I just used Animal Amour for the first time in many years and it was absolutely amazing. Heidi has taken over the business and she is so caring and sweet with my cats. She came daily to care for my cats while I was out of town and she went above and beyond. She spent more time with my cats than any previous sitter. She spent about an hour daily including feeding the cats and giving them fresh water, cleaning the litter box, taking in mail/packages, adjusting lights and drapes and just giving the cats love and attention. Each day she would send many pics and information about my cats. On the day we flew back we didn't ask her to take care of the cats since we were arriving home late that night but she asked to stop buy and refill the foods/water and clean the litter box just to keep everything nice and fresh for them. I had them watch my pets while out of town for a bit under a week at the end of last year. When I got home, everything seemed in place, and there weren't any pet messes, so I was happy. Their rates are okay (about $20 per day, plus $15 extra per day on holidays I think), about the same as you'd get at an animal hospital for boarding, but your pets get to stay home where they are most comfortable. They require two copies of your house key, which could be a pain if you don't have endless copies lying around. I would use them again - if I happen to be out of town while all my friends are out of town too. read more

I recently had a freak out moment, the morning I was packing to leave town, my cat's eye had swollen shut! As a new pet owner, I was having a hard time deciding what needed to be done as I had to be at LAX that morning. I knew Animal Amour was watching her over the weekend, so I called Joni to tell her about the situation. This was the moment for me that I realized how valuable it is to have somebody like Joni in my life. Joni is extremely knowledgeable about cats and she gave me some great advice on what to do that morning. Then, while I was gone, she texted me updates on my cat so that I wouldn't be stressed out during my vacation. We have been using Animal Amour for almost 7 years to walk our rescue pup daily and also overnight when we have been out of town. Our dog absolutely loves them and they treat him as their own. Our dog is about 12 years old now and has some health issues, but Animal Amour has gone the extra mile in taking care of him. They have taken him to the vet when he seemed a little off (or gets stung by a bee) and even hold an umbrella over him when it is too hot and sunny during his walks. We were about 2 hours from home when the brush fires hit Irvine in 2007, but Animal Amour had called us to let us know that they were monitoring the fires and if the fires got too close to our house, they would come pick up our dog and take him to safety. Joni, Kelly, Angela and the whole team are amazing!!! Case in point: a little over a year ago, one of our beloved indoor kitties, Pablo, found his way out of the house in the middle of the night. I called Joni and Kelly to ask them to keep an eye out for him as they took care of their other clients throughout the day, and to my surprise, about an hour later, I heard their voices outside in my neighborhood calling out Pablo's name. I ran outside, and saw that they had compiled a team of four women who were combing the neighborhood for my kitty. They spent countless tiring hours searching high and low and even drove around the surrounding areas to help me find our sweet boy. I had only asked that they keep their eyes open for him on their walks but they went above and beyond the call of duty and actually gave their own personal time to help me out. After about 2-3 hours of searching, they had to go back to their other furry clients and continue on with their day, but Kelly stayed with me for another 2 hours helping me look for Pablo and keeping my spirits up. I don't know what I would have done that day without their help! Luckily, that evening, Pablo came home... and again, Animal Amour was right there sending me messages of congratulations that our little furry man had returned. I cannot imagine any other company offering their own personal time to help find a lost kitty. Animal Amour holds a special place in my heart and always will. After that terrible experience, I was wary of having a repeat incident with another pet sitter. However, once I met Joni and had her pet sit for the first time, I knew that would never happen with Animal Amour. Everyone is very responsible and professional. They usually call or email a day or two before my trip to confirm so I know they have me down in their schedule. My cats and bird are always happy, clean and fed when I arrive home. They always leave a "report card" detailing how their visits went and notifying me of any issues. Not only do they do a great job with my pets, but they also take care of the house. They bring in mail and newspapers and take trash cans to and from the curb. They also do a great job cleaning up after any pet messes. I felt particularly bad after one trip when I found out one of my cats kept going outside the litter box the entire time I was gone. They dutifully kept cleaning up the mess daily, and if they hadn't mentioned it I would never have been able to tell that there had been a problem. Whenever I go away, the one thing I never have to worry about is how my pets will be cared for. I know they are always in good hands with Animal Amour.
