After my personal bout with kidney stone, which resulted in serious illness related to a hidden infection, Dr. Batten was the greatest. Then, after about 10 years, my husband developed kidney stones. He was so impressed by the treatment I received from Dr. Batten that he would go to no one else for treatment. Ohio Health Urology at Grant was dirty in lobby and bathroom. Saw same trash in corner that was…read morethere the week before. Bathroom dirty. I kept getting false positives. On one occasion I came in with my walker and had had hand surgery and my left hand completely wrapped. They expected me to place a Urinary collection hat in the toilet knowing my hand bound up and. Balance issues due to stroke. They also felt I could then pour the Urine in a specimen container with the use of only one hand and with balancing issues due to a recent stroke. So it appears some possible false positives. One false positive is a big concern. I also had a concern of falling trying to do all they unrealistically expected I could do with one hand and balance issues. I still haven't had answers to important questions. I found another urolgist near my home off Polaris but they are OHIO Health Urology too. I was then told since I let OHIO Health Urology at Grant go I am barred from all OHIO Health Urology practices. That doesn't even make sense. I let OHIO Health Urology at Grant go. They also had me going out 2/15/2021 to appointment at Ohio Health Urology at Polaris. I traveled there in a huge snow emergency. They are aware I use a walker due to recent stroke and am on blood thinners. I get a call once I arrived in parking lot telling me my appointment cancelled. Since I had a disagreement with OHIO health urology at Grant ( which was due To errors they committed) that I couldn't see any UROLOGISTS AFFILIATED WITH OHIO HEALTH UROLOGY GROUP. This is outrageous. WHY PUNISH A PATIENT FOR WHAT THEIR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS DID. PLUS STILL NEED CRITICAL QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

Busy, like a lot of doctors, but he will answer your questions and tell you what's going on in a straightforward way, laying out the options for treatment, etc., and letting you decide. His staff is also helpful and friendly. You almost never want to go to a doctor unexpectedly, but if you do, this guy makes it a better experience.

The doctor's are great at what they do, but the communication is HORRIBLE. I had a ureteroscopy…read morelast week and after the procedure, nobody talked to me. A doctor didn't come in and tell me about after care, medication, nothing. I literally had to figure it all out myself by going on Reddit. And I don't think this is some freak occurrence either. When I called later that day and told them that nobody talked to me after the surgery, they weren't surprised or apologetic. A receptionist just told me that they'd "send a message" and told me to use a heating pad. At this point, I've given up on talking to a doctor about anything, but unfortunately I need to schedule another appointment to get a stent removed. This has also been an absolute nightmare. I've called at least once a day every day since the surgery to try to get the removal scheduled, but nobody is able to get a hold of a scheduler I guess. Finally after some pushing, I was able to get the direct line for a scheduler and was able to leave a message, but still no luck on scheduling the actual procedure. If you are able to, please go literally anywhere else if you need any kind of follow up appointment. ESPECIALLY a stent removal. The stents are painful and it's pretty much impossible to do anything while having one in, so getting it out in a timely manner is very important. I have never felt so ignored and dismissed by a medical professional in my life and I hate that I didn't read any reviews before going through The Urology Group for my surgery.

Didn't give a flip whether or not my son understood clearly anything. We basically googled all the info. Day of, we arrive to the place and my son is checking in. His wife and I are lingering behind waiting and some window clerk states 'I can help the next person'. Nobody came up and she rudely yelled it again and then I realized she was directing her voice to us. Where were her basic manners??! They didn't exist. They take him back and inform us the dr will be about 30 mins behind. He was schedule for 2pm and he didn't go for his surgery until after 430pm? No apologies. Nothing. Doc comes in and is like 'do you have any questions?' I wasn't in the room but are you serious right now?? I would expect a dr to come in, apologize, explain again what he's about to do and how the rest of the day will play out. Nope. He wasn't given an RX in advance and as a Result of them being extremely late he won't be able to fill it until tomorrow. It's for pain so to me that's unacceptable. They didn't give him anything to hold him over for the night. Then after recovery a very rude Angie RN was in the room trying to get him out, not having a single concern for him but clearly more worried about ending her work day. Avoid this place at all costs.
