Great breakfast I love the banana pancakes ! The host could be nicer tho but overall great food and atmosphere.

The food was absolutely amazing and totally plan to come back here to eat. It's about the same price as Denny's but the quality is so much higher. The ambiance is very lovely, it feels like your home at your moms or grandmas house eating breakfast while the radio plays in the background. Very homey and comfortable. Our service was also top notch Our server Chelsea was a phenomenal server who was very kind and made for great conversations while we ate and helped us navigate the menu if we had any questions. Had a terrible experience here today. All of our orders were wrong in some way, my food was cold, items were missing, I'm sober and don't drink and today I was accidentally served alcohol. All because of our server. Apparently they were new, and I understand that everyone has to learn, but the restaurant was busy, they didn't ask anyone to help them with our table, we sat for 30 min without drinks and 1 1/2 hour without food. The food is normally great but we were so upset by the experience we left most of it and went to eat somewhere else. read more

I went here alone this morning, ordered breakfast and coffee. I had finished breakfast, paid my bill with a 30% tip, since I was a party of one (and service was awesome) and was sipping my coffee, obviously nearing the end of my breakfast. The manager came over and asked if I would leave so they could combine my table with another for a large party. What the heck?? I thought that was incredibly rude. I had not overstayed, had not even stayed as long as a party of two talking would have stayed. But the part that got me was her disregard for me as a customer. And, not that it matters, but no respect for what burden I might be carrying or what I was thinking as I sat there away in thought. read more

When we arrived, the host let us know that the wait would be 25-30 minutes. We did not get seated until an hour after checking in with the host. We saw party after party arrive and get seated almost immediately upon arriving. When we finally got seated, our waiter was rushing through our drink orders and left before 2 people could order their drinks. Those folks ended up placing their drink order with their food order, however the drinks didn't come in until they were half way done with their meals. Additionally, when they brought the two lattes, they just placed them on the table, and when we asked which latte was which, he looked equally as confused and said he wasn't sure. We had also asked for a side of potatoes with one of the meals, but we didn't receive them until we were done with our meal. Overall, the food was nothing special and definitely not worth the poor service we received. They automatically charged an 18% tip, which I fear had a lot to do with the poor service we received. read more

Discovered this morning near the Austin Community College site at the old Highland Mall (you need to have lived here 10 years or more to know that). Excellent location..... a little tricky to find, but well worth it. Great broad menu with surely something for everyone. Coffee selections are exceptional. Did the Biscuit and Gravy. Super fluffy large biscuit smothered in mildly spicy gravy. Eggs scrambled just right and their homemade sausage was better than right. Chelsea, who waited on us - was right on in her recommendations. Great smile, wonderful personality and quick with the coffee refills. Today was my first time visiting this establishment & it was awesome! The ambiance is really relaxing and pretty, mixing modern & artsy together in a classy way. The service was great, the waitresses were all really kind, especially our waitress, Chelsea! She was so friendly and really added to the experience honestly. She was attentive, quick, and charismatic. The food was equally as good; well portioned & priced. I'm from Louisiana so seeing crawfish & beignets on the menu was an awesome surprise to me! What a great find in our neighborhood! We walked in at 1:45 PM and were greeted warmly, even though they close at 2 PM. The food was excellent and our server, Chelsea, was the best... Chelsea was very nice and attentive! Food was average.. it didn't feel like they had the air on, therefore it was hot and stuffy.

ABE experience today was fabulous. Consistently good quality food, clean, speedy service, great atmosphere, correct music choice AND volume level, which seems to be a HUGE problem for Corporate Controlled music piped through, which is too loud to enable people to have a normal conversation . The message in those scenarios is "turn the table and don't get comfortable." ABE is relaxed and easy even when it is busy. ABE was perfect so thank you. Today, this was topped off by our FABULOUS waitress, Chelsea. (I am reliably informed she is "The First Chelsea" as she has been there the longest :-) ) Chelsea was super efficient, kind, attentive, listened to each of our special orders, returned with the correct food, and made enough personal eye and verbal contact with us to form a relationship. All this with understated positive energy, and a wonderful smile! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be sure to ask for Chelsea when we return. Honestly disappointed in this establishment. I was so excited to try the food and drinks until I was discriminated against with my partner. We arrived and chose to sit outside which is not the issue. We were constantly overlooked and not greeted. Not given water or anything. Another couple came on of a different race obviously and was immediately greeted and served. The discrimination was blunt and very disrespectful. It wouldn't be a thing if we weren't starred at with grins from the servers as we decided to leave. The looks on their face made it feel intentional. Not sure if this is a common thing for other people of color in Austin but it sucks and I know for sure the people doing these things wouldn't want to be treated this way. read more

Hi everyone, Let me tell me about my visit on 5/20th. I found out about this restaurant one day when I was driving around and noticed it was there and looked it up. They have another location DT and in the pictures everything looked good. So, I decided to get down but it was still under construction. The nice lady told me their grand opening date was on the 15th. I've been anxiously waiting! I finally came on the 20th to treat my mother to a birthday brunch. The host was really nice. The waiter started off good. Time was 11:50 am . We placed our order around 12:05 and didn't get our food until 1:10 pm. Apparently, they give you some pastries while you wait but never got until the host came by to check on us. I would've appreciated it if our waiter came to check on us because I wanted to tell him that I had a game to get to at 1:30. Food came out and my father said his was cold. We didn't bother say anything because we were starving! The cinnamon French toast was not what I expected it to be. To me it was just a regular cinnamon roll with whip cream.
