I purchased the care club for my dog last year. Multiple times throughout the year, I inquired and made clear that I wanted to take advantage of the care club to get the next round of vaccines. Multiple times I was assured this would be no problem. When I made the appt a few weeks ago, i again reiterated that I wanted to get the shots done before the end of her membership. The appt was made for this morning. After I made the arrangements - rearranging my day to make the appt work - and after waiting to get in, I was told that the membership expired 5 days ago and therefor I would have to renew in order to use the benefit!!! ARE YOU **IN KIDDING ME? No. I verbalized my intentions every. single. time. I talked with their office. And every single time, I was assured that the benefit would cover. The fact that they chose to schedule me for a date that was outside the window feels like a bait and switch!

We have been given every excuse possible, literally for what could be wrong with him with no test done no thorough exam or anything. All the other veterinarians and offices cared about was collecting money from us and making sure that we made future appointments so they can collect more money for us all the while our poor baby was in pain! She figured it out on the first try he has something called a Luxating patella! Basically his knee cap shifts out of place constantly! She was absolutely amazing. She was caring, and her vet tech was so nurturing to biscuit not only that but the front desk was literally the friendliest most honest amazing front desk that I have ever been to one of the ladies even explained to me how her dog had to have knee surgery also I am just really thankful for this veterinarian clinic. Anybody who speaks ill on them has not met Dr. Wright because I'm telling you right now she's probably saved my dog.

Didn't know what to think, his body language was uncomfortable because his tail was down and he seemed a little lethargic, on top of no appetite. I chalked it up to him maybe just not feeling well enough to eat at the moment. When we got home, however, he still showed disinterest in us and his food. Then he tried to use the litter box and strained. Emergency Vet time. We went to VEG for some tests and an x ray and things looked okay which was great news! No blockage to be seen. But another day goes by and he still keeps straining. And I also noticed his tail isn't really down due to discomfort, it's down because it seems to be paralyzed. I called VEG and they directed me to wait to take him to a family vet the next morning, which was a Friday. I called into work and did as directed, taking him to a family vet. Told them about his straining, and his tail. They did another x-ray, and gave me no answers. Honestly, they cost us $450 to leave with more questions than answers. He does poop that night though, so we're a bit at ease throughout Saturday and Sunday. On Monday morning, he once again doesn't wake me up after waking me up the last couple mornings for breakfast. I get to check on him and try to offer him some food. He doesn't take it, but paces between the litter boxes, straining over 10 times in the span of 20 minutes. I didn't get the answers I need from the vet we visited on Friday, so I google vets in my area and click on the very first one I'm shown. I called up GoodVets and ended up breaking down trying to explain to the receptionist what Shino's conditions and symptoms have been. They were very compassionate towards me and set me up with a 4pm drop off. I get there, still in tears. The receptionist checks Shino in and gets us in a room and brings me a water, then sends in a tech. I can't remember the names of the tech or the receptionist but they were both extremely compassionate to me and empathetic about Shino. I give the tech the rundown and leave Shino with her. Dr. Boone calls before 4pm and gives me all the info he found. Shino seems to have a tail pull injury which has affected how efficiently he can have bowel movements by himself. Dr. Boone prescribed a liquid laxative and pain meds for Shino, and answered all mine and my partner's questions and concerns. Shino has had at least one bowel movements as of Tuesday night (yay!!) and seems a lot more comfortable since coming home from GoodVets. I've never been so happy to have a cat pawing my face and meowing endlessly until I get out of bed to feed him. I fully intend to transfer the records of my other cats to GoodVets and have them as our fuzzy families primary veterinary. The gist of my review: the receptionist and tech I was able to speak with were both incredibly compassionate and empathetic, and Dr. Boone was knowledgeable and really eased my nerves about Shino's well being. I left with my questions answered.

We were able to book an appointment for our pup online, set up the pet portal and forward records before the appointment which was very helpful. I hope I never have to visit an emergency veterinary hospital again, but if I do, I won't hesitate…read moreto bring my dog back to Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. My dog, Violet, was brought in in critical condition with what was ultimately diagnosed as an Addisonian crisis. She required several days in the ICU with around-the-clock monitoring, blood pressure support, constant bloodwork, and incredible nursing care. There were moments when we truly didn't know if she was going to make it. The entire team treated her as if she were their own. Every doctor, technician, assistant, and client service representative we interacted with was compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in her recovery. They answered our questions, kept us updated, celebrated every small improvement with us, and never made us feel like we were just another case. The team all expressed their love for Violet, and how much they would miss her (while still thrilled she was getting to come home!) Emergency veterinary medicine is expensive, there's no getting around that. Our bill was over $5,000, and that's a significant amount of money. But after seeing the level of expertise, the advanced equipment, the 24-hour monitoring, and the dedication of the staff who quite literally saved Violet's life, I understand what that cost represents. I would make the same decision again without hesitation. Today, Violet is home, eating with enthusiasm, sleeping in her own (our) bed, and continuing her recovery because of the care she received at Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. Thank you for giving us more time with our girl. We will never forget what you did for our family.

Vet techs Valerie and Hagen need training on how to handle dogs. They wouldn't bring in a mat for our dog to stand on. We told them he is a senior and the floor is slippery. Our dog was fine when he walked in and could barely walk to the car after being twisted and restrained. We took him to an animal chiropractor, and now he is walking again, and moving better. We first went to this clinic after moving back to KC. We saw Dr. Gabriella, I don't know what happened to her, then another doctor had his name on our receipt for a toenail trim. I have seen 4 vet techs come and go during the 4 months we went there. The high staff turnover tells me this clinic is poorly managed. We ordered Heartguard through their website, Dr. Sparrow cancelled and redid our order without consulting with us. This is unethical. We had to go in to the clinic to find out what happened with the charges on our credit card, because we couldn't get a straight answer over the phone. Thumbs down to Dr Sparrow, when we described the incident with the new vet techs she tried to talk us into getting tests run on our dog!!! She wasn't even interested in the fact that our dog was injured at the clinic!

What sets them apart is that they always do what is best for the dog and not just what is standard or easiest. My sweet Chloe had significant anxiety, was not a fan of strangers, and struggled with leash aggression. From the very beginning, the team met her exactly where she was. Instead of automatically taking her to the back for testing, they worked with me and performed exams and testing in the room with me assisting, which made a huge difference for her comfort level. If an appointment ever became too much for her, we stopped because their priority was keeping it a positive, low-stress experience. Their attention to detail was incredible. They kept thorough notes and truly knew Chloe...how to enter the room, how to speak to her, how to get down to her level, and how to help her feel safe. They also worked closely with me to find the right medications to help manage her anxiety, which greatly improved her quality of life. Because of the care and trust they built over time, going to the vet became a "happy" experience for her. Almost like a treat. That meant everything to me, especially when it came time for her end-of-life care. Despite being in pain, Chloe was calm, comfortable, and able to enjoy all the final treats. The process was incredibly peaceful and handled with so much compassion, even in such an emotional moment. Union Hill Animal Hospital treats your pets like family and truly sees them as individuals. I will forever be grateful for the care they gave Chloe and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary team that leads with empathy, patience, and heart.
