This is a place that seems like it would be a tourist trap, but absolutely is not! Snorkel gear is $5 a day, perfect for a day snorkeling at Tunnels Beach. It's also very high-quality gear. We also got in-and-out in now time. Staff were dialed. They also have anything you could ever want for hiking and backpacking. About to start the Kalalau and forgot something? I cant speak for the rentals, but I saw the little sign below the main sign saying Hanalei Hat Co. and made a point to take a look after finishing our shave ice. Was not disappointed at all. I'm pretty particular and bought two hats, probably could have bought another one or two and would have been happy. My GF also bought two hats, one for her son who loved it. With our first set of snorkeling equip, the strap that holds the mask an snorkel together broke. We returned and were given another set. Believe it or not, the snorkel on second set leaked so back we went. Third time was the charm and the folks there were very nice about it. There's a parking lot at front that gets full as the day goes on, so go early or be prepared to walk a block or so. read more

Rented a double kayak for 1/2 day on Feb 14. Super easy to do so. Employee (don't know her name) was patient, friendly and helpful. Helped us get the kayak on the roof of our car and gave us directions on how to get to drop in site. Didn't give any warnings, scoldings, etc. Gave us life jackets but told us we don't have to wear them. Just said to have fun. Also threw in a wet bag for our cell phones, keys, etc. All for $30! Nice place in my favorite town of Hanalei. People were friendly. We rented beach cruisers for the week. The bikes are seriously a POS........ they do zero upkeep on them. They worked fine but the worst part is the rubber grips on the handlebars. They are so slimy and gross that our hands turned black and sticky from holding on to them. We actually decided to take them off and just ride the bikes without them and then we put them back on before we returned the bikes. $15 a day. $60 a week. Rent for more than 2 days and get a day free. Crusty bikes, but a convenient location if you are staying in Hanalei or Princeville. read more

Great location, great staff, great stuff. We rented snorkel gear. They said "keep it as many days as you want and pay when you bring it back." Perfect. Who knew how many beaches we would hit? We rented paddle boards at 9am a different day. "You can keep them until 4:30." My arms fell off after two hours of straight paddling... They put the boards on the top of our car, strapped them on and told us where to put in a mile away. We paddle boarded from the parking lot at Hanalei beach pier up the river. OMG felt like we were in a movie. What a backdrop! Towards the end we had to sit on our boards and paddle under low branch tunnels. We saw painted turtles and some neat birds. Some of the trees bordering the river where in pretty yellow bloom. Perfect day with the perfect gear from the perfect store with my perfect husbo. :) Did you barf yet? read more

Pretty much the only place to rent or purchase if you ever hike/camp in the Kauai/Hanalei area. Our group did the Kalalau hike and rented a few items from here as well as purchase fuel for our stoves and smaller items. Good service and easy to reserve gear over the phone.
