It seems like multiple hairdressers here have individual Yelp pages, so the salon might just be a venue to host their services (?). Given the current COVID situation, Martha's salon enforces mask wearing and social distancing between clients. I definitely felt more reassured that safety measures were in place. Apparently San Mateo county has permitted hair salons to open for the past month, but I think most folks aren't aware of this... I felt like I stumbled upon a secret. My haircut was $75, but so worth it. Martha's professionalism and attention to detail is impeccable. Though my hair was so overgrown I couldn't recall the last time I cut it (maybe... a full calendar year ago... it's a mystery), she hacked through the mess and pared it down to the most silky, feathery layers within the hour. Every now and then, she'd check in with me about the length and style, ensuring that I was happy with the progress. I genuinely appreciated the time and care she devotes to her clients!
