Chloe

I had recently lost my cat Oliver of 14yrs. My heart was broken and I was worried about getting another cat. I worked with Jennifer. She introduced to me to every cat there. Jennifer was patient and very kind. I adopted my Chloe. I love her so much and am so happy to have her. I will refer anyone I know to this facility.

i adopted my sweet boy kappa from here and the staff was lovely. kitten season is upon us and they'll have even more cute cats there!

After going thru many rescues and web sites I had almost given up when a good friend recommended I check out animal care league of Oak Park. Next day approval of my application and a week later I found my new companion. incredible service and staff, attention to detail and complete report on Brillo (now named Bree). I highly recommend this organization if you are looking for a new pet

Great place to adopt, very friendly and clean. Volunteers and staff work together to provide a great entertainment for the animals and guests.

Oak Park resident for 5 years... My cat and my dog are from ACL, great people there and an amazing volunteer base. Only had good experiences with them.

My little lilo

What can I say?. I promised myself I'd never be one of "those" people. You know the ones obsessed with there dogs. Fast forward, we adopt our little angel lilo. She is a boston terrier and my furbaby. Yes I consider her my daugher I have a slight obsession. So, we needed to get my princess spayed. We choose animal care league. Thank god we did seriously. They were super sweet and the surgery went perfect. She barely has a little incision. She was a little groggy the first day but they even gave her pain killers. The next day my sweet angel was back to herself. That should deserve more than 5stars. They are kind and the doctor was flawless. If you love your animal take them here. Thank you for taking the upmost care of my bestfriend.

Bruno was happy to be adopted!

Tamara truly loves dogs and is extremely knowledgeable about how to take care of dogs. We just added a second dog, a rescue, to our family and Tamara came over to meet her and spent time talking with us about her needs and how pets-Chicago can help us. With pets-Chicago, you know there will always be someone to walk your dog, no matter what. They now have a system that emails you with walk details and the route after walks.

We have worked with trainers to manage his reactivity, and he has improved so much with us - but he absolutely would not let anyone else come near him to put a leash on and walk him. We couldn't figure out what to do with him while we worked because no one could really get near him. We tried 4 other walkers over 5 months and I truly lost all hope - he HATED them all. I reached out to my trainer in desperation, who recommend Tamara. Even after explaining my dogs behaviors and failed walkers, she was still willing to take on the challenge. She came over to meet Reese and just sat on the floor with a million treats until he was comfortable. She then did this for every day he needed a walk until he was comfortable. She has been walking Reese for about 8 months and sometimes he even still has a freak out on her when he has off days. She never gives up on him, she is always patient with him and she even brings other dogs with her to socialize him on walks. Not to mention she has learned his triggers outside and avoids them or manages Reese's behaviors on walks. I do not know what we would do without her. I never would have imagined that Reese and her could be besties now - she even came to his birthday party. If you have a reactive dog, I would not trust anyone else walking them besides Tamara.

I left two messages and I waited and waited. So I decided to contact the mobile pet groomers who are more expensive but reliable and they return phone calls!!! So if you are considering using their services here is my advice. Run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain! No no no!!! That's a hard no from me! Enter at your own risk ! You've been warned!

While I will give this place a 5 for dog training they deserve a 2 for dog daycare. Not just the prey drive but larger dogs play rougher then smaller dogs. They can be stepped on etc. After interviewing different dog daycares I have found out that for most if not all have cams to check in through out the day. Also if there is an issue with your pup there is video evidence. I had nothing except for their word and honestly I feel my pups wasn't wanted they just wanted my money. The training was top notch and worth the money. I do have the best puppy ever and can take her to many places. She now has manners. But I do not recommend for day care. Lesson learned.

Some Boarders require more than this facility. It's a large inside Boarding and Day Camp facility, located in Oak Park on the North East corner of Lyman & Roosevelt Rd. Plenty of free street parking , make sure to read the signs. Camp Theme, log cabin style, super cute! Nice design and logo! Day Care is $37 for more than 6hrs, and $24 for less than 6hrs of care. It's $55 for boarding and an Extra $7 added for PEAK Times; holiday times. For multiple dogs that can sleep together, there is a discount. There is a noise restriction in Oak Park, so there is no outside play ground at this facility. This group "Camp Bow Wow" does have several locations. They do have 2 large indoor yards for Big Dogs & 1 yard for Smaller Dogs. A deposit is Required for Boarding, so make sure to ask all the necessary questions. They do have maximum capacities, and were very busy when I stopped in. Brianna was very pleasant and helpful. They have folders available with the Daily Schedule for Camp. Located in a busy area, just East of the Dollar Tree, Pete's & Lucky Dogs for fast food. Walgreens just West. Plenty of Gas stations nearby , as well as Dispensary just a block East.

They want an influenza vaccination, but my dog gets sick with her vaccinations and that one is not required by anyone else. I'm not going to risk her getting sick. I also couldn't take her to this kennel when she was less than a year old, because they required her to be spayed before the doctor recommended it. The doctor wanted her to wait until she had her first cycle, but this location required it even before that. I appreciate that they care about the health of the dogs, but I don't know how they can require things that go against the veterinarians recommendation. Very disappointing- we would like to be regular clients.
