I purchased the care club for my dog last year. Multiple times throughout the year, I inquired and made clear that I wanted to take advantage of the care club to get the next round of vaccines. Multiple times I was assured this would be no problem. When I made the appt a few weeks ago, i again reiterated that I wanted to get the shots done before the end of her membership. The appt was made for this morning. After I made the arrangements - rearranging my day to make the appt work - and after waiting to get in, I was told that the membership expired 5 days ago and therefor I would have to renew in order to use the benefit!!! ARE YOU **IN KIDDING ME? No. I verbalized my intentions every. single. time. I talked with their office. And every single time, I was assured that the benefit would cover. The fact that they chose to schedule me for a date that was outside the window feels like a bait and switch!

We have been given every excuse possible, literally for what could be wrong with him with no test done no thorough exam or anything. All the other veterinarians and offices cared about was collecting money from us and making sure that we made future appointments so they can collect more money for us all the while our poor baby was in pain! She figured it out on the first try he has something called a Luxating patella! Basically his knee cap shifts out of place constantly! She was absolutely amazing. She was caring, and her vet tech was so nurturing to biscuit not only that but the front desk was literally the friendliest most honest amazing front desk that I have ever been to one of the ladies even explained to me how her dog had to have knee surgery also I am just really thankful for this veterinarian clinic. Anybody who speaks ill on them has not met Dr. Wright because I'm telling you right now she's probably saved my dog.

My dog, Violet, was brought in in critical condition with what was ultimately diagnosed as an Addisonian crisis. She required several days in the ICU with around-the-clock monitoring, blood pressure support, constant bloodwork, and incredible nursing care. There were moments when we truly didn't know if she was going to make it. The entire team treated her as if she were their own. Every doctor, technician, assistant, and client service representative we interacted with was compassionate, patient, and genuinely invested in her recovery. They answered our questions, kept us updated, celebrated every small improvement with us, and never made us feel like we were just another case. The team all expressed their love for Violet, and how much they would miss her (while still thrilled she was getting to come home!) Emergency veterinary medicine is expensive, there's no getting around that. Our bill was over $5,000, and that's a significant amount of money. But after seeing the level of expertise, the advanced equipment, the 24-hour monitoring, and the dedication of the staff who quite literally saved Violet's life, I understand what that cost represents. I would make the same decision again without hesitation. Today, Violet is home, eating with enthusiasm, sleeping in her own (our) bed, and continuing her recovery because of the care she received at Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. Thank you for giving us more time with our girl. We will never forget what you did for our family.

The staff was patient with me on the day of the surgery, kept me informed and moved my dog through the process efficiently. She survived the anesthesia, cleaning and extractions and should enjoy a few more years of life with clean breath and no pain. Dental work is expensive because it is time consuming and requires surgical skill to close wounds at extraction sites. The work done on my dog was necessary and reasonably priced. It is a wonderful office with friendly techs and knowledgable doctors. I would rate it SIX STARS.

I first brought Charlie in shortly after moving to the area, and during that first visit we got difficult news about a mass. Dr. Wilson handled that moment with so much compassion and honesty, which meant a lot. From then on, I brought Charlie in regularly, and I always felt like we were in good hands. Dr. Wilson was patient, thoughtful, and took the time to explain everything clearly. When it came time to say goodbye, she made a very hard experience as peaceful as it could be. Her kindness and empathy really stood out. I truly appreciate the whole team and would absolutely trust them again with a future pet.

My cat was dropped off for a scheduled 8:00 AM spay appointment and was required to fast beginning at 10:00 PM the night before. I was instructed to return at 3:00 PM for pickup, but after arriving on time, I waited approximately 90 minutes while six customers who arrived after me received their cats first. Throughout the wait, I repeatedly asked for updates and was told someone would be "right out." It was not until I went inside and insisted on answers that I learned my cat's surgery had not even been performed yet!!! The procedure ultimately took place around 5:00 PM, nearly nine hours after her scheduled appointment time. Communication was poor throughout the entire process. There was also confusion regarding my bill, and I was initially charged for the wrong package. While I understand that delays can happen, customers deserve honest communication and timely updates, especially when their pets have been fasting all day and undergoing surgery. My cat is home and recovering, but the lack of organization, transparency, and respect for customers' time made this a very frustrating experience. Based on my experience, I would have chosen my local veterinarian instead.

The Johnson County-based member of the big 3 that includes Wayside and KC Pet Project. We found our rescue puppy here and couldn't be happier with the process and location. Very accommodating for visiting with kids with spotless private rooms to socialize. We appreciated the overnight hold option where you pay (donate) a nominal amount to not feel rushed and ensure the whole family could sleep on it before coming back the next day for the homecoming. The shelter is often overshadowed by Wayside Waifs, which also does a great job, however this facility and team are excellent for both dogs and cats. The Merriam location also has a small retail store that you can gear up new adoptions. As you would expect, adoption fees (donations!) are much higher for puppies and kittens than the less cuddly teens and pre-teens. Note: In prior years they offered a veterinary office that was open to the public, but those services are now reserved only for the in-house clientele (ahem - bob barker...). Some of the folks there were helpful but others seemed like they didn't want you to be there. No help in the dog area at all. It's like you are at an outside mall that only allows window shopping. Not a friendly place that would make me want to adopt an animal. I do feel bad for the animals there. I'm hoping they pay more attention to them than the people coming into the shelter to adapt them.
