I saw a…read morecouple of other psychiatrists before I found Dr. Madkaiker and when I saw him for my first visit, I knew he was the doctor for me. Like most psychiatrists, appointments are not very long. They are not therapists; they are there to manage your medications. Dr. Madkaiker has been very good to me. When I first started seeing him, I had been on the same medications for many years and they had been working great. He listened to me and actually believed me and that I knew about my body and he kept me on the same meds. Many other new doctors want to start changing meds around. I'm of the mindset of "if it's not broke, don't fix it." When I had cancer and had to have a kidney removed, I had no choice but to finally get off one medication that was helping me the most because it would have interfered with my kidney function and I only have the one left. He took me down off that medication and then introduced a new medication. The new medication he chose doesn't work quite as well as the other one (but we knew it wouldn't), but it does work pretty darn well. He always listens at each visit and he makes suggestions and allows me to choose my treatment with him. It really makes me feel like I have a say in what is happening with my mind and body. Telehealth appointments! Yes! I'm all about those! His front office staff is phenomenal! Tommy works the front office and I absolutely love him! He's usually the one who calls me and I'm always thrilled when he answers the phone! I like the other people in the front office too, but I just feel Tommy has made a point to get to know me and I enjoy talking with him. I love the fact that after Telehealth appointments, they always call me within half an hour or so to make my next appointment. Major points for that because I would totally forget! If you are in need of a psychiatrist, I highly recommend Dr. Madkaiker. I've been seeing shrinks since 1987 and he is one of the best I have ever seen!! Wheelchair and service dog friendly!

Dr Fritschle is treating my son in an inpatient program in California. I'm not sure now this is…read morelegal but tele-health makes all kinds of things possible. My son is diagnosed with schizophrenia, which she is not an expert in. The prior reviews about her schedule staying on time resonate with me. She is very in control of her schedule. Too in control to take care of her job. We discussed a well organized plan to switch his medication. He was on zyorexa and Deepa off. She said that if we were going to do that we had to get him off depacote as this is not compatible with caplyta. After six weeks of titrations down on the depacote she told him he can't have caplyta, which has been highly recommended for him by some other professionals I've engaged. Turns out caplyta is compatible with depacote (so she was just wrong and out my son though unnecessary stress taking him off of it) and he needs to be titrated off or zyorexa to take the caplyta. She told us she talked to the drug rep and he said it didn't work for schizophrenia. Not what he said. I was able to check. Titration off of zyprexa would require extra check ins with my son (see love of her schedule). I set up an appointment with my private consultant so she could learn what she didn't understand. She didn't show up after agreeing to make the call. My son is very disappointed. He wants to have better mental health without the side effects or zyprexa. Anyway, she's may be great in some cases but she's out of he depth, and is so focused on keeping her time under control she has failed to help as needed.

Dr. Fritschle gets 2 stars rather than 1 star because she always runs on time. You will be taken…read moreback at the time of your appointment. That is very, very rare. It can also be a bad thing though b/c if you need an extra 5 minutes with her, you aren't going to get it because she runs on schedule no matter what, even if she has to cut you off. I don't like that. I also gave a second star because the office employees are all extremely nice and friendly. They always made me feel very comfortable. I'd prefer to not get into the medications I take, so I'm not going to. Suffice to say, there's a particular medication I have been taking for over 15 years and it is not a medication which you can just stop taking cold turkey because it can cause a stroke if you do. This is a medication that Dr. Fritschle refused to prescribe to me any longer, and that was fine with me. I knew I would have to find another doctor. She and I even discussed this. No problem. She gave me one last prescription for the medication which would last one month with no refills; however, the quickest I could get an appointment with a new psychiatrist because I was a new patient was 5 weeks out. Dr. Fritschle refused to refill the prescription. She even refused to give me a prescription for it even for just a week until I could get in with the new doctor. I absolutely did not understand this because as a doctor, she knew this was a medication I could not stop taking cold turkey. In the end, I had to go to my internal medicine doctor and he gave me a prescription for the medication until I could get in with my new psychiatrist. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful internal medicine specialist who was able to get me in immediately. It was a hassle, a pain, and caused me a lot of undue stress. When she called me, she was actually quite rude about the whole issue while on the phone with me. That was unnecessary. One would think a psychiatrist would not want to cause their patient any stress. I feel she was not looking out for my best interests as her patient.
