Such a sweetheart not only did he help me and our family but when he had free time or was available for a quick pick up or drop off he was there. David answered the phone, and assured me that he would be there waiting for my daughter. She called his cellphone after she landed, and he guided her to where he would pick her up. I will never use this shuttle service again, always running late, this last time was nearly an hour late with no apologies. They are overpriced considering the vehicles they use are so old and run down I always worry we will end up on the side of the freeway on my way to our flight. I am giving them one star because there isn't a no-star option. I would give them negative stars if I could. I would take stars other people have given them and fling them at Ann Arbor Airport Shuttle if that were possible. I made a reservation for Christmas Eve. I checked with the woman to make sure they were running. She made me nervous with the casual way she took my information, and I even had to call back because she failed to tell me how much it would cost and what types of payment they accept. I should have just walked away then. Skip to the night before I am scheduled to depart. I get a voicemail from Ann Arbor Airport shutting saying that they have made a mistake and do not operate on Christmas Eve after all and have CANCELED MY RESERVATION. Finding this to be unacceptable, I called them. I explained that my reservation had been cancelled only to have the customer service rep say "Yes, that's right. You're all set." YOU'RE ALL SET?!?! No I was not. I was as far away from being "set" as is possible. I explained that I was not the one who had cancelled, rather THEY were the ones. He said "Just a moment" and the line went dead. It is now the night before I am supposed to fly and I can't get in touch with the other shuttle company because they're experiencing high volume. I can honestly say that I had my best ever (out of many dozens) airport shuttle experience with this company. I made a last-minute trip overseas and had to get to leave to the airport by 7:00am on December 28th. I called around 1:00am...6 hours before. I had called a few other services and they weren't taking calls or had no cars, but this company has somebody at the phone 24/7 (which doesn't mean they are operating 24/7). And they had a driver for me. Excellent, but I've had experiences like those described below with other companies, so I was still hesitant to be confident. After all, in the piss-hole village of Ann Arbor mediocrity is considered high quality, so a budget shuttle might be a nightmare. The driver called 5-10 minutes ahead of time, arrived on time, helped me with my heavy luggage, and engaged in some interesting conversation the whole ride there. No bad smells or bad driving. No complaints at all. My experience was as good as it gets for an airport shuttle, and it was a good deal cheaper than the ones I usually use, so I can definitely recommend these guys based on my experience, but I can also believe that bad stories I read from others. read more

I called a few days ahead and booked for a rush-hour pickup near campus, and was given a 30 minute pickup window. I confirmed the day before, and they confirmed and narrowed it to 15. The morning of, I got a text message from the driver giving a five minute window. And he arrived right in the middle of that. I was at the airport 15 minutes earlier than quoted, well in time for my flight, and still $10 cheaper than the Uber average. I'm sorry the other folks had such a rough time, but I sure didn't. We called on a Sunday for a Wednesday ride to the airport. On Wednesday, the shuttle did not show up. When we called, they could not find our reservation. They said they would come by 9:45, which is 45 minutes later than what we scheduled. They were even late on top of that! They went to the wrong house then said we gave them the wrong address--as if we would get our own address wrong. Worst.Airport.Shuttle.Ever Our plane was a tad late getting into DTW, which was apparently our fault. The shuttle driver could not have been more rude. I regret not getting his name so that I could call/email the office and complain about him. Not only did he make us feel like it was our fault for "holding up the shuttle", but he was very condescending in general. The guy I spoke to at the office when I called to find out where the shuttle would be waiting was very friendly, but I will never use this service again because of the driver. I reserved the shuttle ahead of time for my flight arriving at 1am; the flight ended up getting delayed by a half hour so we arrived at 1:30am. When I landed, I gave them a call as soon as we landed and confirmed that my driver was waiting for me. But once I got my checked bag and called again, 20 min later, I was told the driver went home already. So much for my reservation. If you want reliability, choose another company. The taxi to Ann Arbor ended up being $55, only $10 more than what they charge. read more

The shuttle was over 25 minutes later arriving to the airport for pickup than I was told he'd be. Then he proceeded to get lost while trying to take me to the wrong address in Ann Arbor. He and the office staff on the phone were quite annoyed when I informed them that we were at the wrong address, even though it was their fault for writing down the address wrong from my form. The driver's English was mediocre, exacerbating the situation. When I was finally dropped off at the correct destination, more than 1 hour 45 minutes had passed since I had called them to notify them of my arrival at DTW. I was surprised to see the negative reviews, I've used them 4 times already, all have been quite enjoyable experiences.

The users who have complained about this service need to try other services for comparison first. Trust me: this is good stuff. If you're complaining about waiting 25min for a pick-up (from a shuttle service, mind you, not a private car) then you're using the wrong service. My driver was exceptionally nice, and already waiting for me when my flight arrived at 6:30 in the morning. He never charged me for extra bags (as the site said he could) and when I was dropped off, he carried the heavy bags from his van to my porch. It couldn't have been a nicer experience. If you're going to complain about waiting times or broken luggage, then take an expensive taxi. Otherwise this is hands-down the best shared shuttle service in town. read more

Our other airport option was unable to come, so needed to find an alternative. Ann Arbor Airport shuttle was recommended by another service that was fully booked. When I called, the responder was very cheerful and said yes he could get us to DTW for our 8:45 flight. He was on time and got us there in plenty of time. I actually created an account on Yelp so I could write this review for Ann Arbor Airport Shuttle. First, I made an online reservation three days prior to my trip but never received a confirmation. Just to be safe, I submitted another reservation but still heard nothing. When I called in the following day, they said they had not received anything from me at all. Unfortunately, I decided to go ahead and book with them anyway. The day of my scheduled ride, I was supposed to be picked up around 1pm. By the time 1:15 rolled around, I had heard nothing, no phone calls or emails from the company or my driver. I called the company back, and the woman on the other line informed me that for some reason, even though she remembers taking my reservation, it never went into the system. The next car would be here at 2:00pm, a full hour after I had scheduled. She even had the audacity to ask me if I could find another ride from one of my friends, so she would not have to send a driver all the way to get just me. It was so unbelievable that I cancelled my return trip with them, and I will definitely not be coming back to this company. read more

I made a reservation for this service on June 11th. The ride to Metro Airport was fine and uneventful, and the driver was great. However, I also required and reserved a pick up from Metro to take me back to Ann Arbor about 6 weeks later, and have the confirmation email about this, and no one, I mean no one was here or answered the phone, even after calling and leaving 5 messages! I am left stranded all night long after a very long day of traveling at Metro airport. No thank you! Do NOT use this company! First, they were supposed to pick me up between 10:45 and 11 and arrived at 11:30. I also had scheduled a round-trip for my return on Friday night. I explicitly said "PM" and "night" so that they would have the right time, but of course, they scheduled it for the morning and don't even operate at the time I needed to be picked up. I used the service to Ann Arbor and back to the airport, and it was fine. We were a group of 3 people. The shuttle picked up 2 of us at the North terminal, the third person at the McNamara terminal, without any extra charge. The shuttle was basically on time for pick up both ways. The driver from the airport did a good job of calling us and telling how to find the shuttle. The driver from Ann Arbor called to let us know about being 5 minutes late. read more

Last month I called Airport Shuttle when they didn't arrive at agreed upon time. Dave remembered taking my reservation but said I somehow wasn't "on the list" for pick up. I was super stressed trying to make my flight with little time. Gave them a second chance yesterday (silly me) and they arrived 20 minutes late. If I could give this business zero stars, I would. The bottom line is I booked a shuttle to take me to the airport and the shuttle did not arrive as promised. Three of us scrambled to make it to the airport on time. Had I realized the company would not do what they promised, I would have made other arrangements and saved myself and my travelling companions a great deal of stress. 1. I booked a door to door shuttle with Dave two days before my flight. The shuttle was to take three of us to the airport 2. The shuttle was scheduled to arrive between 6-6:15 am on Saturday February 3. 3. At 6:15am Saturday I called Dave because the van was not at my house. 4. Dave said he did not have my correct phone number, and had tried to call me to tell me the driver would be late. He said the driver would be at my house in 5-7 minutes. (I do not accept his excuse about trying to reach me.) 5. At 6:23am the driver called and asked "how come I cannot find your address in my GPS". I asked where he was and he said he was still in Ann Arbor. He said he could be at my house in 15 or 20 minutes. Since he didn't know where I lived, how did he know how long it would take to find me? Who knows how long it would take to actually arrive? In any event, leaving my house at 6:45am would risk our missing our flight. 6. Since he hadn't even left to get me yet, I told him we could not wait for him to arrive because we would miss our flight. 7. We had to quickly decide how to get to the airport so we could make our flight. Needless to say, this was a very stressful experience. I saw the mediocre reviews here and looked at Ann Arbor Shuttle's website. I should have been leery of both the poor reviews and #5 on their page which states: "If at any point you are unsatisfied with the service given please do not hesitate to call the office at 734-699-8500 to file a complaint. If our company has failed to fulfill our service to you, for any reason aside from those mentioned above, we can offer future discounts, partial refunds for portions of the trip not yet used, or in the event the entire trip is prepaid -- a full refund." Obviously, they regularly do not perform as promised. I will not give the another chance. read more

The other reviewers have mostly summarized the problems with Ann Arbor Shuttle, but in addition to the wait times I also want to add the inefficient routes they took when I rode with them. Per Google Maps, it's a 31 minute drive from McNamara terminal to downtown Ann Arbor, which is consistent with what it takes me. There's no way that it should take me nearly 3 hours to get from stepping onto the van to stepping off at my address near North Campus. I understand that there are other passengers who were being dropped off first, and that sometimes there may be traffic jams, but the driver did take a large number of unnecessary detours. It took over an hour for even the first passenger to get dropped off. It's also quite expensive - a cab will cost you 1.5x and take less than half as long. Or if you're strapped for cash, just take the bus, which is actually faster and more reliable in addition to being cheaper. read more

I booked them well over a day in advance for an early morning flight that I had out of DTW. They took down my information and assured me that the driver would be there. The morning of the flight, no one shows. I call the office and there's no one to pick up. So much for 24/7 phone service. I've taken the shuttle many times from DTW to Ann Arbor and always had great experiences. They go out of their way to find drivers for difficult days (Christmas day, for example), and all the drivers have been very polite and efficient. I don't understand the negative reviews here. read more

These people don't deserve to be in business, and it's hard to believe they still are. Where do I begin? Thanks to poor organization, planning, and what sounded like a blithering idiot of a dispatcher, we had to wait 50 minutes at the airport for the shuttle to finally pick us up and leave- if we'd just parked our car in long-term parking we would have paid the same amount (they charge a big chunk of change for what they offer) and been home by the time we departed from the airport. Our driver seemed either stoned or mildly developmentally disabled, was incoherent and confused from start to finish, and spent the end of the trip aimlessly driving around Ann Arbor, completely lost. To top it off, I prepaid for a round trip, they charged my credit card, and then claimed that I still owed them money. What a scam! read more

I made a reservation for our flight schedule at 8:30 am. And the online system replied that a driver will pick us up at 6:15-6:30 am. I was kinda worried about that we might be late. However, I still chose to believe them (which was a huge mistake!!!). And on that day, I got a call from the driver at 6:25 am said "he will arrive in 20 mins". It's ridiculous!!! After he arrived, he did not even feel sorry, and kept chatting with anther passenger. Finally, we arrived at DTW at 7:25 am, and we had to run to the boarding gate at last minute. My mom's foot was injured and cannot really run. We almost missed our flight because their irresponsible attitude. I will NEVER use this company again!!! read more

When they finally picked up after another call on my part that evening, they said "Sure" until I said that I needed a 5:30 am pick up. Then they said they were full. I have always had a great experience with AA Airport Shuttle. It's easy to make a reservation, they are very reliable, and are the cheapest ride to the airport other than public transport. I usually take the bus these days now that there is service from downtown but still use AA Airport Shuttle to shuttle visiting family members to/from the airport and have never been disappointed. read more

Used Airport Shuttle twice last week. My arrival at DTW was near midnight and departure flight was scheduled for mid- morning. Had two different drivers, both of them courteous, attentive and informative. Pick up at the airport was quickly, having to wait just a few minutes after notifying A2AS of my arrival. Pick up at the hotel was some minutes earlier than scheduled, which is always better than waiting for the transportation. I'll be willing to use them again. read more

Al was already at the curb when we got there, was a pleasant driving companion, and brought us safely to our cottage despite road closure challenges.
