Pro's: the store is beautiful. Nice finds, great selection of designers, no smell, and reasonable pricing, even on the collector's pieces. Con's: customer service. I was the 3rd customer. He never greeted me. Consistently "fixed" things near me to ensure I wasn't stealing. Purely based on looks--minority, with gym clothes on (just left Base gym). I found it humorous as a Regional Manager in retail. He did prioritize the 2 white ladies that were shopping. And I wanted to purchase 2 Chanel denim jeans--perfect for my sister and her upcoming 40th birthday. But I'll support another small business. I can't spend money at a store that picks and chooses who to give great customer service to, based on appearances. I wish them much success. read more

An amazing find! I was wandering around the Grove area the other day and felt like doing some vintage shopping. I did a Yelp search and this place was at the top of the list with awesome reviews. Just a heads up... I followed the directions on my phone and they took my to the totally wrong spot. I called the shop and a really helpful woman told me exactly where I could find them. Back to the clothes! I could spend all day trying on the funky selection they've got here, and it's a seriously big one at that. The walls are literally lined ceiling to floor with pieces. I love love love shopping vintage and having those unique outfits that everyone wants to ask about, but I still dress pretty conservatively and not too "out there". I never walk into a dressing room at vintage/thrift shops with an arm full of clothes but was able to find a few pieces I was dying to try on. At the end of my trip I walked out with an amazing pair of linen pants that I am so obsessed with. They had a few stains but the women working there texted the owner and was able to take $5 off which was perfect because that is basically what dry cleaning came out to anyway. Don't forget they have a Yelp check in offer! My new beloved pants were an additional 10% off so I walked out basically glowing. I cannot wait to come back. read more

I own a photography studio and always on the lookout for vintage items to use for my Boudoir business. I was looking for a while without real luck. This shop is amazing, I found most of what I was looking for during my first visit. The store is very well organized, clean and inviting. All items are clean and well presented. The young lady that runs the store is very nice, polite and helpful. The prices are very competitive and really reasonable. At first, as I walked in, I thought it was high end store with high end prices, you never feel you are in thrift store, it really is a high end vintage\thrift without the high end prices. I've always had an appreciation for vintage clothing, having come from a theatrical background and natural curiosity of what was 'normal clothing' for people like my Grandmother, etc. when she was my age. That said, in recent years, I've really found myself coming back to vintage and resale because it is infinitely more interesting and personal to me than a blouse I can buy from Bloomingdales or Saks. That, and I hate the wasteful nature of fashion in general and refuse to buy items that aren't natural fabric anymore or good quality. Items made way back when 'were' generally made better. I've bought many fun cotton/silk shirts from the 70's, skirts from the 40/50's, a 50's mesh metal clutch, military shirts/jackets, straw handbags, vintage Dooney, jewelry and most recently, a Beaver coat I absolutely could not resist. All are in excellent condition. And you know why this place is better than anything in NY? Because it is never picked over. I lived in NYC and outer boroughs for 11 years and this store ALWAYS has interesting things at fair prices. VERY refreshing. It's not too empty or too full inside. Perfect for a little treasure hunting (which is what it's all about ultimately with vintage) but not overwhelming whatsoever. This is a vintage store that has 'modern styling' in mind - they're freaking smart. Modern styling is so important so that the old item you're wearing doesn't 'look' old. I've always wandered in here, but never purchased anything until the other day when I needed a last minute fancy-schmany dress. I loathe the mall and Macy's in general and really wanted a unique piece and Another Man's Treasure Vintage Store would be a sure bet. After picking through some teeny dress, I found it. A dazzling dress straight from the 80's that would be perfect for my upcoming Yelp Event. This place has the best inventory and you know what? They aren't over priced. I know, I know. The thought of spending more than a few bucks on used clothing sometimes is a bit bewildering, but c'mon, this is far from a Salvation Army. I ended up getting a long sleeve, to the knee sequin bluish/purple dress that I. LOVE. I mean, I can't wear it often, but boy, when I can, you know I will. It was $70 and if I checked in on my Yelp app (the one time I forget), they offered a 10% discount, so it really should have be $63. Worth every penny. I felt like a million bucks, it's one of a kind and it's a beauty. I don't think I would have said that about anything I would have bought at Macy's or the likes. Definitely head here if you're into vintage and finding unique pieces to add a bit of glitz to that wardrobe! ** Bonuses: the very cool - old French music playing in the background. - The employees are so nice and friendly. They are there to help, but not pushy. I really love the overall feel of this store. You can tell it is carefully curated as there is a cohesive feel to the store and the pieces are really unique and cool. Love the denim and leather jacket collection and the jewelry. I wish the store had some more items larger than a small/medium. I understand that it is more challenging to pull larger vintage pieces, but I don't usually have a problem finding my size in other similar stores. There is a bit of that 'exclusivity' feel when you walk in as most of the employees I've interacted with either ignore me when I'm there or they're completely engulfed in a 'regular' patron. The absolute best vintage store I've found in the NY/NJ metropolitan area (Tri-State Area? Idk, I'm still new here). Their selection is vast, representing numerous eras, and you actually find many pieces here dating back to the 30s and 40s alongside less delicate, more wearable 60s, 70s, & 80s garb. I'm mostly gobsmacked by their range: everything from band t-shirts (from cheap to collectible) to sequined gowns to turquoise jewelry. Their prices feel incredibly reasonable, especially considering they're occupying such a large space with such an impeccably curated inventory. My purchases so far include: a beautiful 1940s celluloid collar clip, 60s Wrangler jeans, a red plaid short-sleeved button up, $65 only-slightly-in-need-of-repair Gucci pumps (!), & two LPs. Just bought a vinyl record there and it was in decent condition, however when I got home I realized that under their price tag of 15 dollars was the original tag of $5.99. Next time I suggest they take off the old price tag before putting the item on the floor to sell, because now it makes me regret my purchase seeing how the item was marked up. read more

When I tell my complimenting friends that the shirt is from AMT I feel like I'm revealing one of JC's greatest hidden gems. I usually go a few times a season to check out what's new. They are always getting new stock and good items go fast! Whenever I find something that fits I get it, and I don't often leave empty handed. The owners'workers are extremely helpful - and even though we were looking for something very specific (a cigarette holder aka Audrey Hepburn style) - they were very kind to note they used to have some but they were all out. I've been a fan of AMT and of Meika and Warren since they had their shop on Brunswick back in the day. Since moving to Grove Street in the old Janam Tea Shop spot (RIP), they've done nothing but grow their business and sweeten the style of Jersey City residents in bigger and better ways. I love the fashion shows they've thrown in the middle of larger community events. This is my true go-to spot for gifts, stylish threads, and outfit-enhancing accessories. Look for lunch boxes, old television sets, and historic fashion design amid racks of sensible frocks, ties, and boots. A great little hidden treasure in Jersey City. Very eclectic collection, reasonably priced for and a very cool vibe and style about the place. The owners are great. They are Husband/Wife team. I had a chat with them one day. Everyone that works there is super friendly and again they have really cool stuff for very good prices for a vintage store in this area. My only complaint is that the place is definitely geared towards women. I would love to see more selection for men outside of the jackets. Great selection of jackets for men though. read more

Randomly walked in after having a lovely brunch at Skinner's Loft. Seriously...best vintage store that I've ever been to. I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not buying that awesome vintage dress from the 50's. The owners were super nice(she said I looked amazing in that dress. She could of been lying..maybe..probably not). The merchandise is stellar. I was looking for simple thrift store that sell usual cheap used clothes. But this store was professional vintage store and every staff was kind. They told me i could try on every item. For years I've been coming into AMT, acquiring a nice little selection of items -- a pair of leather camel-colored boots. A few vintage flannels. A string of gold and pearls for my grandmother who still wears them all of the time. Ornate, delicate Christmas balls from the 40's that adorn my Christmas tree. All of these gems from AMT. And last week, after years of trying on vintage cocktail dress after cocktail dress without any luck in finding the perfect fit, it happened. It's true what they say - you always stumble upon something when you aren't looking for it. The night before a wedding, I came in looking for something totally unrelated and ended up trying on a few dresses in a last ditch effort to find something unique for the wedding. One of them, a beautiful, lace-tiered 50's cocktail dress, looked so stunning and classic that I couldn't say no. I had finally found my perfect dress from Another Man's Treasure. Meika was beyond helpful (and thoughtful) in selecting dresses that might be a good fit. And super encouraging when I did find that perfect dress. She even hemmed it up a little before I left, which was above and beyond what I've experienced anywhere else. Now this place is a gold mine. It's got all kind of clothing from the sleek 40's to the boho era of today. -The owner is very knowledgeable on fashion and she can easily tell you anything you want to know about a certain piece. She is also planning on moving the store to a larger place so that she could combine her current store with her collection of older pieces. -The prices are spot on for what's in store. The older the piece, the more expensive it will be. Some rarer or higher brand pieces will also cost you an extra buck. -The sales rack that sways outside the store is my favourite. Pieces you find there are the rejects and probably need a little fix up. bought a fantastic 80's romper for only $10 and got it tailored to fix the loose back. It's gorgeous. It's a great store, it truly is. Some may complain about the prices, however this is VINTAGE clothing. It's been used and has withstood the test of time. I love this place! I was so sick of NYC's ridiculous prices on all things vintage. I randomly saw this place while out with a friend and...WOW. It's super cute, super affordable, and everything they have is gorgeous. The clothes are so nicely organized...it's such a small little shop, but you could truly spend hours there. The sales people are so wonderful, helpful, and stylish themselves. You can tell they put a lot of pride into their store and it makes you want to buy every item on the shelf. Although the men's selection is smaller I still walk out with at least 2 articles of clothing on almost every occasion. The super friendly couple that runs the store also makes it easy to shop as they'll chat you up as you browse. Awesome selection of clothes in almost pristine condition. The saleswomen were very friendly and one of them helped me try some things out and started to see what my tastes were and started suggesting dresses for me based on that! Even though the store is small it's chock full of so many clothes that you could spend the whole day there looking. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to look around but when I visit New Jersey again, I'll make sure to stay a while. In regards to pricing, the pricing is fair for the quality of the items. I've been shopping at Another Man's Treasure for the past five years or so, and I'll continue shopping there, for several good reasons: The selection is updated regularly. The prices are reasonable (and far below Manhattan vintage price levels). The clothing is all in very good to excellent condition, and is clearly labeled with decade, size, etc. The owners (Meika and Warren) are passionate about their business, and they work hard while always remaining friendly to customers (again, very unlike many Manhattan vintage shops).
