I'm not sure I've ever taken the time to write a negative review on Yelp but after thinking about this for a week after my visit to the shop, I opted to do so as I really don't want anyone else to have this kind of experience. I drove over 45 mins to this place. The greeting was not warm. I was shown to a dressing room by a woman who announced to me with barely a hello how my bra was the wrong size. That was no surprise - that's why I went to this place. Bra fittings can be nerve-wracking when you're a plus size person. I've always been treated so kindly at places until this one. The sales person barely looked at me - and she was working wth a broken finger which obviously prohibited her from doing the job right. She brought me a bunch of bras that I could not get on because they were too small - as she told me they were the right size. Lady, if I can't get them on, try again. I should have just stopped there and left but I didn't. The sales person gave me this one type of bra that's more of sports bra in style and while I could get it on, it didn't lift me up in the slightest. I kept trying to convince myself that this woman was the expert. I ended up buying two of them - desperate to have a nice bra for a work gala. Neither honestly helped me in terms of lifting me up and providing support - so I wore an old bra after all that. I'm not returning the bras, because THERE IS NO way am I driving 45 mins each way to deal with that again. This is my fifth bra fittings as I've gone up and down in size and this was just not a good experience. You should feel great after a bra fitting - you learn the right size, your body is shaped in a positive and supportive way, and you feel that someone took good care of you. This place made me feel awful. If you're plus-size GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for kind treatment. I feel like this woman who "helped me" should apologize. The service was great and I walked out a satisfied customer. The problem came upon return of the bra. I only had it on for a few minutes in the store. When I actually wore it, it started to cut me after 4 hours. I went to return it after I got in the store, realized I missed the deadline for return. HERE'S WHY I GAVE THEM 1 STAR: The salesperson in the store (she's always there when I've been there) tried to shame me into thinking I must have been mistaken!! She literally said it wasn't her fault, it was MINE and I didn't know how to wear the bra properly. WTF!!! Lady, I know my body & that underwire bra cut into my skin after 4 hours. Went here for the very first time on Saturday (4/2/2016). Sydney, who is also the Assistant Manager was there, and she was extremely helpful. I went in with an idea of a starting size I would need, as I fluctuate often. I used the ABraThatFits! subReddit on Reddit to find my starting size (it's really an amazing community and they're very well researched and provide so many resources, I highly recommend checking it out. You don't need an account to look and check out their guides). I went from a 32DDD to a 32G, according to my measurements and their calculator. I found my size in the style I liked, and tried it on. Unfortunately, the cup seemed a little big, so while I was in the dressing room, Sydney came by and asked how I was doing, so I let her know that it seemed a bit off. She came in the room and checked the band and the straps, and then had me turn around to see the front so she could see what the problem was. She said immediately that we should try a smaller cup, but the band was perfect. So, she went out and got me the correct size. It fit perfect. Then, she asked if I wanted to see another type of bra, a multi-way, and if I wanted to try it on. I said yes, so she brought me the other bra. That one fit lovely as well. Their selection is pretty big for ladies that are bigger than what Victoria's Secret offers (as well as every other lady looking for a great bra). They have sexy and naughty lingerie, regular bras and panties, multi-ways, swimwear, shapewear, they had flip flops when I was there to get ready for Spring and Summer, cover-ups... etc. There's probably more, but I didn't really get to walk around. You really just have to go there and see. I ended up buying both bras Sydney helped me with, and when ringing me up, she even wrote down my correct sizes for me in both UK and US sizing, as well as the "sister" sizes in case the band of a bra was too snug. My correct size is a 32FF(UK)/32H(US) or 34F(UK)/34G(US). I was very pleased with my first visit and I can't wait to go back. Yes, the prices might shock some ladies, but if you think about it, wouldn't you rather spend the extra $10 on a quality bra that's actually going to fit you correctly, than spend hundreds replacing a bra every few months? Also, Victoria's Secret keeps raising the prices of their bras. At Johari, I found the average was about $60 - $70 a bra. Meanwhile at Victoria's Secret, you're looking at about $53 - $55 a bra. And, the bras at Victoria's Secret stretch out fast, nor do their fitters know how to fit correctly. I spent $99 for both bras, which was still cheaper than me buying 2 bras at Victoria's Secret. But, I'm sure if you tell them your price range, they'll be able to find something for you, or recommend something. A great bra will lift, support, improve your posture, make you feel amazing, and make you forget you're even wearing one. Johari is the place to go. The only bad thing is parking. Either you need to find a metered spot, or there's a lot on N Fullerton that charges $2/hr. When I got there, they changed it from $2/hr to $5 flat. No time limit. I got there at about 2PM on a Saturday if that helps. Also, for the metered spots, make sure you read the signs. Some have 1hr limits, some have 2hr limits. Some, you can only park at certain times. It's annoying. For those complaining about the refund/exchange policy, I see no issue with it. They want to keep their products clean and hygienic,. And, who would really want to buy something that someone else already wore? Especially swimwear. You never know if someone really kept their undergarments on when they tried it on, and you don't know what they do with the item once they get home. Plus, this is a small business. They can't afford to take in merchandise like that, especially if it's unsellable. read more

Don't waste your time. After driving 50 minutes both ways to their store I was highly disappointed. The store is extremely small and doesn't carry enough merchandise or sizes. I almost tripped walking up the crooked stairs. The stairs definitely needs to be repaired. I know I was wearing the wrong size since I had gained some weight from medication. The women kept harping on this fact. I KNOW I WAS WEARING THE WRONG SIZE!! I purposely went to this store to get properly sized. So she tells me to remove my bra and she eye balls me. No measuring tape just eyeballs. She got the cup size right (the second bra she brought me) but the waist size wrong. She only had one (1) bra in that size anyway. I'm in pain wearing this bra. They have no strapless or variety of styles or colors. She had to order me another one. So I had to go back when it arrived. Another 50 minutes (almost 2 hour ride back and forth.) I went for a fitting and was very disappointed. Looking back I should just not have paid. I felt I was being rushed and bothering the salesperson, J. In addition they only had 2 bras in the size I was to try on. So I left there not even sure the size was correct because they did not fit properly. Someone was in the fitting room next to me and she said to me "They are very pushy aren't they". I called a few days later and requested the 40 dollars back and was told by the salesperson that she could not do that and the ower would not be in as she was sick. The owner did call back and said that they do not rush people or make them feel uncomfortable and I said to her that she was not there so how could she know for sure that that did not happen. She also said they only have a couple of each size in the store and I could go back and she would help me. I LOVE Johari. What can I say, I'm a skinny girl who also happens to be quite large in the wrong (or right, depending on your perspective) area. I've been to many, many lingerie boutiques in NJ and have never been as happy as I have been here. The girls who work there are always helpful, educate you about how everything is supposed to fit, and give amazing bra fittings. They also have a ton of bathing suits (!!!) which is a plus because girls who are larger on top can have an extremely hard time finding a bathing suit at any department or mall store. If you're on their email list they also send out coupons regularly and always have some items on sale. Overall a very cute shop in Montclair where someone who usually has a hard time finding a well-fitting bra or bathing suit can come and feel pretty again :) read more

When I went there on Saturday to look for something to wear with my backless top , it was recommended to me by the saleswoman to use Booby tape which I already had owned and tried but wasn't having great success especially with this top since it had zero support. She basically walked me through exactly how to execute and achieve the result I needed- and I am definitely a larger chested woman! It worked amazing with me getting compliments all night on how great the top looked plus I was able to dance the night away! It was way more comfortable than any strapless bra I had wore! I was assisted by Esther and she could tell I had the wrong cup size on just by glancing at my shirt. She properly fitted me in the most comfy, flattering bra. I thought I was a DD, I'm a DDD. I originally stopped in to find a bathing suit top (target cannot support these DDD's) Esther picked out multiple tops and styles (their selection is amazing!) and helped adjust and fit me. I ended up finding an adorable top to match the bottoms I had. It gave me support and was soooo flattering. I'm so happy! All in all, it came to $116 for the bra & bikini top. Money well spent. I came to Johari with my mother in order to get some quality bra's for college. I thought Johari would be different experience from a major retailer like Victoria's Secret. Before I go to a place, I like to do my research; I wanted to try Freya's bras.. I called the store and asked if they carried Freya and the woman said yes, but not the specific one you're looking for. I decided to pop in the store anyway since I was told they do carry the Freya Line. Okay here's where I get really upset! ....Just wait for it! So I walk in the store asking to see their Freya Line and the sales associate asks for my size. I said I believe 34 C but I'm not really sure; I've never been properly measured and I asked if she can measure me and she said ok. I patiently wait for her for an awkward 7 minutes as she finishes her little desk organizing and she just walks over and says 34 C okay.....P.S she never measured me at this point; I dont think even scientists no matter how much of an expert measures solely with their eyes. This sales associate wasn't very polite to start with. She asks me how I heard of Freya and I tell her how I wanted a new brand and I saw a bra I liked: Deco Vibe. I know you don't have it here but I wanted to see the line. I show her a picture of the bra set. The first thing she says: "Hunny you will never get that cleavage; you don't have the material for it. The cup's holes are too deep." Okay at this point I am still taking the fire because yes...as a 34 C I don't have the biggest boobs in the world. BUT WAIT? I never even pointed out that I wanted the cleavage? I just wanted the bra set to be honest cause I thought It was cute never specifically asked for the push up look....Now the lady proceeds to find bras for me with okay styles and I begin to try them on. Didn't really feel like I liked them much; not cause of the "cleavage or push-up issue as she routinely pointed out with remarks like : "hunny you will never get that look because you need the material" and giving me various analogies regarding my "itty-bitty" boob ". I just didn't like the bra..But after all her comments I had enough; I had bras that made my boobs look fantastic so who is this lady to shame me and my small boobs. I try to subtlety tell her that but she kept making remarks how I will never have a cleavage because of "no material" that can fill in the bra. It might just be this sales associate that made my experience at Johari horrendous and I feel bad for leaving a bad review, but I was truly upset about the sales associate consistently telling me I had small boobs and will never get a cleavage in a vulgar manner when I never even asked for a push-up or a cleavage producing effect for a bra in the first place. I just wanted an authentic feeling bra. DONT THINK IM FINISHED YET........ ......I am going to stay at Atlantis so I asked the sales associate for a swim dress for my mom. Instead, she gives my mom a one piece bikini. My mom isn't the skinniest woman on the planet; but she's not crazy big. She likes swim dresses for coverage. Wear what you feel best in right? I tell her to try it anyway; give it a try! Be open to new things. Well, it ended up not fitting right and I tell the lady "sorry, she doesn't like it but thank you." The lady asks why and my mom tells her its because it doesn't really cover her belly or flatter it; it was a tight one piece bikini......and the lady rolls her eyes. First off, we asked for a swim DRESS; not a one piece and still tried it on for the sake of trying it on; who knows maybe it'll look good. I expected to have a different experience at Johari rather than your typical Victoria Secret store but I didn't.
