Best veterinarian around. I've always been treated well and so have my dogs. I would highly recommend paying them a visit.

It was short tho & Kinley came to take us to the room which was large, clean & well equipped. We began discussing Gracie's arthritis & I looked over to see the vet on the floor engaging with my dog! Dr. Holstrom was so kind & extremely thorough with Gracie's exam. I had questions about some lumps & how to treat them. She gave me several options & explained them thoroughly. We reviewed all of Gracie's health matters. Head to toe. The Dr. & Kinley really made me feel like they cared about Gracie & her well being. They were so great with my dog, but also fantastic with me, too. It was so nice to talk with them. This was my first visit to Pleasant Valley & they've got it ALL right. Lovely, clean, well maintained building & exam rooms; warm, friendly receptionists; short wait times; knowledgeable Dr. who is as good with people as she is with animals; technology (a very useful & easy to use app); & all these people are loving on my dog every step of the way. This is our retirement home so we are customers forever! I have already recommended Pleasant Valley to family and friends!

We have three dogs in our family, two of whom have some kind of crazy skin Allergy (with…read moreinflammation) in their paws and on lower legs. We brought these two dogs to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and we were so extremely impressed and wonderfully treated. Regrettably, one of our dogs is in fairly serious condition and the vet there recommended that we take him to a specialty veterinarian clinic that has an internist type physician for dogs to address his significant problems. What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. So, the bottom line here is, if you want a veterinarian that is more concerned about the health and well being of your animal, rather thanher profit margins, I recommend that you take your animals to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and have a Veterinarian with incredible knowledge and integrity there take care of your pets. Truly impressive, truly inspiring, we couldn't be more grateful.

Compassionate and thorough care! I got on here to finally…read morewrite my review of Dr. Slyter from several other visits that I had taken my pets in to see him, and saw a previous review that was very negative. I wanted to try and give people another perspective about Dr. Slyter and his practice. Dr. Slyter has seen both my dogs and I even brought my son's cat over from another town. I recently moved here from Texas. I have a different perspective about Dr. Slyter's office and it's appearance. The vet I took my dog to in Texas had an office that looked like a day spa. It was by far the most fabulous looking office I had ever seen. Initially that made me feel great. I later came to understand why it was so elegant. It came out of my pocket book and many other's like me. The first thing I appreciated about Dr. Slyter was that we had a thorough discussion about each of my pets when I brought them in for the first time. They have had serious, complex medical conditions and he went over multiple different possible options for moving forward, but he was just as clear about telling me the limitations involved in running each test, along with the expense. I had already begun to believe that most of my dog's health conditions were caused by overly aggressive veterinary care and treatments before I took my dogs in. I never had unhealthy pets until I had pets I was in the position financially to get everything they were 'supposed' to have on schedule. So personally I was thrilled that there was no pressure for me to do this, or try that, the options were laid out for me and whatever I chose to do was clearly acceptable to him. I can only speak for my experience with Dr. Slyter and my pets, but what I most appreciated was the amount of time he spent assessing them and discussing the options with me. On each occasion I have been there I have never once felt rushed to make any decision with their complex conditions. His approach seems to be more of the 'old school' veterinary approach and none of the constant up-sell that I experienced from the 'day spa' veterinary clinics I took my pets to in Texas. Having read the other review, I can say from my perspective I am now relieved when I see/hear a doctor or vet not push antibiotics too readily. It's a difference in approach. I used to also feel irritated when I saw a doctor or vet and they did not offer antibiotics or something in an office visit because it didn't feel like I was 'doing anything' proactive. There is always a risk involved in not treating, but there are also risks involved with treating. We now understand that if we can avoid antibiotics it's best, because it wipes out both the good and bad gut bacteria. It may be appropriate to use them when necessary but having learned the hard way with my pets, and with my own health, I am pleased when I see a vet or a doctor not immediately prescribe them. The office itself is older and by no means like a day spa, but on the occasions I was there I did not notice it being unclean or unsanitary. The most important thing to me has been the amount of time Dr. Slyter spent evaluating my pets and discussing my concerns. I have been in there on several occasions now, including an emergency situation when my small dog was attacked by a German Shepherd. I can't imagine taking my vets elsewhere.

Dr. Cram and his new staff member, Dr. Maason, are compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough professionals. Their staff is the same, especially longtime vet tech, Jan. Lilly is fond of spreading out on the reception desk like a hood ornament and swishing her tail over receipts and reports. I have no hesitation in recommending these vets and their hospital.

She was adopted once before and brought back because the family had too young of kids for a 4 month old kitty. We found Meeny at a PetSmart event that Bonner Animal Rescue was at and I fell in love. I couldn't stop thinking about that sweet kitty that I knew I was going to bring home some day and be her forever home. About 2 weeks later, we called the shelter, set an appointment, and went to the appointment ready to give a kitty her forever home and the volunteers were very nice, passionate, and most of all they loved volunteering! We were there for about an hour visiting with Meeny making sure she was the right fit for us and 5 minutes later we were signing papers. After we signed papers, we left without a cat knowing that the next day, we would have a spoiled-rotten cat that loves chicken, and went to the store and got everything she would need and went home to get everything set up for her to enter her new life! When we went back the next day to pick up our kitty, she was all ready to go and all that was left was to pick her up and get things finalized. Meeny had a little bit of a scare, she thought I looked like a dog with my hat on and she got so scared she hissed and peed on one of the owners. When I took my hat off, she was all lovey again and she was ready to go. We also had another scare with a bell she was unfamiliar with and we went all around the shelter trying to find where Meeny, a tiny kitten, had gone. We brought out some "cookies" (treats) and she came right back. Meeny was our perfect match for our small family. If you are in the Bonner area and are wanting to adopt or foster a sweet, innocent animal(s) or want to volunteer or donate, go to Bonner Animal Rescue!!
