I don't live in Lima anymore and was able to get an appointment on a recent trip home. Steven is as great as ever and there are few people that I trust to tell them to do whatever they want - and he is one of them. I always love the cut and style and he really listens to what I am looking for and how much work I'm willing to put in (or not) in terms of keeping up with my hair. Always a pleasant experience at a very reasonable price - my shampoo, haircut and style was less than $40!

My grandson received a horrible haircut!!!!…read more Requested style: fade A fade was requested, and a picture was provided to show what the fade should look like. It wasn't until he got home that we realized that a fade wasn't given. Instead, the hair was buzzed very short, up high on the back and sides. There was no fading at all. He was embarrassed to be seen with this cut because it wasn't what he'd asked for, and his friends at school joked and teased him about how bad it looked. His hair is curly on top, and the back part of his perm was cut unevenly. I had to take him to another stylist to even it out and try to salvage the style. Honestly, not much could be done by the second stylist because too much hair was buzzed in the back and sides. Essentially, his hair was buzzed high up in the back and sides. It looks like a military buzz cut, high up in the back and sides, as you would receive in boot camp. With his heavy curls on top, it looks like an uneven bowl cut on top. I'm very disappointed and will never return to or recommend this establishment to anyone. **** I noticed the owner tried to say that this was a Bot post. Sadly, they are trying to dismiss this post as being generated instead of being a genuine post. It was completely constructed in a very unprofessional manner. My 14-year-old grandson, who went to the hair salon alone because my husband just passed away, did not realize how horrible the haircut actually was until he arrived home. Upon his arrival home, I was able to see and show him with a mirror how horrible the haircut was. I then had to make an appointment to pay another stylist at another salon to fix the disaster that the hairstylist at Black Lace Hair Salon created. The hairstylist that we took him to, in order to fix the style and correct the mess that was made, stated that this was one of the top five worst haircuts that they had ever seen. The owner of Black Lace Hair Salon can try to dismiss this post and try to make it out as being a Scam post or a Bot post all that they would like. However, this is a genuine post. All together, when you add up what I paid for the first haircut and then what I paid to have the other stylist to do the best they could to correct the mistakes made, the entire ordeal ended up costing me $80. The haircut he received at this salon negatively affected my grandson's self-esteem, it was a completely unacceptable salon experience. The mature thing would be to accept responsibility for their mistake and move forward responsibly. However, it seems as though they are more concerned with trying to dismiss this legitimate Review and sweep it under the rug. *** (To clarify, in case some were wondering, the Hair Salon knew ahead of time that I was sending my grandson there by himself. This is completely out of character for her, but she knew they weren't what she knew they were awful There were multiple issues with the set:* Several nails were not applied close to the cuticle, making them look grown out immediately.* One nail was noticeably misshapen and asymmetrical.* The French tips were uneven in both thickness and shape.* The smile lines were inconsistent from nail to nail.* The nail shapes were inconsistent across the set.* The pinky was painted the wrong color.* After removing the incorrect color, it left a noticeable blue tint on the pinky, yet the technician continued instead of correcting the stained nail, as you can see in the photos.* Polish was left on the surrounding skin in several areas.* Some nails were much thicker and bulkier than others. After we left, my daughter told me one of her cuticles had been bleeding until she washed her hands. I didn't mention it while we were there because I didn't know until we got to the car. She also said several of her other cuticles were sore. Because the nails would have needed to be completely redone, we offered to simply have them removed so we could have them fixed elsewhere. Instead, we were told, "You have to pay something, and it's $50." We paid $50 for a set that had to be completely redone less than 24 hours later. I'm hoping the owner simply didn't have the chance to see the nails up close the way we did. After reviewing the photos, I hope you'll agree the quality of the work was unacceptable and refund the $50 we were charged.

The…read morefirst person I had cutting my hair here kept telling me I had to pay more for a haircut because it is curly hair, it's wavy on a good day. Also why do people with curly hair have to pay so much more? That's ridiculous. Charge per hour if you want to play that game. I had to fight the girl every dang time I got a haircut. The second person I went with didn't know how to cut hair and talked about how she hated cutting hair. At this point I just cut my own hair. As for the store part, it's alright. The prices are good if there is a sale. It has a good variety and most of the time the staff is helpful. The place is usually pretty clean too.
