Now that I am out, I can anonymously share what tenants are dealing with due to the new owners. Here are a few of the specific complaints from tenants who have been residents of these properties for 3 to nearly 20 years (identifying attributes removed or generalized for anonymity): These new owners are ATROCIOUS. WITHOUT NOTICE, the new owners now allow dogs which one tenant is extremely allergic to, causing them to go on medication due to the new pets in their building and the smell/hair/dander in the carpeted hallway. Another cannot cope with the incessant barking heard coming from the adjacent building. The grass and grounds where children had played are now covered in yellow stained spots from urine and feces of the animals (note: feces is being cleaned up but the damage to the grass is still happening). Dumpsters impede the full use of the driveway. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. The new owners are allowing new and disrespectful tenants who scream at all hours of the day and night and slam doors to where the entire building and those on the street can hear - they seem to take anyone now. Non-residents/workers are leaving doors unlocked and propped open after they depart. One tenant pays for a parking spot but someone else is regularly in it, assumed to be a hired worker. They never told one tenant about the construction and they work from home and were unable to run a very important meeting for work due to the non-stop drilling noise. Attempts have been made, without notice, to enter a unit while a minor child was home alone. One tenant is extremely sensitive to pesticide and would vacate for a couple days when the previous owner notified them of a treatment. NO NOTICE was given when the new owners treated, causing this tenant to pass out in their kitchen in front of their small child who didn't know what to do. Poison control was called and the treating company refused to provide the type of chemical used that day without authorization from the building owner. NO ADVANCE NOTICE is being given of construction and apartment entry, causing numerous tenants to experience unknown contractor knocks and entry into units last minute. Notices are no longer posted in the buildings in advance or at each tenant's door. The new owners said there would be drop boxes installed to submit rent - that never happened. An email notice was sent to one tenant the day after the email said they would be entering the tenant's unit - which required the tenant to execute several tasks they were unable to do and it was during the holidays. Non-residents are now entering the buildings and "snooping" through different areas that were previously secured and are now being left open - damage to the property has occurred. The "upgrades" may look nice at first but they are really cheap and remove any historical charm the units previously had. The "improvements" are done so poorly and are cheap and nothing matches, the new paint is already peeling off and you can see through the paint because it needed primer or another coat. There is a new tenant who must have serious mental health issues and there is a concern for children because they are making "demonic dolls" and "shrines" and putting stacks of full beer cans in odd locations in their walkways. Hopefully these owners can take this as constructive criticism to improve their communication and screening process since the tenants don't feel comfortable speaking up about their individual experiences outside of hallway and sidewalk conversations. read more

Okay well the living area isn't bad, but the company DOES NOT CARE who they rent to. I currently live below a 20 year old who has loud s*X at all hours of the night, and across from a 20 year old who is constantly moving people in. The basement is also constantly flooded and they have drainage issues, but if you report anything you're going to pay! I have photos of the constant mold in the basement and the fact they let young children just park wherever and party all night. I really wouldn't recommend living here, the walls are thin and you can just hear the constant loudness and disrespect of children... because the landlord doesn't care! As long as they have money, the one above me told me her dog is addicted to meth, and so is her mother who I gave a ride away from this place. RENTER BEWARE!!! Beautiful complexes.. great management. Sad I had to leave but I loooved my unit. There was so much storage space.

I lived In Kirkwood Manor Condominiums for two years prior to my recent move and had a great relationship with Anic Enterprises Staff. My condo was updated, modern, clean, safe and convenient. I also had a very large storage unit in the basement which was a plus! I loved living there and renting from Anic was the BEST experience I have ever had with a landlord/management company!! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Any time I had a maintenance issue, it was handled right away and never took longer than one day. I would definitely rent from Anic Enterprises again and highly recommend them to anyone looking in the St. Louis area for a nice, updated, safe and reasonably priced apartment!! read more

We have been residents for five years. Parkside Anic are very nice apartments, located on beautiful grounds across from Kirkwood Park. The staff is very professional and responsive. Maintenance request have never taken longer than a day. The apartment building is quiet,, conveniently located and cozy. We would highly recommend. read more

I cannot express how much I loved renting from Anic Enterprises. I loved living at Shrewsbury Place; it had everything I wanted in an apartment. It was in an ideal location, the original hardwood floors were beautifully refinished, and the bathroom and kitchen were updated. It was easy to hear my neighbors sometimes, but the great management and amazing apartment made up for it. Bernard and Tammy were very professional and responded to every maintenance request that I had in a timely manner. As a first time renter, I had a ton of questions and they responded to every single one and were so patient with me. They genuinely care for their tenants and that's hard to find when renting. I had to move because I got married and my husband teaches out of state. I had an additional month left to rent, but they found another tenant and refunded a prorated amount for the last month I paid as well as the full security deposit. I am now dealing with a jack ass of a property manager, so I took this wonderful management for granted. I left my heart at my apartment at Shrewsbury Place. If you are looking to rent in the St. Louis area, I highly recommend renting from Anic Enterprises. read more

Anic Enterprises is a great property management company. Bernard and Tammy are professional, responsive and easy to deal with. All maintenance issues (of which I only had a couple and nothing major in my 3 years in the apartment) were dealt with promptly and the property upkeep (common area cleaning, leaf/snow removal, etc) was great. I have heard they charge a but more in rent than other companies, but it is worth it, in my opinion, to have a solid management company to work with...you get what you pay for. I lived in the Clydesdale Apartments and was super satisfied with the service I received from the management here. My roommate unexpectedly and suddenly moved out and they were super understanding during that time. Communication was awesome with them and if I had any issues with the apartment, they were rectified within 24 hours. Further, upon moving out, I ran into a hiccup regarding moving my washer and dryer. Therefore they worked with me by allowing me to briefly keep them there until I found a place to store them. The major perks of the place were #1 - the management #2 - the pool #3 - w/d hook ups and storage in the basement #4 - close to Grasso Plaza, Schnucks, Subway etc. read more

It was difficult to move out of this apartment because it has been such a great place. The building is the best of both worlds, brand new, completely and beautifully remodeled with quality finishes on the inside, and old world charm that resembles an Italian villa on the outside. The owner and management are outstanding. Repairs were made immediately -even if it meant the owner did it himself, it was done quickly and attended to until it was right. The property is managed in a way that makes you feel like family, however, with expectations that the property be respected and taken care -which leads to a sense of pride and appreciation on the part of tenants. Where do I begin, hmmm - let's see: DON'T LIVE HERE...you can hear everything - a sneeze, cough, conversations...absolutely no privacy. The windows may as well not even exist...it freezes in the winter and steams in the summer. The only decent foundation the Stratford apartment stands on is the Lindbergh school district. Otherwise, this is a money pit. Ironically, if you have children the before mentioned point is irrelevant because they aren't child friendly..the building is an empty shell of dry wall and old wood. Keep looking, unless you are desperate....Hated it!!!! Less than 1 star actually. In addition, I suggest that you ask someone that is living there what their experiences has been. If you are someone who is barely home the before mentioned may not be a major deal, but it you are a home body and don't care to hear what is going on in your neighbors apt...this is definitely not the place. I have lived in a variety of different apartments with prices ranging from $ 600-1100 and never lack privacy like this place. Of all the places I lived, I received at least a few hundred dollars back from my deposit (btw I have great credit, but I notice that in MO most places require some type of deposit). This management company kept 100%...(based on how I left the place I knew I would at least get half back). I used to be a real estate agent and understand "wear and tear" so I dont have a problem with fair charges. All this said, at least you have been warned ....it is 100% accurate. read more

I have been a homeowner most of my adult life and am now living at one of the Anic Enterprises apartments. I can't say enough good things about Bernard and Tammy. They make me feel like I am still living in my home, by taking care of every little thing I need and more! From a drippy faucet to beautiful landscaping! They go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels like they are truly living in a home environment and not just an apartment. They want their people to be happy.
