Wow! How lucky are we to have such an authentic and purist restaurant in our midst! So, from the outside the place looks scruffy and unassuming. My 17 yr old son slides me a glance which speaks volumes and questions what we are doing here and Mum have you dropped your standards around your ankles? Well, this was recommended to us and I am always a tad reticent about recommendations.
However, let me tell you, I can smell the whiff of sauces out of a packet or pre made paste at a distance of 5kms!
The service wasn't fast and I had to keep a lid on myself!
However, when the food arrived it was clear that each dish is made and prepared individually. All ingredients were totally fresh and all flavours were totally authentic.
Yung and his lovely wife Chin (actually they were both lovely) totally run the show and Chin rushed around at top speed serving everyone while Yung could only be heard in the background with that seductive shuffle of a deft hand on the Wok!
The food was the best Thai food I have had in Australia, including eating in restaurants in most of the CBD's.
Just the first mouthful took me straight back to Bangkok, and there I stayed for the whole meal.
I did my usual Loo inspection which meant walking through their open kitchen and I was impressed with the cleanliness of both.
I just cannot begin to describe the authenticity of the food and its flavours. I am at a loss as to what more to tell you other than to go a little out of your way to get there and be totally blown away gastronomically!
The portions were more than generous and the price was ridiculously low. read more
