What a gem! The location, owner and quality of work. 10/10! The moment I made an appointment and stopped in, I didn't even consider going to any other jeweler in the area. I cannot say my that after being there a couple of minutes. My spouse and I were not acknowledge nor were we asked if we could be helped with anything. A couple of minutes later, a woman whom did not look like us, was asked 3 times if: 1) she needed help 2) was looking for something in particular 3) or was in the shop looking for a gift for someone *where we're all these questions for us? Why get my jewelry anywhere else but here? Look, I'm not even someone who wears, let alone buys, a lot of jewelry frequently. But after getting married in a pair of smokey quartz earrings from Love Locked, my affection for Kerry's carefully curated selection has only grown. I have two kids and I'm afraid of losing or breaking precious things. But if I'm going to buy it, I'd rather spend it on local artists Love Locked carries, or better yet, Kerry's custom work (which is phenomenal, by the way). I once designed a ring with her, beginning with picking out a gemstone from a series of loose stones, most of which she has traveled across the country to obtain. She's met directly with the miners themselves to source responsible materials. I settled on a beautiful bi-color tanzanite, and she added an offset accent diamond to a yellow gold band. The stone was very deep-cut and so she crafted a basket for it that allows the light in, and it's so ridiculously beautiful! We've also had a custom engraved ring for my husband made there. It took some time to come back because Kerry spent the time making sure it was perfect, including melting down the first iteration and starting over. I can't imagine anything more meticulous than painstakingly looking over the finest of details when these things are so small. My eyes would hurt! But for Kerry, it's paramount that she puts dedication into it. I've bought some of the most beautiful, comfortable earrings here that I straight-up never take out unless it's to replace them with another set from Love Locked, and they hold up well. She's also cleaned my wedding bands and engagement ring for me while I shop. But don't sleep on this place for gifts even if it's not jewelry you're looking for. Funny or thoughtful cards, skincare, leather goods, and even sustainably made children's gifts can be found here. It is a must-go place for when you need something special for someone. My years-long experience with Love Locked (and, of course, Kerry) began in 2018 when my now-husband and I stumbled across her magical shop while meandering around JC. We had been discussing where we might get our wedding bands, and I thought, "Why not stop at this cute store?" As soon as we opened the door, Kerry greeted us. We explained why we were there and her first questions weren't business related. She asked about our story, our time in JC, our baby (who was with us), and filled us in on various ring options, ranging from style/comfort/setting to cost and what would be more/less cost-effective depending on our budget. No pressure. Simply a pleasant and genuine interaction. (We both had our bands custom made by Kerry). Fast forward to today. My two girls love visiting Kerry's. It's a treat for them to look at the crystals and chat with Kerry about their recent adventures. Over the years, Kerry has been a presence in our lives in numerous ways - creating custom jewelry for me and my mom, helping me select unique gifts for coworkers, guiding my husband toward pieces that she remembers my having shown an interest in, and, most specially, becoming a friend and a valued member of my and my family's community. There truly isn't a bad word or criticism that I could bring up related to Kerry, her business, or how she conducts her business. She is kind, keen, smart, present, and listens to her customers - many of whom, from what I have observed, have become friends. She is a gem. I will say since my review my ring was fixed to its original perfect glory. Kerry and Michael were very accommodating. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the joy of wearing my wedding bands and engagement ringhas been sucked away. I am constantly checking my band for issues and now that I got my engagement ring back. The anxiety of wearing it and knowing the issues is a lot. I know a lot of people who haven't had any issues with their rings and they have been married a lot longer than me. They do fix stuff for free but... it's not exactly convenient to have to get stuff fixed and than be worried if it's not done correctly. Kerry and Michael are great.
