I have been here many times. I almost didn't review this because of, well, I want to keep it to the people that already know. But selfishness aside, here goes. If you like the freshest possible bread that is like they have in Europe, then this is for you. If you love delicious food made to your liking and right in front of you, this is for you. If you want to eat in and love a cozy coffee shop vibe, this is for you. Speaking of coffee, it's great. They do a great lunch as well, wash, rinse, and repeat what I said above. A good breakfast place if you only opt for a sandwich. Very simple and freshly made in front of you while you are in line. I like that they have a system for this, very quick. Grab a sandwich and coffee! They also have a good selections of breads and pastries. We went here for sourdough and end up eating quick breakfast. Win-win! I came to Rustic Knead with two friends after hearing great things about it. I thought it was going to be like Panera, and while you could say the concepts are a bit similar (soups, salads, and sandwiches), the execution is were the two totally differ. Rustic Knead is a very spacious place, with lots of different seating available. You go up to the counter and place your order as they make the sandwich in front of you. Absolutely love that because you get to see all the fresh ingredients being used. I ordered the Club Med; chicken, European feta cheese, red pepper hummus, cucumber, vine tomato, avocado, red onion, baby arugula. To be honest, I am not sure what bread my sandwich was made on but it was good. It had a very crusty exterior and fluffy interior. The sandwich was very big; I definitely had to save half for later. The components of the sandwich were all very flavorful, and the difference in textures among them added a nice contrast between each bite. Rustic Knead is a very solid place to get lunch. I finally got the chance to try this place and I've been back 2xs in 2 weeks. I literally want to try all their sandwiches!! There's so many options to pick from and I love that they use fresh, clean products, and slice the meat right in front of you. Ive had both the caprese sandwich and the Cobb and my only complaint would be that I wished they offered to toast the caprese. I think melted mozzarella would've put the sandwich over the edge for me- and it was already good cold. I have yet to try their soups or salads, maybe on my next visit. I haven't gotten there early enough to see all their baked goods. I usually make it after 12 and by then, it's slim pickings for pastries. I'm not sure if I missed the baked bread- like sour dough and their baguette on my first visit, but I noticed it today. They all look very good and I'll have to pick up a loaf next time. Their sandwiches are somewhat simple but with a good flare, all the ingredients taste very fresh and high quality. Which for me is a must! Their cabbage soup is a straight up hug for your tummy! When I came in to town, she insisted we head over there for breakfast as a little treat for ourselves. Sure, why not. It was nice. It's a cute little location, right on down to the Edison bulbs. Almost feels like living in the Bay Area again, just with the atrocious Midwest winter outside. They seemed to be taking some pandemic precautions, although it's harder to tell with a restaurant style setting when everyone is just laughing and eating mask-less anyway. I thought the menu was rather limited. None of the breakfast sandwiches really appealed to me, so it seemed pointless. I did get a chocolate croissant, but it wasn't just the greatest ever that my mother had sold on me. Was it solid? Sure. Does she (and my father for that matter) recommend this place and adore it? Stopped in here for the first time this week. Had a girls day with my mom, we were hungry while we were shopping. So we stopped here. I live downtown so I am used to nicer sandwich places being more expensive so the price point was amazing! The food was yummy, she had the Chewheato and I had cream of mushroom soup. The service is fine, it's a walk up counter. I did want to take some bread home with me and when I did get home I did get the wrong loaf in the package. I'm a big fan of Rustic Knead, as a pescatarian its hard to find good hearty veggie sandwiches for lunch especially in the suburbs but not here. My sister lives in Lemont and every time I go visit I try to make it in for the caprese sandwich on their delicious bread which is made in-store. Staff are always friendly & quick & they have great tea, bakery, chip options too. Awesome for any GF folks as they have GF sandwiches & even some GF cookies from a local bakery a few stores down. It's a bit on the $$ side but you are paying for the great quality & freshness. They are also very consistent, we have never had a bad sandwich nor experience which I definitely appreciated especially dining with GF people! read more

This is my go to place for sandwiches. I don't go anywhere else they have the finest quality ingredients I have ever seen anywhere. Their bread is baked fresh in store. All of the ingredients are either organic or the freshest possible. The staff are very nice professional and they do their job very well. Prices are great considering the high quality if you receive with your food Although the baked goods do sell out, I have called and they put some on hold for me. These are not store-bought baked goods they are made in house fresh every day. Everything I've had is delicious. They have coffee and tea and other things as well. I hired Rustic Knead to deliver 40 boxed lunches to a local hospital as a donation paid for by a group I am a member of. The pricing was reasonable for the food quality. We were able to provide a variety of sandwiches for the staff to choose from. From pictures it looks like the cookie that was supposed to be in the lunches was replaced by bags of Tate's Cookies. That normally wouldn't be a problem but the hospital did request individually packed meals due to COVID so I hope the cookies were still able to be enjoyed by everyone. I did find communicating with the staff at Rustic Knead difficult. There is a lot of background noise on their end which made talking with their staff difficult. I'm not sure if that played a part in the delivery being about 20 minutes late. Since I wasn't going to be on-site I provided very detailed directions to help the delivery go smoothly but I'm not sure what happened. If I'm in the area I'd like to stop in for lunch. read more
