One of the cheapest spots in the city to pick up a board game. The pros are they have a massive collection, a giant library filled with rows and rows of games and collectibles. If I'm in the area, I used to stop by to peruse because I'm that kind of geek. I honestly haven't made them exercise their customer service skills because I research my board games and know exactly what I want. But I can see that newbies could be overwhelmed with all the options coming in. We decided to buy a board game for a friend's child, age 6. My boyfriend ran off to find a game at Meeple without consulting me first. He came out empty-handed, saying there was nothing suitable for that age range. I'm SURPRISED. There's a board game for everything there. I'm not an expert for games for six-year-olds, so I just Googled, found a dad blog and decided Catan Junior was it and purchased online here. They processed our order immediately and were ready for pick up the same day if needed. The truth is my BF was about to check out at Indigo, which is 30% more before I reminded him to check at Meeple again for prices. The only difference *I think* is the packaging art is slightly different and the box is larger at Meeple. If their staff actively asks every customer walking in and tries to help, they can convert more casual or newbie gamers--what a lost opportunity.

I first stumbled upon this store at a booth at anime North but was pleased to find out it was located in Oakville. I ended up going in and trading a couple of my pokemon trading cards and grabbing a new elite trainer box with the credit. The staff were helpful in explaining the process. To summarize, for trade credit they prefer newer gen cards (Sun and moon and newer). Additionally they prefer cards in near mint condition. If you have one that meets the requirements, they will trade you right in store for 77% credit or 66% cash using their online portal. The whole thing was pretty smooth and seamless. It does take time to trade the cards in store so allocate time accordingly. I would say the box sets are marked up a quite a bit from pokemon center pricing but it's all dependent on the hype. (Pokemon is hot right now!)

When inquiring I got the answer order anyway, and request refund if it doesn't meet standards. No? I'm not risking buying a product that may or may not meet standard. They list product as "played" so that could mean anything. I ended up ordering 4 near mint cards but some of them were light play in my opinion. This is where scans on the site would help the consumer if they don't want to help the consumer when inquiring about a product. Nothing I ordered was over 10 bucks a piece but I probably won't be trusting their near mint conditioning anymore and will choose another site over this one when ordering cards. The letter mail is also slow. Took exactly 2 weeks to get to my door and that's within the same province. Average experience overall. If near mint to you is more than a couple white dots on the card you will be satisfied. If not, choose wisely.

It means getting them on the table those few days earlier, and in the world of board gaming that can make a pretty big difference. It's a nice place to walk around. And you might even overhear the staff talking about how they can't tell time. And then talking about how silly it is that the others can't tell time. All you have to do is say what number the big hand is at, for the hour, and the small hand for the minutes. And then another staff talking about how that's not right at all. It's cute. It's quirky. It was piles and piles and shelves full of comics from marvel to mangas and also a lot of Funko Pop toys. They even have a Rugrats comic... if ya know, ya know (hello 90's kid). Apparently they don't have live inventory on their website but you can come in and ask for help. The staff/owner was really friendly and welcoming. They will be having a Black Friday sale so if you're looking to score a deal, be sure to check it out soon. Now the store could be a bit more organized... but with so many comics, I don't know how else they can improve it. They also have a lot of dust in some of their shelves but the comics are fine.

I went there and the attendant was saying that the market had gone up. So I still spent a good amount of money for the benefit of the doubt but l got home and triple checked the market value of the items that I purchased and it actually dropped significantly in market value. There's a section in the back with a bunch of tables and chairs for tabletop gaming such as cards, board games, etc. If I didn't have to worry about traveling on a plane, there are many things in that store I could've purchased.
