I was in the mood for classic diner-style breakfast, and after seeing so many great reviews, we decided to give Phoebe's Diner a try. From the moment we walked in, the hostess gave us a warm welcome, and we were seated right away. It took our server a little while to get to our table, but she arrived with waters in hand, which was appreciated. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were good, though I've definitely had better back home in Houston. For my entrée, I ordered the Badass Bacon Plate, and it absolutely hit the spot. Everything on the plate was delicious, from the thick-cut slab of bacon to the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I especially appreciated that the eggs were seasoned before cooking, something I don't often see at restaurants, and it really made a difference. The hash brown casserole was also fantastic and tied the whole meal together. My brother ordered the fried chicken biscuit and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Although our server was clearly very busy, the restaurant had a great team approach. Other staff members checked on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had everything we needed, so we never felt neglected. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, friendly hospitality, and excellent teamwork. My wife and I came here for Sunday Brunch and really enjoyed our time here. I ordered the Migas and she ordered the shrimp and grits. My Migas were outstanding! I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, but the crispy masa cakes were the real stars of the show. I also had to order some pancakes and they were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, also they were amazing! My wife said that was the best shrimp and grits she's ever had and the bartenders who served us were so very nice. So I was heading out of town going back home and my buddy called wanting to have breakfast. I looked up this location and the pictures looked pretty good. So decided to head over there and tried out. On the other hand the burrito, not so much. The burrito was soggy, something was off with the meat. It tasted kind of bitter. I don't know if it was because of the barbecue sauce or what I ate about.Half of it before I couldn't eat it anymore. And I tossed it the other half. I was extremely disappointed with the meal.I paid about twenty four twenty five dollars.I believe for the meal and had to throw half of it away.Because it just didn't taste right.I didn't wanna make an issue. If you have been to their location off of Oltorf, identical menus as expected. However, this location has a much larger seating capacity and more abundant parking. The food is delicious as usual. I went with my usual Big Bacon and Eggs. They had some specials going on, but I couldn't pass up on the big slab of bacon. Service seemed kind of busy due to the amount of people here. Took a trip to Austin to see our son and asked him about this place. His response, "I've always wanted to try it, but it always has a line out the door." Well, we lucked out - apparently it's dead in Austin during the holidays. I ordered the Bad Ass Bacon & Eggs plate. It came with thick-cut bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown casserole, wheat toast, and smoked salsa. Bacon - 9/10 This wasn't your average thin breakfast bacon. Thick-cut, almost pork belly style, with killer flavor and very meaty. Eggs - 9/10 Cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Simple, but done right. Hash Brown Casserole - 8/10 Different than what I expected, but in a good way. Unique flavor and a great addition to the plate. Salsa - 7/10 Very homemade style salsa with a smoky flavor. Different, but really good. Atmosphere - 9/10 Loved the vibe. Cozy atmosphere, great music, and just an overall comfortable place to sit and enjoy breakfast. The diner is a cute little spot nicely decorated for Christmas and the staff was very nice and accommodating. When I called to make sure they were open, the hostess was very upbeat and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and checking to make sure we were taken care of. The food is very fulfilling with a unique take on their dishes. The shrimp and grits were very good but it had a lot of oils and butter. When transferring it to my to-go box, I had to drain the oils on the plate, so if you're on any kind of diet, you'll be set back for weeks lol but it's completely worth it! My boyfriend got the Brisket Benny, which looked really good but he wasn't a fan-yet ate it all lol. I tried the hash brown casserole and didn't really like it. I couldn't quite figure out what ingredient it had that made it have a weird herb taste to it but I would not recommend it and suggest another side. Who doesn't love a good breakfast? I'm always on the search for a good eggs Benedict and drove to Phoebe's to try theirs for the 1st time. It was fantastic! Huge portion served on a biscuit instead of English muffin and the most delicious hollandaise. The ham was thick cut and did not skimp on the portion size. Enough for two! They have an appetizer called the Cheeky Monkey I just had to try. It's a hard boiled egg wrapped in hashbrown and sausage then fried! Served with cream gravy. Omg - it's a meal on its own. The food was very innovative for a diner. Be sure to check out the menu before you go. The combinations of eggs with veggies were unique and tasty. There are a lot of gluten-free options. Pricing looks high at first glance but is justified by both the quality and quantity. Service was very good, and surprisingly fast. We usually like Phoebe's - the downtown and south locations and the wait usually is 15mins+ on the weekend. It was surprising to not have to wait at all at this north location. Inside has spacious seating and nice decor for Easter. We got seated immediately and ordered brisket benny, an omlette (forget the name) and brisket burrito. My partner and sister said the brisket are too much intense with BBQ flavor that other thjngs couldnt shine through. My dish was made different from their other location and was very cheesy in the middle. I didn't love my omelette either. The portion was big, two of us couldnt finish my food - which is the usual at diners. TLDR: The food at this location is not as good as the other two but the wait is much better. read more

We were seated quickly and the server was quite nice. Ordered the Badass Bacon and Eggs and Phoebe's Benedict with a side of pancakes. You have to look at the picture of the eggs and question how did that even leave the kitchen? What do you do to eggs to get that toasted result? The Benedict was untraditional and that is fin, but the biscuit or whatever the egg was sitting on had to be at least a day old. Like I said, maybe an off day.
