I had the best labor and delivery with Ann! I'm so so thankful and incredibly happy with having her as my doula. She went above and beyond the day of my delivery to ensure all my birth preferences were listened to and respected and she constantly made sure I was comfortable and supported. My husband and I felt so confident leading up to my birth especially as a FTM because Ann took so much time educating my husband and I on how labor + delivery works with the body and what signs to look out for once I went into labor and all of our birthing options! I started having stomach cramps around 4am and once I could really time them my husband called Ann! She was so supportive over the phone and walked us through the next steps to be prepared for. I used the tools Ann taught me and remained calm and just relaxed through the contractions at home, a few hours later my husband called Ann to come over to my house but at that time everything was progressing so wonderfully that we decided to meet at the hospital. We arrived there at 9am and once I was brought up to my delivery room Ann came in! She quickly checked in with me and made sure I felt comfortable, safe, and supported. She recommended I use the tub at the hospital to labor so we did, she set up tea lights and made the atmosphere so peaceful! She was so encouraging and supporting through the whole thing! I wanted a natural labor and delivery and she was my best advocate. She truly reminded me of my why and was so encouraging when I felt like I couldn't do it. She was right next to me every step of the way! I am so thankful I listened to her recommendations for the tub because before I even knew it my body was feeling the need to bear down. With Ann's recommendations and guidance I was able to have the most beautiful birth! My daughter was born by 12:30pm! Ann was the best supporter and advocate for me and my husband. Meanwhile she did all of this AND managed to take pictures and videos for us! I know if I have another baby I would 10000% have Ann as my doula again! Ann is an incredible person and wonderful doula! I'm so lucky to have found her and her doula partner, Nicky. I reached out to Ann when I was about 14 weeks pregnant. She was quick to respond to my inquiry, and we scheduled a complementary meet-and-greet. During this meeting, Ann, Nicky and I talked at length about my birth wishes, questions, and fears. Both ladies listened intently with an open mind to all my thoughts. I immediately felt comfortable and connected to them both. We had two additional meetings before the birth of our daughter. These meetings were such a help as I researched and planned for giving birth. They helped me create my birth plan and helped my fiancé and I prepare for birth with their birth preparation information. I was able to reach Ann and Nicky through phone and email with any questions or concerns I had throughout my pregnancy. It was so reassuring having such helpful, knowledgeable people with me on this journey! Ann was present for the birth of our daughter, and I can't imagine her not being there. As soon as she walked into the hospital room, I immediately felt her calming, sweet presence. Ann was so encouraging and loving. It was so comforting having her there with us! My favorite thing Ann did was brush my hair and pull it back for me shortly after our daughter was born. It sounds like such a small thing, but it meant the world to me! Ann also took some wonderful photos for us in the hospital. We will treasure them forever. Since our daughter's birth, Ann and Nicky have both visited and have been in contact to check in on us. It's evident that both ladies truly care about their families and they are so passionate about their work as doulas. I highly recommend this doula team to anyone in search of a doula! My husband and I are happy to recommend Ann Morris Doula Services! Anyone in the Sarasota area would be lucky to hire Ann as their doula. She was super supportive and encouraging throughout our pregnancy and helped keep me calm and focused during labor. She made sure all my needs were met and tried as much as possible under the scary circumstances to make sure I had the birth I had imagined. Even through I couldn't labor out of bed and use positions I'd practiced or hydrotherapy due to my preeclampsia being so bad, she kept making requests to the nurses to see what could be done as alternative options. She set up my mood lighting, essential oils, and put on music I liked, and kept feeding me ice chips, fanning me, and kept me nice and cool with wet cloths and even went to the gift shop to get me chapstick since I'd forgotten mine at home. I labored without any pain medication and did not get an epidural, so she kept me focused during the pushing stage when I thought about giving up and didn't think I could keep pushing. We were in that room 6 hours from the time they broke my water until we met our son, but Ann helped the time go by fast by reminding me of my goal and the purpose of the pain I was experiencing. She knew how important my faith is to me, so she even prayed with me before I went to the delivery room and kept reminding me of verses and God's guidance throughout the labor. She even offered to take beautiful photos of our delivery for no extra charge as part of the services package we had paid for. We love having these memories to look back on, especially since it can all seem like a rushed blur of emotions at the time when you're in labor. She also reached out to us and is setting up a postpartum visit to our house soon to check in with how we are doing. Where do I even begin to tell you how great Ann is? From the moment I met her, genuine kindness and love radiated from her as she met with me weeks before our daughter was born. As a first time mom, having someone help gather my thoughts and how I wanted my birth plan to look was extremely helpful. Ann served as a postpartum doula for our family. I was a first time mom, far away from family and close friends having recently moved to the Sarasota area and completely overwhelmed in the "fourth trimester." Her kind and personable demeanor put me at ease right away. I finally felt like I could take a second and breathe knowing she was there to help us. My wife and I used Ann's services for our first child, born 6 weeks ago on December 8th. When my wife first approached with the idea of using a doula, I was a little skeptical to be honest but wanted to do whatever made my wife as comfortable as possible. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be a massive understatement. Ann showed up at the hospital at 3:00 AM when my wife started labor and stayed with us until 9:00 PM that night when our baby girl arrived. We would highly recommend Ann to anyone. She was highly responsive. Our little girl decided to show up very quickly, and over two weeks early. With little notice, Ann was at the hospital in under 20 minutes. Upon arrival, she immediately began offering support, suggesting new birthing positions and alternative pain management techniques. She thoroughly reviewed our birth preferences prior to arriving and then helped guide the nurses and hospital staff in that direction.
