't be able to control him). After reading a lot of reviews, I contacted Abcs of Dog Training, and spoke to Michael. I was interested in the three week training. Michael was very clear and honest from the start. Seemed to know what he was doing. He agreed to come pick up Ollie. While away, Michael sent me updates. He taught him commands and socialized Ollie. Now when I take him for walks, Ollie never barks at anyone, not even at other dogs. The only time when he barks is when we are inside the home and there's someone approaching the door from the outside. He walks great on the leash, and listens to me. You have to keep on practicing the commands (heel, sit, leave it, lay down, stay, drop it, measure walk, and a few more). I'm extremely grateful for Michael and his training. Training was a bit expensive but so worth it. Michael also offers the two week follow up and is there for any questions you may have before and after the process.

She had someone come over last minute Sunday evening to meet us and our new puppy before Monday. Also, they're the only company that puts a magnetic barcode on your refrigerator and the walker checks in with their iPhone and checks out when the walk is over. Plus, you receive an email with the check ins etc and a detailed message about the walk, pictures of your dog and gps tracking of where the dog went on their walk. She is a shy, fussy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who takes a while getting used to new people. Knowing how nervous she is around anyone but me; it is such a joy to see her completely relaxed and happy whenever Mary Ellen rings the bell to take her for walkies! It really is a relief to know that there is someone I can fully trust to take care of my dog and that the dog is also having a fun time. Also, I know that the same person will be walking my dog everyday so walker and dog can build a relationship and the walker can get to know my dog's habits. For example, my dog will prefers to do her business on concrete than grass! I highly recommend Mary Ellen's 'Emergency Relief Breaks'. Basically, if you are stuck working late or don't want to leave a party early, then she will walk your dog late at night (I think this service is for regular customers)...such a life saver for the times I have had to work late to meet a deadline. Overall, my experience with A Dog Walk In the Park has been great. Thus, I am so grateful & relieved to know and trust Evelyn to be so gentle and careful with her, as well as so tasteful in styling her-- for 3 years now, my pup always looks darling, smells wonderful, and is (most importantly) happy and healthy leaving the salon. No small feat when working with a dog the size of the hair trimmer! I always appreciate Doggie Dearest being so accommodating with appointment times when I remember to schedule appointments somewhat last-minute (oops.. I'm sorry Evelyn!), and how prompt, professional, and organized she is in every interaction, remembering my haircut preferences for my pup, etc. Highly recommend!
