I was in the mood for classic diner-style breakfast, and after seeing so many great reviews, we decided to give Phoebe's Diner a try. From the moment we walked in, the hostess gave us a warm welcome, and we were seated right away. It took our server a little while to get to our table, but she arrived with waters in hand, which was appreciated. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were good, though I've definitely had better back home in Houston. For my entrée, I ordered the Badass Bacon Plate, and it absolutely hit the spot. Everything on the plate was delicious, from the thick-cut slab of bacon to the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I especially appreciated that the eggs were seasoned before cooking, something I don't often see at restaurants, and it really made a difference. The hash brown casserole was also fantastic and tied the whole meal together. My brother ordered the fried chicken biscuit and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Although our server was clearly very busy, the restaurant had a great team approach. Other staff members checked on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had everything we needed, so we never felt neglected. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, friendly hospitality, and excellent teamwork. I would definitely recommend Phoebe's Diner if you're looking for a satisfying breakfast or brunch in Austin.
If you're looking for a solid brunch spot with something on the menu for everyone, this is it! I love the sweet and savory options. They're both so creative and the portions are huge. Definitely start off with one of their appetizers. We were deciding between the tots and cornbread and opted for the cornbread. I liked that it came with 3 different spreads! The cornbread itself was well baked and sweet. The flapjacks were cooked good and fruit was very generous. The star of the show was definitely the chorizo hash. I loved how healthy and tasty it was! Slightly spicy but not too bad. Service was friendly and prompt. Food came out super fast as well.
My partner loves American diners. I found Phoebe's Diner on Yelp. We walked in and immediately felt at ease because the decor had a bio-filik, farm-chic vibe. My favorite part was that the restaurant was really clean, and we were seated right away. We looked at the menu, which offered many options. We ordered El Chango because it was on the seasonal menu, along with the green chorizo hash. The El Chango was like a cheeky monkey with a Scotch egg on a bed of avocado verde salsa. My partner really liked it because it was small enough to feel satisfying before lunch, and my chorizo hash was really good. It was healthier than I expected. I asked for the masa balls on the side and the cheese to be served separately. My meal was so well balanced that I was excited to eat it and look forward to ordering it again.
My wife and I came here for Sunday Brunch and really enjoyed our time here. I ordered the Migas and she ordered the shrimp and grits. My Migas were outstanding! I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, but the crispy masa cakes were the real stars of the show. I also had to order some pancakes and they were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, also they were amazing! My wife said that was the best shrimp and grits she's ever had and the bartenders who served us were so very nice. They gave us some excellent recommendations and we will definitely be back.

Once I got through the place was really nice, really clean and it was extremely packed.We waited about five minutes for a table, and they sat us down at four cedar. The server was really helpful.Brought us a menu.Everything looked pretty good.I decided to order the brisket burrito.It looked pretty good and he recommended it. I'm gonna start off by saying I got my meal about 10 minutes later. The potatoes were excellent loved. Em didn't have any complaints about Em. They tasted awesome. They were great now. On the other hand the burrito, not so much. The burrito was soggy, something was off with the meat. It tasted kind of bitter. I don't know if it was because of the barbecue sauce or what I ate about.Half of it before I couldn't eat it anymore. And I tossed it the other half. I was extremely disappointed with the meal.I paid about twenty four twenty five dollars.I believe for the meal and had to throw half of it away.Because it just didn't taste right.I didn't wanna make an issue. It looked phenomenal, just didn't taste like that. The other gripe I had was, I took a bite out of some of the burrito and noticed that it was a big glob of fat. Instead of actual brisket meat I probably should have stuck with the regular, which would have been bacon and eggs.But decided to try that.Because the way to recommended it sad I didn't stay with the eggs and bacon. Brisket burrito 2 outa 10 thats being generous Potatoes 5 outa 10 Wait staff 7 outa 10 he was slammed with tables Would I come back probably 50/50 chance to try the eggs and bacon In the picture it looks tasty but in actuality not so much
Great experience at Phoebe's Diner! The Cheeky Monkey and Brisket Benny were both savory and delicious. A huge standout was the French Toast,it tasted lovely and reminded me almost of a funnel cake! If you love a bold cup of coffee, the Café du Monde is a must-order. The Nitrochata was okay but a bit too mellow for my taste. Despite it being very busy, the staff was super friendly and kept things moving. I'll definitely be back!
This spot has amazing food and the flavors are awesome! Service was fast and friendly and we wish we had more time to come back for more! Keep up the great work guys! Place is clean and they give you stuff for your kids to do before the food comes!
Everything about Phoebe's is right...the location, the people, the food and of course family...wife and her sister eat here about every other month and the boys were invited this round...I have tried several menu items in the past but this one stood out..direct from the Menu! Poblano pepper stuffed with scrambled eggs and smoked cheddar, coated in crushed red corn tortilla chips and panko breadcrumbs, served over ranchero sauce, topped with creme fraiche, cotija cheese and cilantro, red potatoes...this was an epic dish...the crunch on the outside was fantastic...eggs fluffy and delicious...sauce made for a perfect bite...it will definitely be a challenge Not to order this again next visit!
If you have been to their location off of Oltorf, identical menus as expected. However, this location has a much larger seating capacity and more abundant parking. The food is delicious as usual. I went with my usual Big Bacon and Eggs. They had some specials going on, but I couldn't pass up on the big slab of bacon. Service seemed kind of busy due to the amount of people here. The ambiance of the facility is really nice. It felt very open and a lot of lighting with all the windows. The staff here are friendly as their other location.

Side of Bacon: This isn't just bacon. It is a thick-cut, crispy masterpiece. Pretty sure it's the best bacon in Austin, if not the entire universe. Pro tip: Get on their Yelp Waitlist early unless you enjoy staring longingly through the window at strangers eating your future meal. 10/10 will be back to eat my weight in pork products.
Took a trip to Austin to see our son and asked him about this place. His response, "I've always wanted to try it, but it always has a line out the door." Well, we lucked out - apparently it's dead in Austin during the holidays. I had looked at the wrong location online and thought they had outdoor seating, so we brought the pup along, but when we arrived, I realized the mistake I made. I thought we'd have to get back in the Uber and find something else, but nope - bring that cute fella inside was offered! Score - dog friendly indeed! Service was excellent - drinks were never empty, and empty dishes were picked up quickly. Ensuring our food was to our satisfaction also occurred. The food was great! We opted to share the cornbread muffins to start. I opted for the fried chicken and grits. I loved the maple hot sauce - perfect balance of sweet heat. The pickled chilis were also a great addition to have some acid balance. The chicken was moist with a delightfully crispy breading, and the grits were perfect. Maybe a touch too much salt, but that's being nitpicky. I'd for sure come here again!

The diner is a cute little spot nicely decorated for Christmas and the staff was very nice and accommodating. When I called to make sure they were open, the hostess was very upbeat and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and checking to make sure we were taken care of. The food is very fulfilling with a unique take on their dishes. The shrimp and grits were very good but it had a lot of oils and butter. When transferring it to my to-go box, I had to drain the oils on the plate, so if you're on any kind of diet, you'll be set back for weeks lol but it's completely worth it! My boyfriend got the Brisket Benny, which looked really good but he wasn't a fan-yet ate it all lol. I tried the hash brown casserole and didn't really like it. I couldn't quite figure out what ingredient it had that made it have a weird herb taste to it but I would not recommend it and suggest another side. Overall it was a great experience as a brunch spot on our way home.

Our first visit to Phoebe's Diner definitely won't be our last! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with their friendly service and warm hospitality. The restaurant was spotless, and even the restroom was exceptionally clean, which says a lot about the pride they take in their establishment. The food was absolutely worth every penny. I highly recommend the Badass Bacon and eggs, it was delicious! My daughter ordered the Smoked Turkey on a Pretzel, and she loved every bite. We both took it to go but was happy and impressed with our meals. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend giving Phoebe's Diner a try. We can't wait to come back! Phoebe's Diner is one of my favorite breakfast spots! If you're looking for a no-frills diner with consistently great food and fast service, this is it. The servers are always incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome every time. My go-to order is the chicken and grits--it's absolutely delicious and one of the best things on the menu. Everything I've had has been fresh, flavorful, and comes out quickly, making it a great place whether you're in a hurry or just craving a good breakfast. My only real complaint is that they don't offer a pancake combo, which I'd love to see added. The side items can also be a little pricey. Even with those minor drawbacks, the quality of the food and the excellent service keep me coming back. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in town! read more

Food was a 10/10 I loved how casual and local it felt. Went on a girls brunch date and we all thought the food was amazing. Service was also great! We went on a Saturday at noon without a reservation and they sat us right away. read more

I visited the other location awhile back and couldn't wait to go again because I enjoyed it so much the first time. The food is really, really good here. I got the same exact thing I got last time but I imagine everything is good here. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance is that of a diner style. I definitely recommend stopping here. read more
Who doesn't love a good breakfast? I'm always on the search for a good eggs Benedict and drove to Phoebe's to try theirs for the 1st time. It was fantastic! Huge portion served on a biscuit instead of English muffin and the most delicious hollandaise. The ham was thick cut and did not skimp on the portion size. Enough for two! They have an appetizer called the Cheeky Monkey I just had to try. It's a hard boiled egg wrapped in hashbrown and sausage then fried! Served with cream gravy. Omg - it's a meal on its own. The grilled chicken sandwich was also a juicy surprise. It they make their own pickles which had a slight sweetness to them. I'm definitely coming back again. read more

Stopped by Phoebe's Diner while in Austin for business because I didn't want another boring hotel breakfast. Googled the best breakfast spots near me, and Phoebe's popped up. Glad it did. The menu isn't huge, but honestly that's usually a good sign -- focus on doing a smaller menu really well instead of serving 94 mediocre things and a sad waffle. I ordered the Bad Ass Bacon & Eggs plate. It came with thick-cut bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown casserole, wheat toast, and smoked salsa. Bacon - 9/10 This wasn't your average thin breakfast bacon. Thick-cut, almost pork belly style, with killer flavor and very meaty. Eggs - 9/10 Cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Simple, but done right. Hash Brown Casserole - 8/10 Different than what I expected, but in a good way. Unique flavor and a great addition to the plate. Salsa - 7/10 Very homemade style salsa with a smoky flavor. Different, but really good. Atmosphere - 9/10 Loved the vibe. Cozy atmosphere, great music, and just an overall comfortable place to sit and enjoy breakfast. If this place was closer to home, I'd eat here often. Service - 10/10 Excellent service. Christy H. was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time. The waitress was so kind and attentive. My drink didn't make it to the bottom of the glass. The environment gave a diner feel. I really enjoyed the food. The cornbread was the perfect amount of flavor and moisture. There were three spreads I could use. My favorite was the apple spread. The French toast was amazing and I got a nice size portion. I want expecting as much as I got, but now I have leftovers. read more

We loved this diner! The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful! The minute you walk through the doors, the staff is welcoming and friendly. The menu is not your ordinary breakfast diner fare -- it's soooo much better!! I loved the Phoebe Benedict and the goat's milk cheese grits. Every bite was so delicious! My husband had the best breakfast burrito (without the tortilla) -- omgosh!! And the pancakes...Mmmmmm!! If you're in Austin and looking for a great breakfast or brunch, head on over to Phoebe's for an awesome breakfast and service with a smile!! read more
Good breakfast and mimosas! We always wanted to try this place and decided to on a Sunday morning. Luckily, you can add yourself to a waitlist and we waited less than 5 mins once we arrived. It was a packed restaurant with people waiting in line outside. The mimosas was delicious. My husband ordered the Thai iced tea which was also good. I ordered the badass bacon and eggs, and my husband ordered phoebe's benedict. Both were ok! The only downside on both was the hash brown casserole. It was too oniony and mushy for our liking. The service was good and the joke book provided once seated was a nice touch. read more
I was craving a simple breakfast: eggs, biscuits, etc. The scrambled eggs were okay, the biscuit was okay, the grits with goat cheese was not even close to what I was hoping for. Did not taste like corn or grits. Not to my taste at all. Maybe others like this style grits, but it missed the mark for me. read more

I loved this place! I went on a Sunday and surprisingly the wait time went by pretty fast. The inside is very cute and they had a wide selection on the menu, both breakfast and lunch items. I got the fried chicken biscuit sandwich and it was amazing!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the prices were expensive but the food was definitely great. read more

Service- Went here on a Thursday Morning around 10:45am. Plenty of open seating so zero wait time.The server was friendly and accommodating. Ambiance- Clean and spacious. Plenty of things on the walls to love at and a handful of tv screens. Food- Ordered the Brisket Benny. Very underwhelming. The egg was cooked well with a nice hard fried bottom yet still very yolky. The brisket on the other hand was bland and tasted like stewed chuck roast. The brisket also had a huge layer of silver skin which was left of which seems like a huge over sight. The BBQ Sauce was so vinegar heavy that I ended up no finishing the dish and instead left still slightly hungry. Overall I don't think I would return. read more
This was my first visit to Phoebe's. My daughter, her roommate, and my grandson had brunch here on a recent Saturday. I'm glad we arrived before 10:30 for brunch; the place got really full soon after. The atmosphere is definitely that of a diner. It was quite noisy when full, so not great for conversation, especially at tables in the middle. There are a few booths down one side that likely would be quieter. The food was very innovative for a diner. Be sure to check out the menu before you go. The combinations of eggs with veggies were unique and tasty. There are a lot of gluten-free options. Pricing looks high at first glance but is justified by both the quality and quantity. Service was very good, and surprisingly fast. I would definitely return, but would chose a weekday and earlier arrival time. read more

Fun place for Breakfast/Brunch, with indoor and outdoor tables, visited the place around 11 am and got a table right away but place was pretty full however, service was fast and efficient. Food was tasty and generous size. Paid $40 for two plates, no drinks. There is some construction around so parking is a little tie. read more
We usually like Phoebe's - the downtown and south locations and the wait usually is 15mins+ on the weekend. It was surprising to not have to wait at all at this north location. Inside has spacious seating and nice decor for Easter. We got seated immediately and ordered brisket benny, an omlette (forget the name) and brisket burrito. My partner and sister said the brisket are too much intense with BBQ flavor that other thjngs couldnt shine through. My dish was made different from their other location and was very cheesy in the middle. I didn't love my omelette either. I wanted this to be better. Actually, I just wanted it to be good. Maybe it was an "off day" coming out of the kitchen. Sunday morning breakfast, and the place was cranking. We were seated quickly and the server was quite nice. Ordered the Badass Bacon and Eggs and Phoebe's Benedict with a side of pancakes. You have to look at the picture of the eggs and question how did that even leave the kitchen? What do you do to eggs to get that toasted result? The Benedict was untraditional and that is fin, but the biscuit or whatever the egg was sitting on had to be at least a day old. Like I said, maybe an off day. Can't see returning here and will work my way through other Austin area spots. read more
Really good food and service. Felt as thought the blood orange juice was just eh. But the brisket burrito dish was DELICIOUS! I was just looking for a highly recommended food spot for the day and this didn't fail. Lots of different menu choices to eat and drink. If in the area again I would definitely go back. read more
The food was alright. Phoebe's hash brown casserole had too much onions to be good. The bacon on the Benedict was a huge slab of boring Canadian bacon. The only thing good was the bread the Benedict was on and the egg. read more

Absolutely loved our meal at Phoebe's Diner near The Domain! The shrimp and grits were packed with flavor, and the hash brown casserole was the perfect comfort food side--crispy, creamy, and addictive. The real standout for me was the brisket burrito--tender, smoky, and generously portioned. Great vibes, friendly staff, and solid coffee too. Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu! read more

Their website still says, "Coming Soon". The free paper (Community Impact) said they were waiting to receive their liquor license & planning to open later that month in July 2022. In mid-September, Phoebe's posted on IG that they were opening…
