Unfortunately it took me 6 root canals, 6 crowns and thousands of dollars before I realized this guy was just extracting money out of me! I have since been told by multiple dentists that root canals are not "preventive maintenance." I am now dealing with the aftermath of having so many crowns and root canals on my teeth leading to costing me even more thousands of dollars to have them replaced and even a couple pulled and tossed in the trash. If I had to name one disadvantage of being Stephanie's patient, it is that she no longer participates with Delta Dental. Still, I will not give up Stephanie just to have an in-network dentist. There was no sense of accountability, no recognition of the office's own miscommunication, and absolutely zero acknowledgment of the impact this caused. Son had wisdom teeth extraction. They did not supply a quote until 2 days prior to procedure, even…read morethough I requested one twice, several weeks in advance. Any time I needed to call them, had to call multiple times due to no one answering phone. On day of procedure before starting, discussed an impacted tooth and that they could expose and move said tooth since they were already in his mouth. They never said it would have an additional charge until after the procedure was done then said they would advise of amount after sending to insurance. 1.5 weeks later I get a bill for nearly $1,300.00 which was more than I paid for the 4 wisdom teeth to be removed. They refused to discount the additional charges, which were not covered by insurance. They only supplied a little gauze for after care. Other surgeon offices provide enough gauze for full aftercare as well as ice packs. I was treated as if this place only wants your money, they do not care about the patient or treating people like human beings. They also switched the location from where I made the appointment, but no one told me this until the day before when they called to go over what to do before coming in.

Sadly, I was already thinking of finding a different place because her staff are unprofessional. This was confirmed last week. I couldn't remember my appointment because I usually depend on a text notification confirmation. I didn't get the text until after I called. I called 24 hours in advance to learn it was the next day but I already knew I would need to reschedule for the following week. The lady on the phone wanted to know "what was going on" that I could not come and would just cancel my appointment. Why do you need to know this and why won't you just reschedule? I learned that I would be billed because I did not cancel 48 hours in advance. That's fine however, It doesn't make sense to send a text notification 24 hours in advance when your cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance. You should maybe send it 48 hours in advance so people will know the policy and not get billed when you have not provided a service. That's TACKY!

Experience being the key word... Dr. Knewtson was tasked with placing 4 implants and making a horseshoe implant supported denture for me after I had some poorly fitted crowns with a well known nationwide dentistry that had failed. He was direct and he was very patient with my needs which to me was massively important !!! No matter what frustration I had (and believe me I had issues) Dr. Knewtson remained patient and professional until my final procedure was completed successfully. Simply he did his job and he did his job well. The end result is what matters the most. Would I recommend him? ...absolutely!!! I have never had any issues since the whole procedure was done. The only sad thing I can actually say is that Dr. Knewtson is no longer in the Springfield MO area. I think however a 4hr drive for his services would be well worth it. If you want direct...if you want patient...If you want experience...if you want professional...if you want the job doing right ... Dr. Knewtson quietly wears each one of these descriptions very well !!! Don't let his reasonable and competitive cost interfere with your decision...seriously that is just a BIG BONUS !!! She referred me to that dentist he was fair never asked for anything extra and was Always upfront with all cost. I needed an alignment after moving to KC was referred to Dentures plus. The staff gave alignment had me sign no warranty or money back right before getting alignment. I asked about regular cleaning I was told they absolutely could not do a cleaning without my dental records from CA I paid to have them sent . It turns out they meant scaling which I had not decided I wanted yet. I feel they wanted money. I may need the scaling but I didn't wish to be pushed into it and the regular cleaning wasn't even an option. Now I need to have a tooth looked at but I'm afraid to go back to them.
