It reminded me of a place I used to go to in Bellflower called Midway. The only difference is they have good punk music. The beer was excellent and I must quote them on this, "no sissy drinks like an apple martini." I will forever be grateful to this pub as I discovered St. Bernardus. Only the best beer in the world and it's made by Monks. Something about the rich flavors in it made for a climatic experience. As I drank that pint, I tasted all it had to offer. It's dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It was amazing, try it and don't hesitate to go to a punk bar in Dublin, Ireland when you get a chance. Cheers!

McNeills also runs a music centre on the second floor for repairs, sales and sheet music. Once you've got the arsenal of instruments and songs down, take part (or just sit back, pint in hand) in one of the City Centre's most prolific sessions. They had a mixed selection of mainstream and micro brewery beer. No craft cider though. But they have toasties! The look and smell delicious. Full after an earlier meal, we didn't order any in this occasion. But next time... Staff were great, served with a welcoming smile. There was plenty of banter between one batman and the regulars. But Yelp calls it "No Name Bar." Late at night, this is the place to be. The music is loud, the place is hoppin', and everyone is movin' and groovin'. It's LOADS of fun, I can't express that enough - but it DOES get packed! If you are staying in Kelly's Hotel up above it, you MUST visit at least once to see what all the fuss is and why your hotel room is rattling until 2 or 3 in the morning. They have DJs playing every Friday and Saturday "from 10pm until late" as it's billed on their website. It's connected to the hotel, so if you are staying there, you can just head down the stairs to enter. From street level, use the entrance with the snail hanging above the black door with the address number of "3" on the door. It's so easy to walk past and not notice it. The entrance is JUST past the sidewalk patio for L'Gueuleton.

The candelabras, mood lighting and high, domed ceilings make this place enchantingly atmospheric, but let's not forget the practicalities. Recipe for a good night with a large group: large tables - check, cheap beer (3.40 a pint!!!) - check, pool table - check... Ok this place is a winner. And get this - they even have a foozeball table! Rad! The toilets are definitely worth a gander... many, many mirrors, and easy to get lost in after a few pints of the dark stuff. When the waitress came over she went to order a drink to which the response was cant you see I'm busy what's wrong with you going to the bar, as she turned and walked away and went back to the bar to chat with another member of staff. The girl that had been looking after us earlier I think had finished which was a shame. Needless to say we didn't stay for another drink. This would put me off going back I could understand if it was busy but service like this is not acceptable
