I had a disappointing experience at C&J Beauty Supply that I feel obligated to share. While the…read morestaff was kind and extremely helpful in assisting me with finding clip-ins that matched my natural hair texture, the owner's behavior was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I selected two packs of clip-ins priced at $80 each and, as a licensed cosmetologist, I kindly asked if he could extend the professional discount. Instead of handling the request with courtesy, he abruptly demanded to see my license. I didn't have the physical copy on me, but I showed him my driver's license and pulled up my valid license directly from the official New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology website. Still annoyed, he barked again, insisting on seeing my shop license instead. At that point, I left the merchandise on the counter and walked out. It was an $18 discount--on what I'm sure was a heavily marked-up item--and rather than valuing a repeat customer and licensed professional, he chose to be dismissive and difficult. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend C&J Beauty Supply to other professionals who expect basic respect and appreciation for their business. The staff deserves better leadership, and so do the customers.

Not only do you need top of the line kicks but you can only really get 'x' amount of miles on them before they're considered 'done' (even if they don't look bad/old/used to the untrained eye). Which is why/how we found Fleet Feet. And before we could even scope out the entire (small) shop we had a clerk helping us out and were immediately smitten (with the professionalism, options/choices, the 'student discount' - every little bit helps, let's be honest - you name it). For a guy that grew up on nothing but Converse low-tops and adidas Sambas (neither was over $50 a pair, and lasted for years!) - I'm relying on my kids' expertise and commitment to all things running that Fleet Feet have earned their PR (look at me trying to pretend to understand what my kids are always yapping about after a race) of 5-stars.

I've only been to two events with them (a trail and pancake run) and I already feel like I am part of the Fleet Feet fam. And I know this feeling is shared by so many people as I can tell how well-loved they are by those in their community.
