We've been bringing our dog here for a few years. They have been very accommodating with our schedule and works with me to make sure that drop off and pick up works with my day. My dog gets so nervous about his nails, but they have been good at keeping him calm when we get it done. As long as my dog is well taken care of, we will be back. Best to pay by cash or check. I don't know if they take credit cards, they are so busy here that I prefer to just hand over my payment and continue my day. read more

I would highly caution you not to take your beloved pet to this groomer. We recently had a very negative experience with our puppy who was groomed there. Not only was his haircut drastically far from what we had asked for (he was completely shaved), but he now has large BALD SPOTS all over his body. This is a 10 MONTH OLD PUPPY. When we went to pick him up, he was bleeding/shaved too close in a few spots and we were told by the owner to "put vitamin E on it." Since he was shaved, we did not know at the time how badly hurt he was. When we confronted the owner, Monique, about our concerns, her reaction was anything but professional. We waited five weeks to take him back in hopes that his fur would grow back, but sadly, it has not. She escorted us to the door, throwing our money at us. It is now September and he was groomed back in April. Our dog still has EIGHT bald spots all over his body. Please see pictures. We've hesitated and waited a long time to post this review, but every time someone meets our puppy and asks what's wrong with him, we have to relive and retell the damage that was done. It would be one thing if there was an apology that a mistake was made, but she took no responsibility. Our vet had no other explanation other than too close of a shave for his injuries and bald spots - this is not something he ever had before being groomed at Animal Haus. We've contacted an attorney, but decided not to pursue that avenue and post this instead. read more

Animal Haus is special. Monique and her crew have taken care of our beloved furbabies for over 25 years. Competitors have tried to poach us to no avail. You will not find a more kind, caring, knowledgeable groomer anywhere. And the dogs love it there. We referred hubby's boss there for her old, special needs dogs and she is thrilled with her entire experience there. One dog is blind and the other is deaf and they depend on each other to get around and feel safe. And they feel safe and are well cared for at Animal Haus. So many of us really know what a treasure Monique and her crew are. We feel so strongly that we are on the waiting list for our sweet new pup, Sunny. Moe has helped me many times when my baby was not feeling 100% came in on her day off. Tonight Moe and Dana were amazing, my 15 year old pup started having seizures they went above and beyond to treat her so special tonight... Dana gave her a great haircut! Great team! They have been grooming my dogs (schnauzer, husky and puppy) for the last 10 years and I would trust no one else with my dogs. It is not always easy to schedule appointments but that goes to show how many trust them with their pets. I recently got a puppy and she already loves the place. I like the groomers, however the owner is strange. Not truthful. She will tell you anything then does nothing close to your instructions. If I didn't have to deal with such a nut, I would rate this place five stars. Avoid her and you might not have any problems. Just don't fall for the promise to get the job done in less than five hours. I would prefer not to deal with her but that's not always possible. WTF needs five hours to do your dog unless they overbook and can't handle the pace she sets. I read one review when she gets a little nuts if you try to pay with a credit card. It' s not funny either. I have seen her in action. Heads up, cash or check only - or she has a melt down. I don't want to be unfair to the groomers who do excellent work, however she has a really high turnover rate. I rarely, almost never, get the same groomer because they are gone. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I after reading Sherri J. (who really seems like she just didn't get her way) I wanted to give the perspective of a hard to please customer. Anyone who knows me would tell you that I am CRAZY when it comes to my four legged children. I have three pups and one, a miniature schnauzer, is the one that requires grooming. I moved to Michigan about a year ago and had only ever taken Boo-Bear to one groomer his whole life and he is 7 years old. Needless to say I was careful to read reviews and only had Yelp to help with this as I didn't know anyone in the area. I filtered by most reviewed thinking the more people the better the establishment. Then I found this little gem. When I took Boo-Bear here the first thing I noticed when I dropped him off was that all the dogs were not caged, but were all free to roam and play while waiting for their turn to get groomed. When I went back the dogs were still out playing and enjoying the day at the groomer. I have called twice in the last year, once just recently before Thanksgiving Holiday to be fit in for a last minute request. Never have I been told NO. Once I was told they were booked and would let me know if someone cancelled, but in less than an hour was called back and Jessie, who is Boo's groomer, made sure she could work him into her schedule. I have never seen any nicks or had any problems with the service. Mostly I just find this to be a VERY dog friendly environment that takes pride in the service they provide and at a reasonable price as well. I do take my other two children to get pedi's, and they are always quick to fit them in and never have they caused nails to bleed (as has happened even at the vets) From a person who is hard to please let me say that this place is 5 stars on my Yelp scale and if you want to leave your dog for a spa day with people you can trust Animal Haus is worth a try. read more

I visited Animal Haus just to have my dogs' nails trimmed. Both people came out to make our dogs more comfortable and sat on the floor with our dogs! They talked calmly and were patient in allowing them time to sniff and get to know them before clipping. I would definitely go back! read more

I've been bringing my dog here for 8 years, since she was a puppy. All I have to say is "Animal Haus" and she is running in circles ready to go. The prices seem in line with the rest of the industry and she gets to hang out and have a great day so I'd be willing to pay more. Animal Haus does an excellent job with our standard poodle. Sophie can sometimes be anxious around other dogs, but she always seems happy and played-out when we arrive... which is perhaps worth the cost alone. :) The people at AH always provide exactly the service we ask for (whether it's a full trim or a mid-cycle cleanup), and stick to our particular issues like not plucking her ears. When your dog goes there for grooming it's like an all day long DOG PARTY for them! The dogs come home exhausted and sleep the rest of the day! My dog barks and wags her tail as we get close and JUMPS out of the car and Barks at the door to get in until she sees her groomer and wags her tail the whole time! Clearly these people do not want new customers or they only have one person that works the shop. Seriously, for a "new customer" they don't have an opening for over 1.5 months for a BATH?!?! What? I've had dogs for 40+ years. I'm extremely particular about their care. This is hands down the best dog salon I've ever taken my friends to. While the result is always excellent, more important to me is the genuine care that the dogs receive there. You'll feel it as soon as you enter. I have used Animal Haus for my Kirby since we rescued him at 4 months old and he is going on 7 years now. I love the grooming that Kirby gets, but I really love the fact that he loves to go there, and I know it is not that he likes getting a bath. I have tried several different pet salons before hitting the jackpot with Monique at Animal Haus in Northville. She has been our groomer through the lives of two dogs now. We have English Springers and they require special and frequent grooming. Monique makes our girl shine! I drop off my Gracie in the morning and she has a spa day with her "friends" at Animal Haus. Each groomer greets her and treats her like she is their own. After the "treatment", Gracie goes home with a fresh bandana and sometimes a little bag of goodies. We LOVE Monique and would follow her wherever she goes. She's professional, dedicated and we feel like she loves our Gracie like we do. read more

I can't say enough about the women that work at this establishment. My dog Molly who recently passed loved it there and it was the only place we would take her. My mom is honestly extremely picky about both cut and treatment - not only did they always groom her correctly and the way we asked, but she always! loved going and playing with the other dogs and always came back happy. Other placed would leave her scared. A year or so before her death she went blind and also had an open sore on her back from cushings. I dropped her off a couple months before she had her final seizure and that couldn't have made me feel better about leaving her with them. I was worried that because she was blind she would be scared but they knew her by name and were soooo compassionate. Bless them for taking care of our sweet pup all of those years. BEWARE...I had been taking my little dog to Animal Haus for over 4 years and always giving a generous tip on top of the grooming price. Then one day I phoned to make another grooming appointment when I was told by the owner that she was booked till the end of the year. What....we were only three months into the year. A month later I phoned again and again the owner said she was booked this time when I questioned her she became rude and said I needed to find another groomer that she didn't have time. When I asked why she had nothing, no reason to give for her attitude. If she had any problem I would have been open to discussing it with her. My dog is like a child of mine, she's family and if there was anything wrong I would have been happy to address the problem but she said nothing just that she didn't have time after 4 years of being a loyal customer. And to think I had recommended them to friends and neighbors and that's how I was treated. I have now made sure all if them know how I was treated by her. My little dog is elderly and somewhat sickly so changing groomers was not only traumatic for her but for me also. I will not forget the rudeness extended to me after my years of loyal and generous repeat business. FYI I have found another groomer who is so kind and gentile with my little dog. read more
