I took my papillon here and was devastated by what happened. I gave specific instructions to cut his fur short and to just clean him up. I never told them to cut his ear fur and I made the assumption that as a groomer they would be fully aware of all the breeds and how a papillons ears are what makes them unique... When i picked up my dog he was completely butchered, they essentially shaved off all his fur, but his tail because thankfully they followed my instructions not to touch his tail. They ruined my poor papillon and shaved not only his body but all his ears. Not only did they completely botch his hair cut, they also cut his back leg. What was most shocking about the cut was that they didn't even mention it to me when I was checking out, I was the one that had to call it out which I find incredibly unprofessional. My dog has been acting differently ever since and i just feel horrible thinking about what they did to him. I would never recommend anyone to this place. My heart is broken over what they did to my poor dog. read more

Dog-Gone Beautiful ALWAYS does an amazing job with my 1 year old golden retriever, Kali. I have gone to them twice now, and they never disappoint. If you don't know what kind of cut to go with your dog, they are always helpful to offer/show you some suggestions. Unlike your typical long-haired golden retrievers, I like my Kali's hair to be short (but not too short) and Dog-Gone perfectly cuts her hair every time. I also like that they allow Kali to play with the other dogs there that are waiting to be serviced. By luck I ran into a stranger that highly recommended this groomer. My dog doesn't always like hanging out with other dogs and she is not a big fan of being washed and groomed. In some ways she's like some guys. I mentioned some of the quirks with my dog and they were able to handle her perfectly. I didn't expect them to be able to clip her toe nails because she doesn't want to be touched on her paws but they did a great job. Wonderful! As an over-protective parent I'm very cautious when selecting a groomer. Thankfully, thanks to other yelpers I gave this place a shot. From a first impression I was impressed for the cleanliness and the smell of the place. But what makes this place different from any other groomer is that they don't believe in crates which I think is wonderful and allow dogs to walk freely and socialize with other dogs. At first I was hesitant because I'm a proud owner of shih tzu's and didn't feel comfortable with them playing with bigger dogs but thankfully they separate dogs in two areas based on their size which is reassuring. The groomer works well with you and asks many questions to insure that you will be happy with their haircut.... I can't thank yelp enough for helping me find this place. I've been meaning to review this place since I brought my Yorkie, Rusty, there for grooming, but it kept slipping my mind. I brought Rusty in Oct and was a bit apprehensive because they are cage free and my little guy has a BIG personality ;)--but I decided what the heck to give it a try and was very pleased when I returned. They sensed his anxiety and picked him up to ease him in and they were very kind about it. His haircut was fantastic and he was stylin' with a cool bandana. Stephanie did absolutely amazing on our pup! I can't thank her enough for her patience and persistence to help groom our dog. I was clueless to the neglect he was getting at a previous salon, and felt like the hair matting was going to be inevitable with our doodle. She had to make him look quite silly for re-growth purposes but explained how she will be able to prevent it from getting to this point again and seemed much more knowledgeable than previous salons. He was worn out from how long it was taking and becoming quite impatient and anxious, she was so patient and I am so thankful we found DGB! Owners have to remember if your dog is being difficult for them the haircut isn't going to look perfectly even and smooth, but I think once our dog learns to trust her things will only get better! After hearing many horror stories about mega-store groomers, I asked around and the concencus was that DGB is the best around. I love this groomer. Before we found them we would take my dog to Pet Smart and because he is a fine-haired Malti-poo they always wanted us to sign a waiver saying they could shave him if they found too many mats. Invariably, he came back shaved. When these guys opened up I decided to try them and am I glad I did! They are professional, clean - my dog loves it there because he gets to socialize with other dogs, and the people there always take the time need to do a great job. He has no more mats now than he did when I used to take him to Petsmart - but NOW he comes back looking like a dog instead of a hairless rat! I've brought my little Shorkie here since they have opened their doors!!! I love that I can drop him off and know he's in responsible hands. They don't cage any of the dogs which is a big reason I love this place, my dog loves to socialize while he's away from his mama!!! I drop him off at 9am and he's always ready within a couple hours!! I can't even say Natalie's name without my puppy getting excited, I've recommended this place to many of my friend and they have loved it for their fur kids too!!!! Love love love Dog Gone Beautiful as much as my little Chloe loves it there. I had tried another groomer prior to going to Dog Gone Beautiful and was not real happy with them. Dog Gone Beautiful is unique to me how they handle the dogs and how the dogs all play together in the room. It is such a great way for the dogs to learn how to play with other dogs and be social. Absolutely love Natalie she is wonderful with Chloe. I feel like it's a doggie daycare because they absolutely do not mind the dogs playing together all day. I took my 4 month miniature golden doodle to have her first grooming and couldn't be happier. Great service, fun environment and ultimately awesome results. The ladies at Dog-Gone Beautiful couldn't have been nicer from when I called to make the appointment to dropping off my puppy. Love that this is a cage-free facility.....I don't think my fur baby wanted to leave after having so much fun with the other dogs! We will be going back!! I took my Lab mix there. When I picked her up I notice she was still shedding and her coat didn't look right she was also itching so the next day I combed her and her skin was very dry and had scabs and hair was just falling out. I called them back and they told me I could bring her back and they could give her an oatmeal bath or I could take her to the vet and just give them a call back and let them know what the vet says. I call them back after going to the vet to speak to the owner Natalie she was rude and very unprofessional. My $52.00 plus tip has turned into $400.00 and with Natalie yelling and hanging up on both myself and my vets office I will never know what happened to my dog that day. Excellent groomers! Our two goldendoodles have been groomed by Natalie and Stephanie since we moved to Michigan 7 months ago and they have done a consistently excellent job every time! Finding someone that can do a really good "doodle" cut is challenging, but Natalie and Stephanie always listen to what we want and deliver. Our two dogs clearly adore them. During our last groom, one of our dogs was recovering from shoulder surgery, and they were extremely accommodating with appointment times and very careful with him and his limited mobility. I have a Golden Retriever and have had a hard time finding someone who cuts her just right. These ladies nailed it! They did a great job. Also, they are flexible regarding drop off. I don't want my dog in a crate for six hours waiting to be groomed. I was able to drop her off and pick her up in a reasonable amount of time. We love this place! Our fur-baby Hudson is 6 months old and he has come here twice to be groomed. I love that it is very open and the doggies can run around and play amidst all the grooming. It is so cute and clearly the ladies who work here adore dogs. I know Hudson has a blast every time he goes because when we get home, he is exhausted from all of his play! This location is convenient, he is clearly well loved here, and they are all very nurturing. I loved his cut the first time, however, the second time was not the best. I am a new puppy parent and don't really know how to communicate exactly what I want for him. Next time, I'll definitely know to be more specific. Also, our pricing increased the second time so I'm not sure why. However, my boyfriend picked up the second time and didn't ask for a reason why.
