When we were off Medi-Cal once we were working again, we rearranged picking our entire new plan based on making sure we could keep Dr. Deronian. If I suddenly became insanely wealthy, this is still the place I would insist upon!! Inside the office is not only clean but also chic and calming, more akin to spa vibes than dental office. The women who work here are the loveliest souls; they truly make my day better by being their sweet selves. If only all my errands were staffed by angels like this!!! Unfortunately, I had a very similar experience. I have consistently gone to the dentist every six months for cleanings and have never been told I had significant gum issues. At my previous dental visit six months ago, I was told my teeth looked great and only needed a routine cleaning. Suddenly, at this office, I was told I was borderline between gingivitis and early periodontal disease, had bone loss and needed a deep cleaning and additional treatments. When I declined the deep cleaning, I was initially told they did not have time to give me a regular cleaning because they normally don't do X-rays and cleanings at the same appointment. I have never encountered that before. I had already been there for nearly two hours and was adamant that I was not leaving without at least having the routine cleaning I came in for. They eventually agreed to do it, but I felt a noticeable change in the attitude toward me afterward. As I was leaving, I was again asked when I wanted to schedule the deep cleaning, and I declined. The fact that my experience was so similar to what multiple other reviewers described was extremely concerning to me. I can't speak to the office's intentions, but the experience left me questioning whether the additional treatment being recommended was truly necessary or whether insurance billing and additional services were playing a role. It was a very disheartening and bizarre experience, especially as a new patient looking for a dentist I could trust. I will be getting a second opinion elsewhere, and I will not be returning.
