Truth be told, I'd had a terrible morning the day of our photoshoot. I had been crying and felt drained. There was a part of me that wanted to back out of the session and crawl into bed. But, I know how hard Angie works to put together her shoots, and because she's in such high demand, combined with my busy schedule, it would be a while before we could set up a new date. Leading up to the photo shoot, I was nervous! I spent days trying to figure out outfits, locations and ways to pose- all for it to be seamlessly executed by Angie Capri. I was concerned about how and where I was going to be posing, will the weather be what I need it to be, and what if I don't like the photos? All the stress and worry, was all for not. As soon as we had our initial phone consult, I felt better. I instantly felt like I was in good hands, and had nothing to worry about. We planned for a fun day of branding photos for my business, and the anxiety and stress melted away immediately upon meeting Angie! I am in love with the photos from my baby shower in Mill Valley that my sister put on, Angie was our photographer! My sister surprised my boyfriend and I with a maternity photo shoot before the baby shower- so happy/excited. Right off the bat Angie put my boyfriend and I at ease with her fun and sweet personality. She has an amazing eye, she spotted a really cool looking fence with moss that made for a great back drop for some photos. We didn't have a whole lot of time so her finding that so quickly on our walk to a local park was awesome. The poses she had us doing were great too, natural and photographed really well. The next set of photos were taken in another really cool spot that after she edited looked SO enchanted. She knew exactly how to have us pose so we looked natural but also looked good! I'm really happy with how these photos turned out. Really amazing. She got a few shots of us walking into the baby shower that my sister put on. Seriously I was blown out of the water, this shower was NUTS in a good way. Amazing decor. Champagne bar, mashed potato bar (I have been craving mashed potatoes like crazy), s'more bar and cake pops, cheese and fruit platters. An amazing scrapbooking station to take Polaroid photos and make a page. ALL of these things were photographed by Angie so we have the memories of everything that was at the shower. She took shots of me with family members, my friends, and every beautiful back drop possible was taken advantage of by Angie which I know my sister who just moved to her home in Mill Valley appreciated that. I was lucky enough to have our photos taken by the incredible Angie Capri and I could not have been more thrilled with the experience and results. I own a spa and wellness center that recently moved to Pleasant Hill and I have a total of 10 therapists who I like to promote via emails and on our website, usually with a brief biography and a photo. We were pretty nervous before our couples boudoir photo shoot. It was something I wanted to do for a while, but kept putting it off because it was so outside my comfort zone. I felt nervous even talking to a photographer about it. We met Angie at a wedding she was photographing, we quickly saw how great she was and how comfortable she made everything feel. As soon as I had the consultation with Angie for our boudoir shoot, my anxiety started to shift to excitement. She is so warm and engaging that it feels like your best friend is going to be hanging out, and just happens to have a camera. The first part of our shoot took place at a yoga studio, the second part took place in our home, both located in Oakland. We intended to practice our athletic/yoga poses more in advance of the session, but time got away from us. We felt elevated in our connection by spending the day together like that, in such an intimate and unique way. As everyone knows, a wedding photographer is key to every wedding because that one day can go by so fast that you can't remember quite every moment. Being a wedding coordinator, I found it really hard to plan my OWN wedding, including hiring our own vendors. One reason I had a hard time was because how do we choose? I know so many vendors styles and prices, how do I pick just one?! We live in California, but we always knew our wedding would take place in Hawaii. Her email correspondence included an abundance of helpful information, FAQs, helpful tips, and things to think about before our consultation; which all made the consultation more efficient. When it came down to the day of the shoot, Angie was prompt, and of course, provided me with great timeline for the day and even considered the fact that I would need to take a break to rest, eat, and stay hydrated. She was very professional, fun, and bubbly as always. She made what could easily be an uncomfortable or vulnerable situation a very easy and comfortable one. Her enthusiasm is contagious which also assisted in easing any nerves I had that day. She was great at posing me in flattering ways and also helping me to perfect the perfect "relaxed face". I left the shoot feeling very confident that the photos would be perfect...and they were! When it came time for the reveal, it was so nice to be able to sit down and view all the images as well as the draft album she had put together. She was very thoughtful in the composition of each shot and in the photos that she selected for the album. Once we had gone through everything, she gave me time to look through it all again and see if I would like to switch any of the images she had chosen for the book. I actually thought it was perfect the way she did it, and didn't request any changes. I received my digital images shortly after our reveal meeting, and the album just a couple of weeks later. As a wedding planner I work with many photographers, but when it came to taking my maternity photos I knew Angie was the photographer who would capture the look I was aiming for. Though I had concerns about the weather the day before, Angie assured me that regardless of the weather she would capture beautiful pictures... The day of our shoot it was chilly and cloudy, but sure enough the photos turned out incredible and now I wouldn't change anything. After meeting and getting to know Angie and her work during many of our women's community workshops, (while it was out of my comfort zone but also exciting to try something new), I knew it be fun to work with her for a boudoir session. And it certainly was! Angie provides a safe, warm and welcoming presence, and cozy boudoir studio location in the East Bay. We laughed all day and was I tired afterwards from being a model for a day. Those poses are more work than you might expect, but completely worth it!! I do recommend planning ahead of time as Angie suggests. Don't wait until the last minute. She'll help sort and choose the best items you bring with you to the shoot, and she also has wardrobe on hand to mix and match with. Then you can sit back, relax, play and have fun! I met Angie in September 2012 at a Brandy & Vinca 3-day Client Success event with a couple of hundred people in attendance. In March of 2013, I returned for another 3-day Client Success event and was asked by Brandy and Vinca to speak as part of their Client Success Panel. Angie was the photographer. Her business had grown and she announced that she was having an open house in May at a new studio in Concord. Wanting to support someone starting a new business, I attended and signed up for a 30-minute portrait session at a special Mother's Day package introductory rate. I chose Angie Capri to shoot our fall family photos in Concord. I wanted a photographer that could capture what a day out is like with me, my husband and our one year old daughter and I didn't want a lot of "posed" photos. I looked and looked on yelp and found from her reviews that her clients truly loved not only the end product but loved working with her. So I started stalking her website and thought that everything posted was unique and beautiful. When I saw a quote from her that said she was allergic to fake smiles and cheesy photos, I was sold! Angie is simply amazing. I went to Angie to get portraits done just because. I had no real idea on what I wanted except that I wanted the beach and my Giants jersey. Angie and I chose to go the beach in SF but Mother Nature had other plans. Angie had arrived about 30 minutes before I got there, When I arrived she and I agreed it wouldn't be a good idea to shoot at the beach. She had already thought/looked up going across the street to Golden Gate Park. When we arrived there she went off hunting for the perfect spot. She did indeed find us an amazing spot. Title: Honoring Myself at Age 50 I have always avoided people taking pictures of me, and friends would even notice and question why, I returned with no photos of myself, while traveling on vacation. The reason is that, I focus on my flaws and imperfections, just as most women do (I'm learning). It's to the point, that I even feel anxiety when looking at photos of myself, my close friends and family tell me are beautiful. I was so hesitant, that it took me a year to schedule and follow through with my photoshoot, I was terrified on the inside. Photography is important to us because it can capture a moment in time that you would like to relive over and over. Real genuine moments. Working with Angie allowed us to do just that. I was seeking a new professional headshot for my business, website and social media (my current one's 10 years old)! If I could give Angie more than 5 stars I would! Not only am I in love with her talent, I am in love her personality even more. We chose Angie to photograph our wedding, but, this past year, she has become more than a photographer to us, she has become a dear friend. We originally chose Angie because of her bubbly personality and knew she would be a great fit for our fun and rambunctious crowd at the wedding. Although we originally hired Angie to photograph our wedding, I also decided to give my new husband a Boudoir album as his wedding gift. What I didn't realize is how fun the experience would be for me personally. Angie's level of professionalism and artistic view made it so much fun. We did a vintage 1940's pin-up theme and she walked me through each step making me feel more comfortable and beautiful as the day went on. My husband was so surprised and shocked that I did this shoot. We had so much fun at the Boudoir shoot, Angie offered to do our engagement photos as well. Keeping with the theme of 1940's, we did a vintage inspired picnic. Once again Angie delivered with flying colors. Our wedding day came, and at that point both my husband and I were so comfortable in front of her camera, the photographs that day came out so natural and special. We got married in Lake Tahoe, NV at Edgewood Golf Course. Angie drew inspiration from the rustic scenery surrounding our venue. After my fiance and I got engaged, we began our search for a photographer. We were looking for someone personable and unique. Sadly, all of the photographers we met, tried to sell us cookie cutter ideas. When we met Angie Capri, of Sexy in Her Skin, in our consultation, we warmed up to her bubbly personality right away. We had so much fun brainstorming ideas to tell the story about how we first met, and the significant moments of our relationship! Needless to say, we hired Angie right away after our appointment. Before the shoot, Angie sent us an email with suggestions for our indoor (in our house) and outdoor shoot at Tilden Park. I am not used to picking out cloths or doing my makeup for a photoshoot, and Angie even helped in those areas.
