Food in Lockport is expensive. Places like Nicky's gouge you with their prices. Unfortunately State Street Grill closed. Annerino's is the last place left in Lockport with delicious food and good prices. Breaded steaks tender like Ricobenes's in the old days, hotdogs, burgers, all delicious, prices that won't break the bank. Instead many of the Lockport restaurants overcharging. Nice little beef stand with a solid breaded steak sandwich. Sauce is a little sweet for me but other than that no complaints. The bread seemed fresh baked or local as well, didn't look like the typical Turano roll. Great crisp fries...not greasy. Quick friendly service and they will bring your order to your car. I finally came here after many attempts. They close at 7 pm. They're located in a strip mall with a private parking lot. Inside they have more than enough places to sit for small and large groups as well as for one person. I ordered takeout. I got the big beef 12", the big Al 12", Parmesan eggplant fries, mac and cheese bites, Italian pistachio cheesecake, and cannoli Sicilian mini flight. The cost was very reasonable for a lot of food. The owner was very pleasant and personally brought out the food. Overall a 4 out of 5 for me. -big beef 12" 3.5 - I've been to Portillo's, Buona, Pop's, and D'capos. I still have to try Johnnie's. The 12" is cut into two 6" pieces. I like the abundance of meat, more than Portillo's and Buona. However, I had to knock off some points. Beef was kind of tough and dry. Not nearly as moist as Pop's and D'capos. Not something I would order again. -big Al 12" 4 - it's been a long time since I went to Ricobene's in Chicago but I remember it being very good. The portion size here is gigantic for the 12". A lot of meat but kind of too chewy. -Parmesan eggplant fries 5 - The eggplant taste is prominent and I couldn't stop eating. Generous amount of Parmesan. -mac and cheese bites 5 - after taking the first bite I like that you can see real pieces of mac and cheese inside. Crispy exterior. -Italian pistachio cheesecake 5 - light, not heavy in taste. Plentiful amount of pistachios within and on top. -cannoli Sicilian mini flight 5 - made to order. As disappointed as we were when Sizzles closed, we are happy that a great place is there now. The owner was extremely nice. The restaurant is very clean. I was in town for a dog event and yelp checked "restaurants near me" to find this place. Got it to go so I could eat back at my hotel. Quiet/not busy when I stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon. Inside, there are a couple booths/small tables, maybe seats 12-20ish (I didn't really count). The man who waited on me was very friendly. I got the Big Beef 12", with the giardiniera. And fries. Then also ordered a canoli. Could see the unstuffed shells on the cookie sheet in the back and they looked good! I ate the fries in the car ride, so no pics. When I got to my hotel, I realized there were only two wrapped items in my bag, and the first one I pulled out was more like a 6" beef than the 12" I orderd. Oh well! But it was So. Good. Then I went to eat the cannoli and realzied that my 12" big beef was actually cut in half and wrapped separately. So in fact I got my whole larger sandwich but was missing the cannoli. I called the phone number on the receipt, and the gentleman remembered me, apoligized and immediately offered a refund on my credit card. (Which my account showed he did right away.) So excellent service, but I wish I got to try the cannoli too because the sandwich was really delicious so I bet the cannoli would be, too! I ate the other half of my sandwich the next day for lunch and it will still a super yum. Delicious Italian beef sandwich. The beef was sliced thin and juicy. Got it dipped with cheddar on the side. Also got a Chicago dog that was good. All sandwiches come with fries! Also got a side of onion rings which were excellent. Ordered a margherita pizza, which is imported from Italy, and some cannoli to go. Both delicious. The owner gave me a 5% first time customer discount all three times I ended up ordering during the visit. And he wouldn't accept a tip. Awesome, friendly service. The gravy was seasoned well and not greasy. One of the best beef sandwiches I've ever eaten. I ate half of the sandwich because it was just so big! I'll enjoy the other half for dinner. I could pass on the fries. I got a large quantity with my sandwich, but the fries had a bland taste to them. But that's OK since I came for the beef sandwich and not the fries. Service was great! Annerino's is slightly off the beaten path in Lockport, IL. Located about a block and a half off 159th street, it's literally surrounded by virtually every fast food chain on the planet. If it were located in my neighborhood, I would have no need to patronize any of those spots because Annerino's offers significantly better food for pretty much the same cost. My wife and I were traveling through the town and wanted a quick bite to eat. As we normally do, we opened Yelp! and looked for a highly rated, family business to solve our need for a quick lunch. Annerino's did not disappoint. The gentleman at the counter took our order and within moments we had our food. We decided to spilt an Italian Beef sandwich and a cheeseburger. The beef was typical, "Chicago style" beef, and it was very good. We got the giardiniera on the side because this condiment can be very different depending on where you're at, but overall it was a cut above most other beefs in the city. The cheeseburger was hand-packed, perfectly cooked and also ver good. Even the fries were good, and that is something that soooo many places overlook. The inside of the place can probably seat 25 or so people, and it was clean and comfortable. Again, if I lived close by, Annerino's would be one of my neighborhood spots.
