We signed the contract in Dec 2024, got the permit in February, and they started work. I thought it would be finished before I international trip abroad in May, but they dragged it out until 7/14 for substantial completion . They mismeasured the patio at the start. After the (overseas) materials finally arrived half a year later, the size was wrong. They even had to cut into my wall to remove the builder's pre-installed camera. The concrete shows severe discoloration--blotchy patches from dark gray to chalky white, streaks, and mismatched pours that make the surface look hideous . When I tried to negotiate repairs for the concrete, plants, and light strip, they went and recorded a mechanic's lien on my house--for the last $1,000 that hadn't been paid. What disgust me the most was their attitude: they refused responsibility and blamed the concrete supplier they themselves hired. Instead of fixing the problem, they targeted me as the homeowner and, in my view, filed a baseless $1,000 mechanic's lien using distorted information was absurd and seemed aimed at humiliating and disgusting the homeowner. Overall, a deeply frustrating experience marked by poor workmanship and what I consider negligence and abuse of the mechanic's-lien process. A reminder to anyone considering working with Dreamland Builders: don't be fooled by the project manager's sweet talk. Make sure your contract clearly states the project timeline, and exactly what the warranty covers. What I find unprofessional is requesting information from a potential customer and then choosing not to respond at all, even after multiple attempts to follow up. Customers shouldn't have to chase a business just to find out whether they intend to take the job. I would have had no issue with them declining the work. My issue is entirely with the lack of communication and basic courtesy. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company if timely and professional communication is important to you.
