I ordered from Doordash because they had a deal going on…read more I got the Molokai and the Huli Huli combo. I thought the plate would have one on one side of the plate and one on the other, but the meats seemed combined so I couldn't tell which was which. There is a lot of rice and meat, and there is even more rice under the chicken which tastes great from soaking up the sauce. They include sauce on the side, and you can add on more too! I liked the teriyaki one better than the pineapple.

Online nutrition seems absurdly inaccurate as the luau pork has nearly double the protein of any chicken but that's a separate issue. Big if true though! I'd skip the mac salad. I'm not sure if I had a bad batch but I didn't get a good impression as the mac salad was firm, stale, and challenging to eat. It makes up a whole fourth of the plate but luckily you are able to substitute. More rice, vegetables, or even their pineapple skewer sound fantastic. I've had tons of different mac salads and appreciate all the variations enough where I'm not picky but this was a fail. Large Mixed Plate w/ Huli Huli Chicken and Luau Pig - chicken is juicy and tender with a nice glaze of huli-huli as a simple sugary soy sauce. Beneath the chicken rests a bed of rice marinating in sauce which is super delicious. On the other side is a pile of kalua pork which is a flavorful but slightly dry. Extra sauce is extremely helpful. Unfortunately underneath isn't a marinated pool of rice but you can do it yourself. I'll note that the foundation of rice does lead to a misleading idea that it's packed with meat, but the portions are still very hefty. Mac salad was poor as noted above.

We ordered: Kalbi Plate: exactly like home, marinated and grilled to perfection. Mac salad and rice are perfect compliments to this delicious short ribs. Korean Fried Chicken Plate: I wish the sauce would be mixed into it, but I know they did um like this to prevent it from being soggy. The delicious sauce on the side is great as a dipping sauce. Garlic Shrimp (Special): I ordered a side order of just the shrimp. I wish it was a bit more garlicky and salty, but otherwise, the shrimp are a decent size and not tiny. It is flavorful with a slight crispy texture. Teriyaki Chicken Plate: I was always an ok fan of teri chicken, but my kids loved it. Spam Musubi: exactly how it's supposed to be. Right spam to rice ratio. Ube Butter Mochi: amazing and so moist Staff here are super friendly and fast. Lots of tables for outdoor dining. There are portable potties and other food trucks in the area. You order at the window and they give you a pager to let you know when it's ready. They also sell Li Hing Mui candy, butter mochi, and Hawaii brand juices. There's ample parking, but the lot is packed with pot holes, I guess just like home too lol. Overall, decently priced for a nice portion of food. We will definitely be back to try their other delicious food items whenever we are in this are again.

My macaroni salad was light and enjoyable to eat along with fluffy scoops of rice. In addition, I ordered the butter mochi, a gelatin like dessert with a mild taste. Pretty quiet atmosphere at the food truck park. Look forward to trying other Shoyu Sugar items...

Our family has deep ties to Guam as my mom is from there, and Hawaii as my dad was stationed there for many years in the air force and I was born there! I also grew up in California where access to Hawaiian / Pacific Islander food and culture is everywhere. Needless to say I was blown away! There are very few places to order a mixed plate here in Austin and this tasted the closest I've had to home in a long time. We ordered the Ohana Platter, Garlic Butter Shrimp Plate, Maui Kalbi Ribs, and Spam Musubi. Everything was hot and delicious and so so so flavorful. The finedene was an amazing touch. I wish I had gotten a chance to order a plate of red rice to complete my craving but I will definitely be back to order a catering pan of it! Since we live way North we only stop by this location once in a loong while if we've travelled South for some reason. Yesterday (7/5/26) my daughter was on her way back from San Antonio so that was the perfect reason for a stop. Ordering online was nice and simple but dang the food has fallen off since our last visit awhile ago! We ordered a Large Loco Moco with Eggs Easy Over ($17.99), a 4-Choice Mix Plate with Kalua Pork, BBQ Chicken, Chicken Katsu and Garlic Shrimp ($23.99) and a side order of Macaroni Salad ($3.99). When I tell you we were both so disappointed when she got home and we got ready to eat. First off, the Loco Moco wasn't completely terrible but the gravy was soo salty and as you can see its completely covered in gravy. Unfortunately, the shoyu they add when making it was soo overpowering so the main taste we got was the salty soy sauce. Other than that though the rice, mac salad and hamburger patties were good. As for mixed plate, the Chicken Katsu was literally inedible. The actual chicken meat was super thin so when they deep fried it that made it crazy hard. When I tell you that I was so glad I opted for the mix plate because I first considered getting the Katsu plate. If I would've ordered the Katsu I would've just eaten rice and mac salad. The Kalua Pork was my favorite protein. The BBQ Chicken did have a few hard pieces but it was good and so was the Garlic Shrimp. Lastly, the Macaroni Salad was pretty good and tasted like home but was the small container worth $3.99?? It barely looked like 2 scoops like it was last time. Also, while taking bites of salad, I did happen to bite into a couple inedible pieces of onion skin. This doesn't mean that we'll never return to this location. Maybe it was just an off day but I can say that it was definitely disappointing because the plates are not the cheapest.

It's a modernized American version where you can grill taco meat and other items. We came in recently on Easter to celebrate a birthday. The place wasn't packed, but there were large parties coming in after us. We stuck with the regular AYCE and were fine with the galbi and other meats. The soondubu (spicy tofu) soup was lacking flavor. It had the spicy flavor. All I tasted was the chili pepper. All the meats were good. The only downside this visit was the service. Our server kept forgetting a few of the items we asked for. It wasn't terrible, but it did slow things down for us. To be fair, he might have been juggling a lot of tables. I would still come again to eat the AYCE BBQ as it's convenient.
