I think the idea of kennels is fine for dogs, but cats are more lone wolf than the actual ancestor of the wolf... so this was the perfect solution. The first time we booked with them Louise the founder came round to meet us and the cats, answer any questions we had, and allay any fears. You then choose the number of visits and what sort of time (morning/evening) you have your pet 'sat', or dog walked, fed etc. They spend a good amount of time with your pet, playing with it, feeding it, making sure there are no problems. They even water your plants and leave a little diary so you know how your cat/dog/a.n.other has been while you've been away. We even came home to a pint of milk. I honestly can't praise this company enough, I really can't. Absolutely trustworthy and worth every single penny!!!

She was overjoyed to see us but she was as plump as ever (unlike her return from the cattery) and showed no signs of stress. The notes left by the visitors were detailed and reassuring and showed the level of care that we had hoped for. It also showed the security measures that had been taken on the house. Receptionist was so rude & had such a bad attitude I asked to speak to vet but he said no even though there was no one in with vet! He said just leave if you haven't got time to wait! Vet came out at 4.15 & told me they didn't have all vaccines for my dog so I could come back in 2 weeks,why wasn't I told this when I got there? On the way home I met a couple with a dog & asked them which vet they went to as I am definitely not going back to village vets,they said they used to go there but they found them very rude! No people skills & bad attitude,I wouldn't recommend village vets.

They have a great stock of upper-market pet food in-house. If they don't have the size you want, they will order it for you and it will come in within a few days. They were able to order our super-large bags of Royal Canin cat food. They also offer very competitive rates on it. (Note - buy big! you end up saving! 2) They were able to help me out when I was in a jam one day with day-long boarding. We had some repairmen coming around to the flat short notice, and they were able to board our Mischief for the day until the workers were done. Great being able to accomodate on such a short notice! Life savers, they were!!

We took a chance on City Paws after reading the other reviews and are so glad we did! They were available to take our dogs quite last minute for a few days when we had to go out of town and they are very flexible with day play dates. We love knowing that when they are boarding with City Paws that they are staying at the home of a City Paws staffer rather than a kennel or crate at some sort of facility. One of our dogs is a rescue and has always been nervous around new people but he seems completely at ease with Matt and his team. Both dogs are excited when they are picked up in the morning and seem to have an awesome time whenever they go out with City Paws for the day. They always come home happy, enthusiastic and exhausted (in the best way possible). Matt is also super responsive and easy to communicate with. He has even FaceTimed us so we could see the dogs playing at their property outside London. Long story short - we highly recommend City Paws!

If it were up to her she'd let herself resemble Pigpen, would roll around in dirt and feces, and would generally look like she'd just been through a forage in the forest. However, as an apartment dog...this is not acceptable. She is a shorthaired lady, so she doesn't need the particular cut, but every few months she does need a deep down brushing, scrub and nail trim (something about trimming another beings nails terrifies me)...and thus we search for her spa. Easier said than done in East London! But I finally found Groom Dog City and I am quite pleased with the output. It's in a little shop near Haggerston/Columbia Market, they took my appointment quickly, the staff was very nice (both the owner and the assistant), and 45 minutes later I returned and was gifted back a dog that looked to be much cleaner and about 4 bales of hair lighter. Win. Reasonably priced too! For the works on my type of dog (again, no cutting/trimming required) for bath, eyes, ears, nails, brushdown -- about £25. I also left a tip because I have to believe this is thankless work giving spa treatments to animals who do not wish to be pampered. If they only knew! They even returned her to me with a little bow. I'll be visiting again next time she starts to resemble a vagabond... *appointments easily made online (he called me back right away). *there are a few shop dogs, word to the wise. I mentioned my dog wasn't so nice with other dogs she doesn't know, and they easily blocked them off. I'm sure my dog was still a nervous wreck, but there is a price to beauty and to coexisting with humans, Tillie.

my dog was four weeks past due his groom and having moved a to a new city, it can be tricky looking…read morefor something outside of the regular. anna w.'s review convinced me that this one was worth checking out, and luckily, groom dog city is conveniently located nearby. the consultation was quick and concise. the price is affordable. they promised me about 2.5 hours, and they were even finished before then. most importantly, Peaches got one of the best haircuts he's had in a while. and you might not be able to see it in the photo, but they put a small xmas bow on his collar (awww). we will be back.
