Our dog Nellie is a foster with a nervous personality, she's not your average easy going pup. It's hard to trust anyone with her because it takes a different level of skill and she could bite another dog if put in the wrong situation. When we met Riley it was the biggest relief, she was so up for the challenge. She even worked with our dog's current trainer on her own time to learn more about what Nellie (and other dogs) needed to be successful - how amazing! She uses a great app when walking so you get an email once the walk is completed showing where they went, if your dog pooped/peed and sometimes even a cute photo that will make you smile! We have no worries when we're gone that Riley has everything under control. She is one of the few people we trust with our pup :)

First we were told by the owner (Riley is not the owner anymore)…read morethat we were not allowed to come to the "boarding area" because they promoted pick ups only. I thought that was odd because who would not want to see the boarding facility first. They do NOT offer a 24/7 live cam which also led me to not trust them. I later talked to an employee van driver and he told me and my husband the dogs are kept in the garage in kennels, the bigger dogs are kept in the van in the garage with no air or ventilation AND-where it is dark. We were appalled and horrified. We called the Newport Beach Animal Control and found out Island Pooch doesn't even have a boarding license. Please do your research before you use ANY animal boarding. Island Pooch is definitely untrustworthy and does not care for animals if this is how they are boarding them.

She is reliable, caring and knowledgeable. She works to accommodate my schedule and shows up when she says she will. She gives me updates by text of how my pugs did on their walk and alerts me if she has any concerns about their health. She was also aware on our first meeting that pugs can overheat easily (due to their short noses) and made it a point to say that she would be careful with them on hot days. She came over before I ever used her services for a meet and greet to understand my needs and to meet my pugs. I believe she is expanding her services also to Huntington Beach soon. He got two ear infections, paws red itchy, and bloody. He seemed traumatized and very ill. I took him to the vet and they had put him on antibiotics, they gave him steroids and allergy shots and it's still 16 days after and his paws are not healed and my puppy is getting worse and lots and lots of vet bills. Our dogs and cat loved her, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were with someone who treats them with that level of care and attention. One of our dogs takes a couple medications, and Brooke was incredibly responsible and precise about making sure everything was given correctly and on schedule. She followed all of our feeding routines and instructions carefully, and whenever something wasn't completely clear she reached out to ask questions and clarify instead of guessing. That level of communication meant a lot to us and really reassured us while we were away. She also kept us updated the whole time and sent the BEST pictures of our pets, which we looked forward to getting. It was so nice seeing how happy and relaxed they were while we were gone.
