We went down to Anini beach and Fred brought us paddleboards and unloaded everything for us which was so convenient and low stress for our group. We just rented the boards and didn't do any instruction since we've all done a lot of paddleboarding. The beach was gorgeous and the water was really warm and clear so we saw a lot of fish, corals and urchins. The only downside for us was our reservation was during low tide and it was VERY low at the time and pretty windy! We had to be really careful navigating around reef so we didn't damage the reef or the boards. I would recommend doing a quick check of the tide tables before you make your reservation. There's also no cell service down where you meet your boards, so be sure your whole party knows where they are going. read more

He met us right at the perfect location on the beach, a quiet, calm cove just right for our group of new and experienced paddlers. He was also really helpful with other recommendations on the island, including snorkeling, snorkel gear rental, and best locations. Totally chill, flexible, and a definite aloha vibe. Went to Kauai with my husband and 2 teenage daughters and Patrick showed us a nice location for Paddle boarding. The lagoon is beautiful and sheltered from strong winds.He also told us of the Festival in Princeville that day. It was a whole day of fun! Contacted him again when I traveled back with my friends and coworkers for "Self care and Mindfulness Conference" . We arrived at Anini Beach with the intention of snorkeling and swimming. We were thrilled to see a SUP rental truck! Patrick gave great service. This was one of my favorite activities! Patrick worked with our schedule and met us at the beach with boards suited to our skill level. Not a touristy feeling at all. Just our family, not a tour with a bunch of people. He gave us a quick lesson and took us out. We were allowed to go at our own pace and just enjoy the moment. We texted this business the night before we wanted to go paddle boarding at Anini Beach and Patrick got right back to us. He was able to accommodate our large family group and was very good at communicating about exactly where to meet him. He selected a calm spot, perfect for the beginners in our group, and it also happened to be a great place for the observing grandparents to sit in the shade. Patrick took time to explain the basics of paddle boarding to our group and gave us lots of good tips. He came back to check on us after an hour or so of paddle boarding- we were having a great time! We were staying in Kauai during a very stormy February and weren't sure if we were going to be able to do much snorkeling or paddleboarding. We stayed on the south side of the island and it was unseasonably rough :(. We heard that Anini was very calm and protected, and heard good things about Patrick. We took a chance going to the northshore during a stormy day and were so pleased to meet a super friendly Patrick and a beautiful breezy sunny day! Patrick was very accommodating and patient. He took his time reviewing how to paddleboard properly with us, and we got up on his boards right away! He also was very complimentary with our successes, and that made us feel very comfortable. He has some very stable beginner boards (I think they are called Nash boards). They are very wide and bouyant and very easy to handle. I had paddleboarded somewhere else once before for only 20 minutes, and the board was very thin and a lot less stable. These boards were easy breezy. My husband who had never paddleboarded got up right away as well. It was a simply gorgeous paddle. We saw some big colorful fat fish, an eagle ray, and some giant sea turtles. We paddled for a few miles and with the gentle breeze on our back it was magical. Can't wait to come back again and paddle some more. Two thumbs way up for Anini Paddleboard Rentals.
