For all the good care our dog has received I realize you can only be as good as your staff. One of the technicians is incredible! She belongs there. The other is forcing us to seek care elsewhere. When I communicate saying that I need the vet to call me regarding our dogs care and make sure that it's my number I feel like I'm being clear. Alex didn't care. Twice in the same day she did NOT relay the message properly. I didn't hear about the care for over a week. When I went in to pick up the herbs I was CHARGED FOR A CONSULTATION!!!!! Really? $30 for a message that was not delivered to me? Bye bye! I hope the vet can duplicate what Jenny offers to retain clients. read more

REAL RATING- I have to agree with Gail and Caley B. about This place. This guy is very weird. I wouldn't trust him leaving my pet there!! NO WAY Dr j! He will do whatever is easier for him without regard for a scared injured pet! I found out that he has a 3 hour course of acupuncture only. Is that a joke? He didn't listen to the symptoms I was telling him, he just cut me off and said every problem is related to one thing. Well that one thing has been fixed, but guess what, symptoms didn't improve! Wrong diagnosis. Sold me a bunch of useless tinctures that did nothing. This guy is a quack for sure. I'm not sure he knows anything about chiropractic, acupuncture, or tinctures at all. Then he sells me an already opened bottle of some pills and pretends like he just opened it to show me how to sprinkle a capsule. C'mon are you seriously trying to pull one over on me like that? I'm passed kindergarten. CREEPY GUY. DON'T TRUST HIM. He has a malicious side he tries to hide! All the goof ratings are wrong. read more

After 3 regular vets could find nothing wrong with my 10 year old doodle, I turned to Animalkind. Wish I'd brought him to see Dr. Jeff ages ago. Our dog was wasting away, shaking, and losing hair all over. Other vets just said it was arthritis and Rx'd NSAIDs and gabapentin. In the first moments of looking at my dog, Dr. Jeff said, "that looks like a thyroid issue." And that's exactly what it was. My poor dog. 5 years of slowly getting worse, and within THREE DAYS of seeing Dr. Jeff (and getting off of kibble) he hardly had any shaking in his legs, had more energy, was no longer trying to eat everything and anything to get some nutrition. Today, at just five days later, he's so much more like his old self. Calm, playful, not full of anxiety. He's not even at the full dose of his Rx'd herbs, but already doing better. Two morals to this story, 1. Kibble is horrible. 2. If your dog has hair loss, dry skin, and losing weight... insist they test for thyroid issues. Three vets missed that completely with our dog. The last few years could have been so much happier and less stressful for all of us if we'd known this. Dr. Jeff and his staff are AWESOME. Kind and thoughtful. I'm certain Dr. Jeff saved our dog's life. Don't wait until you're desperate for help and will "try anything". The AnimalKind way is definitely a better way to go than the conventional way... which was utterly useless for helping us. read more

Dr. Judkins helped both of my cats. One had something (likely a grass blade) stuck in her throat which was making her gag and kept her from eating dinner and then breakfast again the next day (she would try, but then would gag and would stop - she is not a finicky cat - she LOVES to eat). Other vet offices were talking about having to put her under and use a scope, but Dr. J squeezed me in (was fully booked that day), and did a visual observation. He didn't see anything and thought her throat may be irritated from whatever it was. He did a quick acupuncture treatment which calmed her down and when we got home she ate a full meal and seemed fine again and has been fine since. A few months later, the other cat was getting strange sores but was otherwise healthy. I thought he had ringworm. Dr. J said it looked more like overgrooming. I agreed because it was deep winter and the cats weren't getting any activity (he's a very active cat and gets bored easily). Dr. J gave us an herbal tincture for use 2X day and the sores healed without any new ones developing. He also diagnosed a heart murmur and asked if he'd had one since a kitten. He had not, so Dr. J was worried about heart disease. He prescribed a supplement and said that the cat should lose a little weight (at least 1 lb) and that we get him off of dry food (even though it was a high quality expensive grain-free brand, it's still processed food and carb intensive). We swapped the dry food for a raw frozen food (which I cook because my cats won't eat it raw). The cat has had a miraculous turnaround. He lost nearly 3 lbs and has so much more energy than before (he had good energy, but apparently he is super kitty and we didn't know it :-). He is really fit and trim now, and so vibrant and playful. All these results for both cats with holistic therapies, no drugs (nor drug side effects!). Thank you Dr. Judkins. read more

My cocker spaniel began having seizures at 13 and one half years of age. He had never had seizures. We tried standard medicines, but he was lacking his usual energies, slept constantly. During a ordinary walk, I realized he was obviously actually suffering. My vet said he did not agree with Chinese herbal approaches to treatment for seizures in dogs but Dr. Judkins in Jacksonville did offer these if this was my choice. This is how I became a client of Dr. Judkins of Animalkind Holistic Vet clinic in Jacksonville, Oregon. This turned out to be a cruel mistake on my part and my little dog did suffer the consequences. I am sure he could lived pain free and longer if I had kept using a high quality human grade CBD oil. The Chinese herbals never helped a bit. In hindsight I wish I had never went to Dr. Judkins. I do agree the high quality grade of CBD oil a friend suggested I try did offer relief to my dog. CBD oil definitely helped my dog have fewer and less severe seizures as well as feel better. Dr. Judkins did not offer good or careful medical care. He was actually deliberately negligent and cruel. Anyone who goes to this vet for treatment of their animal must know he has to be supervised. Any client should be aware of what he might do. I had to figure it out, and my dog suffered when I could not realize what had happened. Dr. Judkins left a acupuncture probe lodged in the flesh of his neck and throat. The Oregon Board of Veterinary Examiners will not address any actions of vets using Chinese Herbal treatments and acupunctures. If the vet uses these, he might charge, but there is no over sight if he does great or horrible. This needs to change. Even deliberate actions. He risks nothing, the client and especially the dog, risks everything. I was ignorant of this. I thought Dr. Judkins was offering vet care in good faith. I can not believe how this happened when I finally put it together how he harmed my dog. I trusted because he has a office and a license to practice veterinary medicine. I lost my little dog and he suffered unnecessarily. During a second exam, He asked if he could try some acupuncture. I said No. He encouraged, saying he wanted to try something for a dry throat condition he was sure my dog suffered. He said he would not charge for the treatment. I thought he was interested in my dog's health. I never should have agreed. In fact, he used acupuncture on my dog for a condition my dog didn't show obvious symptoms of and I never asked him to treat my dog for in the first place. My dog did not have reverse hiccup, but for only a occasional one time cough in late night air, he diagnosed him with reverse hiccup and dry throat. All I could see was Dr. Judkins had poked him with a finger on his neck. My little dog was half terrier and cocker spaniel--not a dog to cry out easily over a minor hurt at all. A poke on his neck should not hurt. I immediately leaped from the chair and asked Dr. Judkins why did my dog cry. As time went by and I hoped for a full recovery for my dog, I began to notice he did not bend his neck to lick his hind body areas or scratch his ears and neck as he may have done before and laid with his head forward and neck straight instead of curled when he slept. I noticed he swallowed his food carefully several different times as if he experienced tenderness in his throat as food moved down. Days before my dog died, I petted him on the neck and he cried in pain. Any flesh infection would not help his heart condition. A grade 2 heart murmur when we began seeing Dr. Judkins, and Judkins did note with remarks in his medical chart from the first exam. These notes are in the copies of records he gave me, but he still claimed he had no knowledge my dog had any heart condition. When my dog died six and one half months after our first visit to Judkins, his heart condition was much worse. I attribute the neck injury as a factor working on his general health and his heart. My dog had a low grade heart murmur which did not change for most of his adult life, in six months it becomes more complicated to a six or higher from a murmur of a two. I have had to think this all through. He never cared about my dog's recovery. He uses Chinese herbals for his own mental abilities and connects to marijuana growers. Street drugs? He is a liar and a creep. A drug dealer. He exploits dog owners claiming to cure cancer with Chinese herbs. He is a con man. read more

Visit this veterinarian (is she a real veterinarian?!!) at your pet's own risk! I was new to the area, and since my dog needs acupuncture, I gave this clinic a try. I was charged significantly more for my first visit than I was told it would cost when I called to make the appointment. For the second appointment, Dr. Love said at least 4 times that she was doing new trigger points. Immediately after the treatment, while I was at the receptionist's desk, my dog fell over twice, appearing to have seizures. My dog has never had a seizure before or after this experience. Dr. Love's first words were "It's nothing that I did, I didn't do anything different, It's not neurological." Then she pushed her up on her feet, pushed her out the door into the parking lot, put her feet in the correct positions, then said she was fine. My dog did not walk normally for nearly 1 week, and another veterinarian said that the issue had clearly been neurological and caused by something that was done during the acupuncture treatment. I have had wonderful acupuncturists for my dog before and after visiting this ridiculous quack. read more
