Hello! I wanted to kindly remind this business that it is illegal to perform "working interviews" without compensation. Working interviews are legally considered trial employment, which requires at least minimum wage. When asked by a prospective employee if this will be a paid trial, the owner responded to them saying that if that matters to them, the job probably won't work out. Aside from legally, that's pretty morally gross. Especially in the current job market. Nobody should be expected to work for free, even if that job involves hanging out with dogs! Dogs are great. We love our dog. We love him so much, we even feed him! Which is hard to do when being denied pay for labor. Just something for this business to consider changing moving forward, and maybe something prospective employees and clientele should be aware of. read more

We have been happy with how well cared for our dog is here. The videos are cute and we get regular updates. He has done fine during boarding. However, be prepared for a significant administrative burden and back and forth about vaccines and updated paperwork. Our dog has always been up to date on his vaccines, including the additional vaccines this place requires. But never have I had to spend so much time going back and forth uploading and re-uploading materials. And if something isn't updated? They send you a super long tutorial via WhatsApp that's 100% not helpful. This review was prompted by my most recent encounter in which we were adding a second dog to our account. Somehow a document from the first dog - who's been at the daycare for two years and whose paperwork was not touched when adding the second dog - came off the portal and the staff insisted I re-upload that as well. Obviously frustrating And any time I have offered feedback about the challenges with the portal, the staff fiercely defend the antiquated system and blame the customer. The joy of sending our dog here is thus diminished by the frustration with the paperwork and a faulty system. read more

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful ProspectBark is. It is truly the BEST daycare I've ever brought my dog to. The staff are incredible and so loving and caring to the dogs there. They are also extremely attentive and send pictures and videos of your fur baby throughout the day, which I appreciated so much. My one year old APBT has the best time at day care. We exclusively had them do walks for about 3-4 months, and now we send her to daycare 2-3x a week. My pup comes home tired and I know she's had fun. Their website for booking is a breeze. Chun-Soon has been meticulous and thorough with setting us up with Whats App communication and onboarding for our pup in daycare. She always answered our questions, and even hopped on the phone with us. The team is clear with their communication via whats app. I get photos and videos all day. You can honestly tell every member of the team loves my dog. I feel she is taken care of and actually watched thoroughly when at daycare and that means the world to me. We truly haven't had an issue- reported to us or unreported yet! I have no reason to expect there will be. The daycare itself is brand new (on 5th ave between 16th and Prospect)- it's large and beautiful. They clean it every day. It has no smell, and truly looks immaculate. They even have an outdoor space for them to play in! They have the areas sectioned off depending on dog temper/ vibes between pups/ etc. They play relaxing music all day and even have nap times. Background: Review is specifically for the dog walking service. I used thek for my 6 month old mini dachsund 2 times a week. I used ProspectBark for dog walking services, and it was quite messy. Chun Soon, the owner, was quick to resolve most issues I had, but there were always delays in following up. Even when I tried to sign up, the website makes you submit your info and I had to reach out to CS a few times to even set up a meet and greet and or to see if I was able to use them for my puppy. My first dog walker was apparently not my permanent one and while they were great and seemed to care about my puppy, they showed up 30 min late to one of the walks with no notice. My window was from 12 to 3 so even her showing up at 3 would be tough for my dog, but she showed up at 3:30. I have a 6 month old puppy so I really needed someone to let him out of his kennel, but the walker nor the manager ever reached out to me that day when the end of my window time was coming up. I had to call my walker, and when I was told their was an incident before causing the delay, they were still 30 more minutes late and I had to text again. CS was apologetic and didn't charge me for the walk. She then gave me a new walker who was not great. I have a puppy cam and I was able to see twice that he would bring my puppy in around 10, 15 min (I had a 30 min walk) of being outside and just sit on my bedroom floor on his phone and barely giving my puppy attention. Once I brought this to CS attention she was again helpful and not charging me, but she had made excuses for the walker saying they threw a lot on him since my last walker left. She also told me he was also temporary, which gave me some relief because I felt he didn't care about my dog. However, CS still requested I use him while letting me know another girl would be my walker after one more walk with the old one. My portal even showed a new walker, but suddenly CS was asking me how my walks went with the old one and telling me other dog parents loved him. My new dog walker was no longer since she was too busy so it felt like I was just stuck with someone who didn't do a great job. My original walker took time to meet me, ask about my puppy, and even did a trial walk. They also sent in depth updates, following my request to know if my puppy did well and pottied. The walker I didnt want said the same info each walk and it felt very for business response. I don't need them to he obsessed with my dog, but having a puppy who's learning meant I wanted someone who cared a little more. The next walk with the same walker was ok, he seemed to sit in front of my camera and show he was playing with dog at this point lol and then the next one he stayed outside the whole time. I had told CS I liked that my original walker spent time outside with my puppy since I'm gone all day and only booked the 30 min window. In that respect, at least CS told the walker what to do. CS is nice, but her responses are never when she says. Each time she said she'd call me a certain day I'd never recieve the call and would have to reach out to her. After this experience, I'm using a new service and would maybe go back to try daycare or grooming. Their dog walking service seemed spread thin, with changes in walkers and I felt like I was being pushed to use the walker I already had negative experiences with. I don't think this is an absolutely stay away from this business, but there were definitely too many cons for me to continue using them. read more

Avoid this dog daycare at all costs. There were at least four incidents where the daycare didn't accept responsibility for things that transpired. Two incidents included finding toy stuffing in his stool in the morning following daycare. One incident was upon full day of daycare pickup he had a patch of fur completely missing from above his eye. The last straw was when our puppy vomited a part of a crinkly stuffed toy that was at least four inches long and two inches wide. When you read the negative comments of this place, it all makes sense. Sadly, hindsight is only 20/20. I do not recommend this daycare for a pet you love. It will be all rainbows and butterflies when you don't encounter any problems but until you do, and when that day comes, you'd be wracked with guilt for sending your dog there. My question is how long would my dog have been unsupervised to be able to rip up and swallow a toy whole? If my dog hadn't have thrown it up the next morning, we wouldn't have known. Thank goodness it was thrown up and it didn't cause a blockage, but we were extremely stressed and on edge afterwards. We needed to take him to the emergency vet to make sure nothing else was wrong. Don't send your pet here, that's that. When there is a concern brought up, the owner has a passive aggressive attitude and subtly implies you the dog owner or even the dog is to be blamed. Please don't be fooled by all the positive reviews and all the great video and photo updates that are sent. If you love your dog, it should be simple, find an alternative. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about the care our dog Wrigley receives at ProspectBark! Wrigley pulls all the way there and then jumps on the gate and announces his presence. Chun-Soon and her team are some of the most knowledgeable, understanding, loving caretakers we could ask for. Wrigley is scared of the rain, so on a rainy day, she works with us to find a time to drop him off and pick him off. Like many dogs, Wrigley is scared of thunder; ProspectBark has a sound-protected downstairs area where they play dog calming music. When wildfire ash settled over Brooklyn, we sent Wrigley to ProspectBark because their ventilation is better than ours, and the team was careful to let the dogs out only as needed. She was really patient with him when he returned after they relocated and needed to "re-learn his manners" with other dogs. They are also SO RESPONSIVE and send many text updates with pictures and videos and specific info on his behavior, which is good for a crazy . The administration at this business is terrible to deal with. They missed major details when first setting up our service, then blamed us for the miscue and charged us extra for it. It felt like we were talking in circles about it, and it was all there in writing. Chun Soon, the owner, has a very rude, passive aggressive tone in all her communications. In a situation where a business should be making you feel comfortable with your service, she would rather win an argument about how she was right, then solve the problem. She is always right, the customer is always wrong. No business should be run this way. Especially one that is supposed to be caring for your pets. My husband and I have had Prospect Bark take care of our senior dog Clare for 2 years in Greenpoint. Their team, primarily Sam and Alexa, have been amazing taking care of her. We've been working with Andrew, dog walker extraordinaire, with ProspectBark since January. Andrew walks our (currently) 8 month old pup 4-5 days a week. For context, Rhuby is super sweet, but has a lot of energy to channel. She's about 45 lbs already, and loves to meet other dogs, people, and very much wants to watch all squirrels, cats, and birds. She can be *ahem* desperate to meet other dogs, and it can take some serious patience to take her on a walk in our neighborhood. She's been known to throw a tantrum if she can't meet another pup (sigh). Andrew is an incredible communicator. I never doubt that Andrew will give me the full run down, send pictures, updates, gifs, videos, anecdotes, all of it. I really can't believe he takes the time he does to share his experiences with Rhuby- it means the world to me. He is infectiously kind, patient, and loving. He is clearly committed to exposing Rhuby to situations that are good for her development. He sees the best in our pup. He's detail-oriented- even notices if we have particularly good treats from one week to another. As we changed collars, harnesses, raincoat, leashes, etc. as she grew bigger over the last few months- he's remembered it all and even offers helpful solutions/suggestions! When Rhuby hears the keys for Andrew, or honestly even the sound of the text that he's on his way, she sits up and wags her tail ready to see her best buddy. She adores him and obviously trusts him with her whole being- as do we. When we've had scheduling changes, requests, or cancellations- he's been so accommodating and generous. My dog is not good with new people and I totally understand that. He's a small 18 lbs, 1 year old, chihuahua mix who gets very scared when someone new comes into our apartment and approaches him. I get that. However, I was hoping with a professional business, that they would have the tools to deal with many different dog temperaments. He has never bitten anyone except when he thinks he's playing. He walked fine with the dog walker here for a month and suddenly started getting very scared of her and the walker felt threatened that he would bite her, so she wanted to stop service until I got help for my dog by meeting with the vet and a behaviorist. After being notified of this, the next morning I made a vet and behaviorist appointment. I have not seen any temperament changes in my dog, so I do not know exactly what to tell the behaviorists/vets, and I'm hoping ProspectBArk as a professional company can help consult with the behaviorists/vets and help solve my dog's anxiety - he's not a bad dog, but likely needs help. However, ProspectBArk then changes their mind, and refuses to work through my dog's issues. So they've left me without the resources to help my dog, but with the knowledge that he's not comfortable to use a dog walker at this time. I really need their accounts of their experience to best help my dog. I also want to reiterate what another commenter (Jake L.) wrote and completely completely agree: "Chun Soon, the owner, has a very rude, passive aggressive tone in all her communications. In a situation where a business should be making you feel comfortable with your service, she would rather win an argument about how she was right, then solve the problem." I have been a happy client of ProspectBark over the last three years and two apartments, and I cannot say enough good things about them. They've worked with us on short notice, offered to set us up with a lockbox during trips with strange departure/arrival plans, and even lugged a 40 lb. box of cat litter into our apartment when our pre-holiday planning wasn't a 10/10. I've been using ProspectBark for probably 8 years or so to care for my dog. I've consistently had caring, conscientious walkers who have been very respectful and mindful of both my dogs needs, as well as my home. The best aspect of having a walking service like this is the layers of care. If my regular walker is sick, or on vacation, there is an immediate backup available, who also knows my dog and knows what his needs are. I think it's such a significant advantage over an individual walker. If a new walker takes over my route, they make sure to do a knowledge transfer and intro for the new person. The owner of the business, as well as regional route managers, are all within easy reach with the group chat and someone will always respond to questions or concerns quickly. I am very disappointed to write this given my lengthy tenure (customer since 2013) and overall positive experience with ProspectBark. After many years of steady weekly, booked walks, my service needs were changed and I began to use the service on a as needed basis (about once a month for the most part). Last month, I needed a walk for my pup and booked one online. The next morning I noticed that the walker is not who I was expecting, so I canceled because the thought of someone I had never met enter my apartment gave me more anxiety than the thought of my pup holding his bladder. Almond would not take well to a new person entering our space and quite frankly, I get, respect and admire that about my pup. The next day I emailed inquiring if Damian, who had been walking Almond for many years, was still with the company. I did not hear back. So a good 30 hours after that, I emailed again expressing my desire to discontinue service with ProspectBArk and asking how to go about getting my key back. That was over a month ago. Today I reached out to Damian directly, since I never heard back, and heard that he has amicably parted with ProspectBark. I can't help but wonder if that is why I never heard back? With a new puppy, it takes a village. Chun-Soon and her team made me feel like I wasn't completely crazy for getting a puppy. She is extremely kind and was willing to talk through and sort out all of my puppies needs, and thought of things that I didn't. My walkers Tom and Lori are great! and Cleo loves them! We have a group chat on whatsapp to stay in touch, and an online portaI to make schedule changes easily. I love the post walk photos that I get too!! Would definitely recommend them. Been using ProspectBark for several years now with two different dogs. With out first dog, we had a few different walkers over the years and they were all really friendly, reliable and helpful - walking, giving meds and taking awesome pics. (One even gave us an adorable photo-collage for the holidays!) Our current dog is quite anxious and barks a lot when they enter, but Tina is so calm and caring, and really takes care of her.
