She went from perfectly healthy to on her death bed in two days... We went to two other vet clinics that charged outrageously and offered no payment plans or financial assistance. Her age disqualified her for any grants at UCD. There were no other treatment options- surgery or nothing, and I had already received an increase in my Care Credit limit specifically for this but didn't have enough after exam fees and diagnostics. We thought we were out of options. All Creatures SAVED HER LIFE! They were very fair and flexible as far as finances go and actually charged reasonable prices. Even more so, they offer a program called Cherry, which is basically a 'get now pay later' payment program. It's so simple and straightforward, and we literally got to choose exactly what the plan looks like. After running around with stress and anxiety, they were very quick with intake, and put her in surgery as soon as possible. The staff are SO ACCOMMODATING! The kindest and most understanding souls!!! We didn't want to leave her.. so we stayed. My fiancé requested to receive a call the second she comes out of surgery, and they let us come in immediately after even though it was the middle of the night. He stayed in the exam room and SLEPT on the floor with her while I slept in the car. Next morning she was supposed to be discharged but unfortunately had to stay all day to stabilize. And best believe we were there the entire time. They brought us refreshments and checked in on us regularly from 2am after surgery to 5pm when she was discharged. We bombarded the space the entire time and made home there as long as our girl was there. I know that's a little weird, but they did not care!! They were so kind and friendly, very understanding and genuinely compassionate. I wish they were not just an ER. We would love to come here for her primary care!

I brought my dog here because he stopped eating due to constant vomiting out of nowhere…read more He is with banfield and his vet asked us where to go and i guess i picked this location because a friend had said they had a good experience (for completely different reasons; putting her dog down not get care). We were seen by a doctor, and basically said he needed to run more tests, my dog already got bloodwork / Xray / Parvo test and a pancreatitis test some done at VCA and some with banfield(which cost me approximately 1500 already). I was then told he needed to be hospitalized for 48 hours which cost upwards of 5k!! I'm pretty sure that's the charge for monitoring, medications for 2 days and IV. They charge for the hospital stay, they charge for the doctor's time and a bunch of other stuff that should be included in the "hospital stay" but they literally charge you more on top of that. I was hard pressed but what is a dog dad to do? I paid it. But before that as the vet was giving me my options, I told him the quote of 4500 was way too much and it's not like people have thousands lying around, he said humane euthanasia. it bothered me but it didn't bother me as much as recently because now my dog is doing much better. I refused the ultra sound and other stuff they wanted to do. All they did was give him Zofran and IV and tried to feed him food.. after 2 days of IV my dog was better. I took him back to banfield and I agreed to giving him panoquel shots for his pancreatitis as he has not ate for 3 weeks and vomited everyday at this point and if he did not improve, I was going to put him down. He started to eat after the 1st shot (300 dollars - 3 sets for 900). I came back for second shot. He kept improving so I did the 3rd shot. Hospitalization was Aug 23, today is Sept 19. My dog is thriving and he is gaining his weight back. I've put him on a better diet since. My banfield vet said that it was most likely a severe pancreatitis episode. So all the tests, getting told humane euthanasia, all the hospitalization, spending about 5k at insight for not even a surgery, just IV, Zofran and "48 hour stay" which i could only afford a 36 hour stay, and it was just pancreatitis... ALL THESE TESTS AND WANTED MORE TESTS. How much tests do you need??? It seemed to me they wanted to run every test possible and not much diagnosing. The vet techs are nice but I have some serious concerns for other pet owners. GET pet insurance or just don't have pets at all. This was a nightmare of an experience for me, and I can't imagine going back here or recommending this place.

Unfortunately yesterday everything was going fine until he had a bowel movement, shortly after he started to whine, cry and show signs of severe uncomfortableness, lethargy, it was gut wrenching to see this tiny helpless thing I already love so much be so uncomfortable. I called the vet we are meant to see and they could not fit us in but recommended veterinary urgent care and Surgery in Cameron Park. I immediately just started driving there scared for my puppies well-being. While driving I called and they were able to get me an appointment right away, basically the time it took for me to drive there. They tested us from the car for parvo (thank god is was negative) so we were brought into a room. The vet tech was extremely nice, thorough, endearing, empathetic (as I was a blubbering mess worried about my tiny 4lbs puppy) she got her report ready and brought the dr in. He was even kind and empathetic to my worry and concern. We went over everything. From the day I got him to what possibilities it could be. They gave me options, information and we picked a treatment plan after an exam of my puppy. I was sent home with medications, directions and feeling so much relief that they cared for my dogs wellbeing and how I felt as an owner. Upon leaving and check out and the girls at the front came together to chat with us, and say goodbye. We talked a little about how cute he is his breed type and then reassured us to call if we need anything or have any questions. I will absolutely be a returning customer should an emergency come up again. Completely unrelated but when I went to grab my dog from the techs arms after they took him in back to give him a couple shots I could smell her subtle perfume(it smelt amazing) as we had to be shoulder to shoulder. I politely asked her what it was and she told me. Not vet related but something small / important to me. This small kind interactions made me feel like a real person to them instead of a ticket number.

One time being when my dog's face was incredibly swollen out of the blue, and in extreme pain with what I thought was a bug bite but was a rattlesnake bite. Dr. K immediately stepped in preformed lifesaving treatment on my dog. Another time my puppy came down with pneumonia, Dr. K took her age into consideration when coming up with a treatment plan, just didn't throw random antibiotics at her and hope for the best, but took into consideration how they might affect her growth long term. She recovered beautifully. When one of my dogs went in for a surgery and was having a difficult time in recovery, Dr. K, reached out and said "I need you back here to sit with him, he's a bit stressed"...that's not normal protocol! Dr K, cares deeply for the animals he treats, they're just not another animal to him. And it shows every time I'm there. While some may say their prices are expensive, please remember that you get what you pay for, when it comes to expertise and care. Your loved one is the best hands, and they have proven that to me time and time again.

As you can imagine, this was devastating. During our consultation, we were told that due to her age and potential surgical risks, she could potentially live for some time without surgery. Based on that information, we made the heartbreaking decision not to operate. We were told that the mass could rupture externally. However, we were never informed that it could rupture internally or that a sudden, catastrophic decline was a possibility. Shortly after the diagnosis, the mass ruptured internally. When we called the office, we were told to "watch and see how she does." There was no urgency conveyed. However, after doing some research, I learned that internal rupture of a tumor is often considered a medical emergency. We insisted on bringing her in. The clinic was busy and we waited. When she was finally seen, we were told she likely had only days left. We were heartbroken but prepared for a gradual decline. Instead, within hours of bringing her home, her condition rapidly deteriorated. She became immobile and began passing blood. We rushed her to an emergency vet later that evening. She began seizing, convulsing, and was clearly in extreme pain. Her body was shutting down, and we had to make the decision to euthanize her that night. What made this even harder was feeling completely unprepared. We were never informed that internal rupture or a rapid, catastrophic decline could occur. Had we understood the full risks, we may have made different decisions to prevent the suffering she experienced in her final hours. We also found their pricing to be significantly higher than other veterinarians in the area. Since this experience, we have transitioned to another local vet who has provided more thorough communication, compassionate care, and noticeably more reasonable pricing. The difference in both cost and quality of care has been night and day. That night was one of the most traumatic experiences of our lives. Watching our dog suffer in that way is something we will never forget. I hope this review encourages others to ask very direct questions about internal rupture risks, emergency scenarios, and worst-case outcomes when discussing serious diagnoses, and to compare pricing before committing to care. 1 star.

When I arrived, I was told they weren't old enough for vaccines after all -- so my time and money were completely wasted. Then the vet tried to scare me into thinking my kittens would get seriously ill if I didn't approve a long list of expensive tests -- blood work, stool tests, and more -- which totaled in the thousands. When I declined, they made me feel like a bad pet parent. One of my kittens was just a little bloated from food, but instead of discussing her current diet, they immediately tried to upsell me on costly "special" food.
