Called ahead to make sure I could come in for a mani and pedi and was told to come in right away but still had to wait 1 hour. When they finally began the lady didn't even scrub my feet for the pedi and just put soap and was laughing the entire time and didn't even finish my gel nails for my toes and went and started someone else while my feet sat in cold water for 30min finally someone finished my nails and my acrylics were so badly put that they felt like they could fly off they were way too expensive $50 for pedi with white gel toes and $80 for a simple design with acrylics which only lasted ONE WEEK read more

They tried to upsell me on both a manicure and pedicure. She said "are you sure you don't want a gel manicure? The regular manicure just gets smudged right away." I brought my 5yr old daughter to get her nails done for her birthday, she got a pretty glittery pink :) I'm not sure who did her nails but the 2 ladies just thought my lil girl was so cute and kept telling her how cute she was, so I thought that was very friendly. 1 of the women even put my daughter's coat on for her. I will be going here for myself tomorrow and I will post pics as I'm getting a pedicure, and trying the gel french for the first time.... Well, i took my 5 yr old and 6 week old with me. Sunday open 1-8pm There were a lot of people coming in and out a lot for massages and waxing. A lot of regulars i noticed since they knew the techs names- Kevin (the owner) and Annie, herself. Annie did my french uv gel in pink $65 1st time, I love my nails. $35 fillin after 3weeks. Mind you, my baby was crying most of the time and Annie had everyone rocking him in the stroller lol . He just wanted to be held. Luckily, there were no strong fumes of smell in there. I got a regular pedicure $15 nice massage, especially after a year not having one! :) so smooth! They initially tried to upsell me on some $55 pedicure but I insisted I just wanted a basic pedicure & callus removal. This place is very very over priced I got a a soak off and drip powder and paid $65. I called and asked how much got a refill because it's been 2 weeks the lady said $65 because they do it different and it's a 3 week warranty. My problem is that I'm loyal to a fault. I have gone to this salon for years, starting after I had received a gift certificate to get a massage. Even after having various issues, including having my toes accidentally sliced and bleeding, on multiple occasions, I kept going back. The staff was nice, what can I say? Accidents happen, right? They're busy, right? Maybe I've changed, maybe my standards have gone up, who knows- but at my last visit, something happened. I found myself in a mom time crunch to get my child from soccer practice yet sitting with my feet in the pedi water for nearly 45 min, feet like raisins, waiting for a beautician to return to start my pedicure. Apparently, she was giving a massage to another customer, and there was no telling when she'd return to me. Wth? And then I had an epiphany. "A pedicure should be soothing and relaxing! It should not be causing me stress, anxiety and feelings of abandonment." So, I did a meditation quickly, took a deep breath, dried off my feet, and I left. I'll never go back to this salon again. I'll certainly miss the friendly faces, but it's just not enough anymore. read more

WORST EVER- Not even worth 1 star. $170 for me and my 10 year old daughter and the lady was on the phone most of the time. My daughters pedi is all chipped after 3 days and my gel mani is chipped uneven and discolored. Then the man screamed at me because he didn't give me the correct change. He watched the camera then gave me back the correct change and really embarrassed me on new years eve. He didn't even apologize after realizing he was wrong. Store opens at 10:30 and I was outside waiting 20mins for them to arrive. I previously spoke to Annie on the phone and was told 65 total. I get in and I'm told $120, $50 for my gel pedi and $70 to do my nails based of a picture I showed her with a nude/pink, short tips, coffin shape, with what looked like foil. She didn't have the colors I wanted. Felt it was a little pricey for something I didn't want. She showed me some other designs and drop to 60 but I couldn't commit to spending that much when we said 65 on the phone. So I decided not to do my nails and do a regular pedicure. They ended up charging me 30 because they had to remove my gel nail polish for an additional 10. I may just be spoiled with brooklyn prices, but I at least get a message spending 30 for a pedicure... This place is so disgusting, I was initially attracted to how run down it looked because I assumed it would be cheap. I wanted acrylic nails and they did not have a large selection of color options. The lady that did my nails genuinely did a horrible job. The shaping is lumpy, she did no maintenance of my cuticles, sanded my natural nails extremely thin, filed my finger so intensely that it started pouring out blood and is still scabbed and painful days later. When she saw me crying from the pain she offered $5 off. It got to a point where I had to sternly tell her to stop touching that finger because she kept trying to stop the bleeding and file it even more. I told her multiple times what I wanted and she flat out refused and these were simple requests -- I wanted dark pink base because I have dark skin and she lied and said it would come out dark but it's a super light pink She kept aggressively shaking my hands every few minutes telling me to relax. I wanted to get up and leave so I could go to a better nail tech but she said the price would only be $10 cheaper even though she hadn't started painting yet. I cannot stress that this was the worst nail set I've gotten in my life and it wasn't cheap either! I've never left a nail salon crying which is why I'm writing this review. They also passed their phone to me to do customer service to someone calling because the employee's accent was too thick for them to understand. Just soooooo ghetto. I'll never go back and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

My recent start in my was startling considering that when I was browsing for a lunchtime nail session, a REGULAR pedicure would have come out to upwards of $35. NOT HERE, not in Jersey! $35 gets you an amazing spa pedicure with all the bells and whistles. The guys and girls here do really good jobs. I love this place. Annie, the owner, is very friendly and accomodating, never pushy! The prices are great for the service you're getting. A simple manicure is $7 and they actually take their time with it. Their silk wraps, acrylic sets, and UV gel sets are always neat and done with care, and less expensive than all the places I've been to that aren't even half as good. I have never walked away from this place disappointed or feeling ripped off. The location sucks, though, so I've taken off a star. It's close to my house so I shouldn't be complaining but it can turn some people off. read more

These people are money hungry. Some of their pricing are ridiculous and nonsensical. I wanted a regular mani - standard nail polish with my 2 ring fingers in different colors. They says that's $3 extra because it's a design and it takes more time. My ring finger painted a solid color that's different than the rest of my solid-colored fingers is a design??? And what extra time does it take? Must be a lot of time to open the second bottle? That was the silliest thing I've ever heard! Furthermore, they wouldn't buff the soles of my feet with the scraper because they said that comes with the spa pedicure package and not the regular pedicure package. I've never had a salon refuse to use proper tools in a pedicure in order to get more money. After being there for 2 hours I needed to leave. They told me if I'm in a rush they can use a quick dry top coat for $1 more!!! What?!? You're charging me extra for a top coat? What's more, I've seen the same brand of quick dry top coat in my local beauty supply store for $1. The entire bottle for $1 and they're charging $1 per use! I mean, highway robbery much? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for my mani pedi. I'm not being cheap. I just don't like being nickeled and dimed over the silliest things. It makes it seems like you're not here to do good service but to strip me of every last dollar I have. Like just charge a standard price and do good work. If the mani pedi is $30 or $40 or $50, then fine I'll pay. But don't tack on an extra $1 here or $3 there for standard mani pedi services. Stop trying to penny pinch people. Especially when there's a nail salon on every other street corner. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Annie's nail and spa. I also don't like to put up embarrassing pictures of myself but this was not okay what was done. Even more so because my sister was trying to have a nice a day and do something nice for me as well. If you ever want to get your nails and feet done, do not go to "Annie's Nail Spa" on 440 across from Hudson Mall in jersey City. When they realized we did not want their over priced services and just wanted a basic $20 pedicure, they were nasty with us, I had to cut my own toe nails, and she brushed the callas stone over my foot twice and half assed my nail polish. They waited til we were situated to swindle is into a pricier service. When a complaint was made, they complained about us, naturally in another language in front of our faces while doing our feet, and made us uncomfortable the whole time. Another young lady that worked there tried to be kinder to correct the effects of the other's attitude but damage was done. This seems to be a continuing narrative, especially for Black women and it truly isn't right, especially when you know most of your business come from us. No matter who you are, when you pay for services offered, that's what you should receive without fuss or shaming the customer into spending more money they either don't have or into getting services they don't want. read more

WORST NAIL SALON EVER. These people have to be the rudest bunch ever. The first time I went in (before sandy) my boyfriend and I both got Spa Pedicures and I got a gel manicure the total came out to be $108 before tips. That is an insane amount of money for the minimal work that they did. The pedicures were okay, nothing really "spa-ish" about them tho. They wrap plastic wrap around your feet and give you a 10 minute massage where they talk to each other the entire time (annoying). My gel manicure was absolutely horrible and also $38 dollar which is more then the new nail salon in Newport Mall. Any who the gel manicure chipped in 2 days. I was slightly turned off by the place but when the owner (Annie) asked me if I wanted a membership card for 2$ more I got it because supposably the points never went away... every dollar = one point so im at 108 points now.... I come in again after hurricane Sandy and she explains to be that all the points have been washed away. I wrote the number of points I had in a crappy unorganized notebook and called it a day. That time I went in I just got a regular pedicure which I shouldn't have had to pay for. I came in an hour before closing, more than enough time to get a pedicure done. They had me soaking the in water for 45 minutes waiting to be treated then when the lady got to me she gave me a 4 minute pedicure INCLUDING THE PAINTING !! The ladies next to me drying their nails looked astonished. I was satisfied with the way she painted them but I wanted my feet to be scrubbed the proper way, like a pedicure should be. I explained to the manager that I would come in the next day just for a scrub not be re painted and she gave me an attitude but agreed. MIND YOU this leaves me at 123 points on my "membership card" that supposably never "expires" THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME I WILL EVER ENTER THIS NAIL SALON WAS LAST WEEK .... I walked in to get a pedicure, and my acrylic set taken off and a gel manicure, I figured I would give the gel manicure another try I thought maybe it was the lady that did it incorrectly last time. Pedicure - It went okay, nothing special / semi rushed. Gel Manicure- COMPLETELY DISGUSTED !! A gel manicure is suppose to be a manicure as well. I was expecting her to cut my cuticles, push them back, ect...... NO! instead after rushing me to choose a color that I later didn't even want, she started on rough nails (mind you I just took off my acrylics). I was so fed up with the place I didn't even say anything... then I get to the register about to pay my 53 dollar total and add it to my 123 points which would give me 176.. and enough to get a free eyebrow wax , she swiped my card and 0, I REPEAT 0 points popped up. I got frustrated and asked the manager how the hell this could happen. She had the never to tell me that "All points before Hurricane Sandy, are no longer relevant." I walked over to the sign with the membership information and began shouting that the sign said "NEVER EXPIRES" and instead of giving me the free eyebrow wax she took down my 53 points into the computer.... I told her to cancel the membership forget the points because I was never coming back ! EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! NEVER GOING BACK !!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
