As a table of 4, we started by sharing the Charcuterie platter Plein Sud. Unfortunately, we dug in too fast for me to take a picture, but it was very beautiful. Came with several varieties of cured meats, cheeses, grapes, fig jam, and nuts. The only complaint is that the pieces of cheese were so incredibly small, like the size of a piece of cheese you'd cut at home to eat yourself. But these tiny pieces were meant for sharing. We asked the waitress for a wine recommendation, but she didn't seem well versed in wine and kept telling us all the wine was good. We were looking for a more specific recommendation then that. Fortunately her colleague was more helpful and had a better handle on the wine menu. For entrees, we each had our own dish. I had the gnocchi with veal (reading from my previous review, it was good but I didn't see these gnocchis as potato clouds like before). The other guests had the steak tartare with fries (fries were so good!), seafood ravioli (looked generous and creamy), and the porc Jarrett. All the entrees were nicely plated and delicious! We ended the evening with the Brioche pain perdu with caramel salé. I thought this was going to be just okay, but it was super good and decadent! But he gives his team the opportunity to shine as well. The open kitchen is an orchestra of professionals doing what they do very well. The first course was a fun ´antipasto ´ with a tartine of delicious things, some pate, pickled oyster mushroom, pickled asparagus, shaved pickled artichoke heart, pear with pickled mustard seeds, accompanied by sliced cotto ham (cured in house) and fresh burrata. The burrata was made in house a couple of hours ago and never saw a refrigerator. I should add that every ingredient except the caviar and truffle are sourced from Quebec (and chef is proud of that) and made in house. And the bread omg!!! Sour, seedy, toasty and divine with Normandy butter. The next course in this 6 course tasting was a delicious angolotti pasta with chanterelles and hazelnuts --while all the pairings were great, this one was paired with a Sicilian white that sat on the skins and turned a bit orange. Perfect acidity. The belly tuna with a delicious saffron butter sauce was the only course that fell a bit flat. Maybe I'm just not a fan of warmly cooked tuna belly. The Entrecôte was two slices of pink beef with a savory bordelaise sauce which worked very well with the Bordeaux wine. The first dessert called Pêche presented the humble peach in various forms from fresh to foamy to crunchy (my fav). The last bite was a take on tiramisu with a soaked sponge cake that incorporated marscarpone with kombucha --don't wrinkle your nose--it works. Give this reasonably priced (by NYC standards) tasting menu a try and revisit with that Top Chef that exuded nothing but positive energy and a desire to feed you.

It is an all you can eat buffet with coffee and tea service. In an addition I had a custom made white egg omelette. The buffet had all of the trational breakfast suspects like eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc. The Canadian specific items included crepes (the standout for me) and French pastries. The language is French primarily in Montreal. I had to brush some French out of the cobwebs of my brain. The restaurant was sparsely populated when we arrived at 7:30 am by 7:45 am folks were coming in droves. We did not feel in pressure to rush out the restaurant. Love a low-key, laid back environment... Food and beverages were excellent!

Our table started off with some juices and coffee - I decided on the grapefruit juice, but I really wish I had tried the orange juice because it was definitely freshly squeeze and I was told that it was so sweet and delicious! The grapefruit juice was good too, but I forgotten how bitter grapefruit can be :,) for my entrée I got the eggs Benedict with a side of potatoes, and this was cooked to perfection. The eggs Benedict still had that runny yolk with a savory hollandaise sauce while the potatoes were one of best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The flavor was Herby and potato was firm enough to still have that crispy exterior but soft enough that I could break the potato in half with my fork. Another thing I have to brave about this restaurant was the service. Our waiter was so kind and funny and he was always coming back to attend to us and make sure that we had everything we needed. Really love this place and hopefully I can come back again for breakfast in Montreal!
