For example, at my most recent visit he explained the bacteria colonies that live in our mouths and how they connect to broader health issues, and talked about different tooth shapes and what they can indicate, pointing out some positive characteristics of my own teeth in a way that felt thoughtful and professional. You can tell he's deeply intellectually curious, and that curiosity somehow makes the whole experience feel lighter and more human. I have seen quite a few dentists over my time and have had ALOT of work done. I had not yet found a dentist who was honest, highly competent, and 100% trustworthy until I met Dr Cho. Fast forward to today, I have been lucky to have been a patient of Dr Cho's for a number of years and my teeth have never been better. I have been a patient of Dr Cho for more than four years and I can attest that he takes great care of his patients overall. I'm in my 70s and have gone through a lost of dentists in my day. Dr. Brian Cho ranks as one of the best, if not THE best! First of all, like so many modern dentists, he is fully adept at making one's dental experience 100% pain-free, including, and especially, the injection of local anesthesia prior to drilling. His office is clean and friendly, and I look forward to returning every 6 months for my cleaning an inspection. For complicated things such as root canals and implants, Dr. Cho is in contact with the best available specialists. Dr. Cho is friendly, and he treat his patients with dignity. I was referred to Dr Cho & my wife setup the appointment for me. I arrived at 2:00p for a 2:00p appointment. Apparently that was a huge, unforgivable mistake, because the front desk receptionist was very rude to me. She first looked at the clock and said "we asked you to come early, your appointment is at 2:00p and we need you to complete this form". I completed the form and she said she couldn't verify my insurance, said she would need to call them, as she looked at the clock a second time and said 'this is why we asked you to arrive early'. I showed her my plan documents & virtual insurance card, she took a look and read through the docs for a few minutes and said 'sorry it's not coming up for me in our system, there's no match'. I apologized and asked what the concern was, that I don't have insurance? She said yes, because she couldn't confirm it I'd need to pay out of pocket. I again apologized and said I guess she would need to call my insurance to verify. She had no intentions to call and verify though, she looked at the clock a third time and said 'you'll have to pay out of pocket, see this is why we ask you to come early so these things don't happen'. I said 'ok, I'm not paying out of pocket when I've shown you my insurance and plan and you can call to verify'. She said 'your appointment was at 2:00 and now our next appointment is at 2:30p, but you'll have to pay out of pocket. Next time I won't accept a referral to a dentist that shares a 7eleven parking lot. I honestly have empathy for Dr Cho though, to have front desk staff turning away patients seems like the opposite of what a business owner wants. Good luck! read more

Receptionist was very clear that they only take cash and high-end insurance. When I confirmed that I had PPO insurance, they were very willing to hear what I needed. When asked about my last x-rays I confirmed that I had a recent implant done and that the office would have x-rays available. That turned into questions about "Oh, you don't have any money left on your insurance then. How much do you have left?", etc. No thank you. Shady as their parking lot sounds. read more

I became a patient of Dr. Cho's dentistry clinic 3 years ago after receiving the best cleaning I've experienced in LA. Okay, the place is located in the bumper car capitol of the world, Glendale, and the clinic looks sketch nestled next to a 7-11 and nail salon, but those are the only marks against it. Both Dr. Cho and his staff are super professional, friendly, and great at their work. They take the time to talk to you about your oral health and show genuine concern. On my most recent visit, I had to have a crown installed to fix a cracked tooth. While waiting for the appointment, my cracked tooth advanced to a partial break. Additionally, my temp crown popped out after a few days. In both situations Dr. Cho was quick and reactive to helping get things fixed. When it comes to my teeth, I have immeasurable trust in both Dr. Cho and his staff. read more

Love Dr. Cho but do not love his new payment policy. Earlier this year, he decided to drop out of all insurance networks. Now, you need to pay for your appointment up front and they will bill your insurance. Once his office receives a reimbursement, they in turn will reimburse you. I don't understand this new policy or why it's come to this but who has $1,000 lying around for a root canal AND probably get refunded in 4 months. It's a real shame. read more

It makes me so sad to write this review for Dr. Cho. I have been going to Dr. Cho for dental care for over 8 years now, but I have stopped going to Dr. Cho. His office just informed me that he has dropped out of ALL insurance networks, including PPO and Premier, and that means I'll be paying out of pocket and submitting the claim to Delta myself after the visit. I immediately called Delta Dental to find out what's going on, and they told me they have been accepting claims from dental offices as usual. I reached out to another dental office near me, and they told me they were fine with accepting Dental PPO plans. I called the front office at Dr. Cho's dental office to inquire about the decision, and they were rude and didn't want to elaborate on the reasons for dropping out of insurance plans. The best! Everyone gets individualized care with Dr. Cho and the experience is as painless as any I've ever received from a dentist (for you chickens out there). He/his staff works with you to handle financing and he's an all-around cool guy. I used to dread going to the dentist as my experiences before Dr. Brian Cho have been subpar. I found Dr. Cho around 9 years ago via word of mouth, and I have been very satisfied. The location seems very unassuming in an open corner strip mall with a 7-11 and various small businesses; not the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but you can't judge a book by its cover. The practice inside looks like it has been frozen in time of what dentists offices looked like in the 1990's with paper records and appointments made in an appointment book, but the place feels nostalgic. I have heard that they are finally digitizing their system. The receptionist staff is very amicable and professional. Dr. Cho himself is very easy going and soft spoken; quite knowledgeable in a variety of topics. When he is doing a procedure, he keeps you at ease by talking about various interesting topics. Dr. Cho clearly explains the situation, at least for me, and gives you options and alternatives if needed; I have never felt pressured to do unnecessary procedures or x-rays unless needed. The dentists I have been to before Dr. Cho have always seemed more like shady used car salesmen than dentists. Most of my appointments have been routine cleanings, and for those procedures, my hygienist has been Sue, who has been great. She is meticulous and does a good job; a decent and funny conversationalist as well. read more

I have had swollen gums for a long time and every time I went to the dentist they would constantly ask me if I flossed. I must admit I have an addiction to flossing. I floss so much, I can not fall asleep without flossing, you get the picture now. The first time Dr. Cho saw me he knew something wasn't right and didn't blame it on flossing! He explained possibilities of what might be going on. (I had read that he explains things step by step in a yelp review, and its true, you feel so comfortable) I have been to 3 dentist in my life. Dr. Cho, another dentist, and my uncle. When my uncle stopped practicing I got scared I would never find a great dentist again. Let me tell you Dr. Cho is simply the best. He makes you feel that comfortable and takes that great care of you, it's like your family. The office staff is so friendly and helpful. When I tell people about going to Dr. Cho I can't stop smiling, because I get so excited I found the best dentist! Also you don't have to sit in the lobby forever or in the chair waiting. They make a point to get you in and out in time. I don't want to make anyone jealous but Dr. Cho even did my first cleaning, because the client before me was running late and the hygienist was pushed back because of that. For the last 15 + years, my family has been under the dental care of Dr. Brian Y. Cho. During that period, I have never failed to pay whatever amount Dr. Cho's dentistry has been charging for dental services rendered. As a result, when Dr. Brian Y. Cho recommended that I pay a visit to Root Vision Dentistry in Glendale for a simple root canal, I followed his advice without question. What was supposed to be a simple root canal ended up nearly killing me because one of Dr. Fariborz M. Bardi's dentists injected me with too much anesthesia and thereafter left me unattended. To make matters worse, I later learned (after nearly dying) that Dr. Bardi still had the audacity to claim a total of $1,577.00 with my dental insurance for doing literally nothing; and Delta Dental ended up compensating him a total amount of $1,336.20. After filing a grievance on June 26, 2018 with Delta Dental, Dr. Bardi finally returned a partial payment but still owes me a total of $272.00; however, he has been adamantly refusing to return the remaining amount he charged even though he performed no services on me other than nearly overdosing me with anesthesia. Had I not stopped the dental procedure in time, I would have died. Thanks to Dr. Brian Cho, I have been suffering physically and mentally. Consequently, I did talk to Dr. Cho to waive a copayment of the dental operation. And he has agreed to relinquish the remaining copayment. Lastly, I did provide all of the necessary documents from Delta Dental to Jenny in Dr. Cho's dentistry back in June 2018; however, I have not heard anything about Dr. Bardi's exorbitant dental charges based upon no services rendered. Again, unfortunately, Dr. Bardi has still failed to return my money in the amount of $272.00 thus far. So, please talk to Dr. Brian Y. Don't even bother calling. I called over a month ago to get an appointment. I'm a new patient looking for a cleaning and exam. The receptionist wouldn't even make an appointment for me and only put me on the waitlist. I got a call a couple of weeks ago asking if I can come in the same day (on a Thursday) at 4 PM. My visits to the dentist have always been unpleasant. Even if just for a cleaning, growing up I've had my share of dentists and none of them can begin to compare to Dr. Cho. I'm knocking off a star not because of Dr. Cho or his services but because of reception. The receptionist is hard to understand and communicate with but I eventually made my appointment and was all set to go. My first visit to his office was about a year and a half ago. Dr. Cho was pleasant, friendly, and easy to talk to. He examined my x-rays and explained in detail what he was seeing. He started asking me about myself and then told stories of his own, making me feel very comfortable. I had a cavity that needed filling and the entire procedure was painless, mind you I have the MOST sensitive teeth in the world! From the shot to the actual filling, I didn't feel any pain. It got awkward at times when he was talking and would ask me something, and I would just have to say "uh huh"... I went back a couple months ago for a cleaning and to my surprise, he remembered some of the things I had told him from the year before! I was thinking to myself, maybe he wrote it down in my file? Going to the dentist is never a comfortable experience but Dr. Cho has provided me the best dental care thus far. He is good at what he does and explains exactly what is going on with your teeth. If your insurance covers him, definitely pick him! But a fair warning: he has grown extremely popular so make sure you book your appointments at least a month or two in advance! (I should note, though, last year sometime I had an extremely bad toothache and when I called, they took me in the SAME day b/c it was an emergency - I later found out he had stayed during part of his lunch hour to see me!) I called to inquire about a possible consultation appointment but the lady who was on the line sounded annoyed and became increasingly rude to me. She ended up raising her voice at me at which point I just hung up on her. I will not consider this office ever again nor will I recommend it to my family, friends, and colleagues. This guy knows what he's doing. Quick, efficient, extremely knowledgeable, I felt at ease in the dental chair for once. I had a teeth cleaning here this morning, and I've never had such a pleasant and thorough dental experience. The scraping was as painless as could be, he kept talking to me the whole time about what he was doing and random interesting facts about teeth haha, so that was also a great distraction. He didn't recommend any procedures that I didn't need and warned against taking too many x-rays, which my previous dentists would not even bat an eye about. He made me feel valued as a patient and encouraged good dental hygiene instead of the normal slap on the hand. Him and his hygienists were equally helpful and skilled. I can't him recommend enough! This dentist goes above and beyond for his patients. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist but he explains everything and shows you pictures of your x-rays. He really takes the time to educate the patient and explain what the issue is. He is very patient and is very interested in the well being of the patients he sees. I write this as a person who has feared the Dentist since i was 9; and im 42. I admittedly havent been to the dentist regularly in 30 years. The fear was too great. Today, I met Dr Brian Cho and am forever changed. Immediately there was a sense of humanity (and i think he sensed my fear). Conversation started and defenses started to lower. Before i knew it ue was checking out everything, including a chipped wisdom tooth. With all the care id never imagined possible, he was repairing it and also reassuring me that things would be ok and not to think about the time i hadnt gone, but more on how i kept things in great shape and he would only help keep it that way. This is a quality i want in a human and even moreso my Dr, and even MORESO my Dentist.
