I have been going to Angelo's Barbershop for over 45 years. Have had great regular barbers cut my hair. The price has been $27.00 for a while. Joe had been cutting my hair for a while now, but apparently quit and returned. Meanwhile I was happy with the other barbers who stepped in to cut my hair. Once Joe returned, and he was busy cutting others hair on a prior visit. I just took the next available barber, "Junior". Junior did a great job! Today Joe was the first available to cut my hair. He charged me $30.00! When I asked him why it was $30.00, he responded the price at the shop has gone up. I later called and Franco answered. I asked how much for a walk in regular haircut, he responded $27.00. I quickly called back and Joe answered. I asked him why he charged me $30.00, his response was " because that's the price, are you going to bust me balls over 3 dollars? Is that It?" I responded yes that's it, I will not be coming back to Angelo's again" Joe's response CLICK and he hung up. I am old school, I like going to the same barbershop (45 years +). Junior is great, but I like to walk in, I am not a make appointment making kind of guy for a haircut. Sad to say but I have to find a new barbershop, and let me say there are many to choose from. Wow...I have been going to Angelos in Canyon Country for years now with my son. I have to tell you they have some of the best barbers in the SCV, but the experience overall gets this location a five star. Both my son and I know that when we get our haircuts our phones better be charged because we are in for a wait. The barbers take their time so we expect it and are okay with it. However, Friday, 04/13 we needed to get haircuts. Having moved to "Awesome-town" recently we are closer to the location in Newhall. So we drove over and were there in only a few minutes. Located in the corner of a strip center, parking was okay and not hard to find the location using GPS. We walked in to have two barbers immediately direct us to the chairs, sat down got our haircuts and were out the door in less than 15 minutes....what the what...! I think both my son and I were floored because of the lack of wait time. My barber, Mike, hmmm where have I heard that name, did a great job and we talked about days gone by. My son, got his cut by another guy and said he didn't say a word...just like he wanted...haha. I live about over an hour away but it is very worth my drive. I highly recommend my barber Junior! He has great artistic skills and really over delivers. It is truly hard to find barbers and hair stylist with the dedication and skills like his! He is very detailed oriented and very well organized. I have been going to Mike at this location since 2004 (16 years!). Absolutely perfect haircut everytime, no issues ever. Not only is the haircut perfect, but Mike (and everyone at Angelo's) are super friendly and very patient. Mike now cuts my son's hair as well as my own. Even though we live in Burbank now, we have no problem making the drive up to Newhall to see Mike. I make sure to visit frequently because it is not often that you find a service that gets things right every single time. The vibe was cool, and overall the cut was alright, but my barber completely lined my beard up wrong. They didn't ask how I wanted it shaped, and ended up giving me some straight edges when I usually like having it shaped another way. I just moved into the area and had been to this shop 2 or 3 times. There is a older gentleman that works at the second chair in that is very good at his job and gave me very nice haircuts.( I think his name is Franco) Last time I went in, Franco was not there so I decided to try the Hispanic gentleman that has the first chair when you walk in. I always ask for a low taper fade and even showed him a photo of what I get. it was by far the worst haircut I've ever got. My wife cut my hair during the lockdowns and did much better. He gave me a 2 on the sides no fade, just like a undercut and brought it up wayyyy high. Then whatever hair I had left on top was so uneven I feel like it was done on purpose. I was told by him that I have a lot of swirlies which I've never heard about or seen in the last 30 years I've been alive. I was shaking when I left and immediately went to a place called kranium on main st. There was a girl in there that took me in and was appalled at the cut I received and payed for. She said it was the laziest hair cut she has seen and was able to semi salvage it so I at least didn't have to shave my head. Beware of the Hispanic guy in the first chair. Seems like he doesn't want to be there and just rushes through cuts. I had to pay almost triple the cost of a normal cut that day. read more

I get my hair cut here every two weeks. I've gotten cuts by all the barbers here at one point, and they all give really good cuts. You can't go wrong with any of them. But if you want a GREAT cut, you need to go to Junior in the back chair. I have super thick, difficult hair, but no cut is too hard for Junior. He always leaves me looking fresh. read more

Stopped by the shop today for a cut from Mike who I've been going to for 15 years and was told by one of the barbers that Mike 'retired' and he could cut my hair. Mikes a friend so I texted him and found out he's actually at a new shop in town. Felt like the other guy was trying to get Mike's clients by saying he retired, rather than just saying he was at a different shop. Very happy with my Saturday morning cut from Franco. I am new to Santa Clarita and came hear last minute on a Saturday morning and was able to get a cut right away. First I was going to go to Apollo's because they have over 100 reviews, they said they accepted walk ins, and they were open 9am on a Saturday but when I got there only one person was there getting cut and all the other chairs were open and I was told that I couldn't get a cut until Monday because they were fully booked. That defeats the purpose of a walk in so rather than making an appointment, I called up Angelo's and asked straight up "if I walk in right now can I get a hair cut?" And I was told "of course, we have tons of barbers here that would love to cut your hair." Boom just like that I found my new spot. Although you might be skeptical about the virus, Angelos takes your temperature before cutting your hair and they require masks. If you get a chance to stop by, make sure you get your hair cut from Joe. He's the man with the plan and he works Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Walked in for a cut and bread trim. When explaining what I would like I was told that he had a 2pm appointment. It was 1:45. He said he could not do the beard trim and that he could quickly get the cut in. I do not trust any one to cut my hair in 15 minutes. If you don't have time then do sit me. read more

My hair has a tendency to stand up if it is cut short, but Mike is great at finding that sweet spot... with my hair... Usually go to apollos but I wanted to save 5$ for a simple shave of the sides for an undercut so I thought they could handle it. Whinn rushes his customers and when he's cutting like he's not even looking where he's shaving. Finished 2 customers in the time other barbers in the store did 1. It shows in his work, he cut into my hairline and it is noticeably crooked now. I like to show off my haircuts after I get one it this time I'll be sporting hats and beanies until it grows back. Rather get the quality time and effort that they actually show you they care at apollos for the extra 5$. Not coming back. Edit* Appreciate the effort to compensate.
