The selection of things range from the necessary to the completely ridiculously unnecessary which is hilarious and I loved seeing some of the items they carried. However, with this kind of high quality often comes a high price. While the prices are not outrageous they will be slightly higher than your average pet store and that fortunately for us isn't a consideration as our little girl is treated as most parents treat their children. You can expect about a 10-15% difference in price with a much higher quality than you'd typically experience (especially in the treats case). The owner was a pleasure to chat with and shared all of his stories of past and current dogs which was awesome to hear about. He also told us about the history of the shop and what drove them to open it. These are good people just trying to fill a niche that wasn't covered previously when they opened their doors, and all three of us will gladly walk through those doors again and again whenever we find ourselves in the Portsmouth area :) Thanks again for the great conversation and Ruby says the treats were delicious!

York Bark & Play makes sure all of their clients are up to date on immunizations. Their facility is very neat and quite roomy. They offer many options for my dogs stay, including hours of socialization. My girls had to stay over an extra night and York Bark & Play had no problem accommodating them. When I picked them up, they were freshly shampooed and relaxed. They were tired out from all the socialization! When we pulled into York Bark & Play a couple of weeks later (just to see how they'd react) they got excited. A place they are happy to go must have treated them very well indeed.

They gave us the opportunity to spend time with our pup, they answered all our questions and provided us with a goodie pack full of things he needed as well as toys he loves. Our adoption came with a microchip, 3 free training classes on site and one month of pet insurance which are so very useful. I want to reiterate how kind and diligent everyone was during our visit. We were asked a number of questions to make sure we were a good fit with Iggy. We were also given time to walk with him around the grounds and see his behavior indoors. It was a great experience. I am also really grateful to any organization that is bringing dogs (especially hounds) north to find forever homes, indoors with families. It is a kind and wonderful thing to help these dogs in need. But then to extend the service to offer behavioral training is really going that extra mile to assist families and their new pets with a smooth transition and tools for lifelong success. She was free from Lyme disease after some treatment and we treated her with medication for the tick and flea problems but they and she was all cleared up in 3 months time. She was so smart and loving but now she is dying. Arbor Veterinary gave her the rabies shot in the wrong place and paralyzed her and she may have 2 days left she is in really bad shape. I can't even get her to eat anymore. She locked her jaw. I'm really going to miss her when she passes and I don't know how I'm going to come up with the money for cremation because I was scammed for $5000 and we have no more money.
