When my credit card company notified me of the charge, I noticed that Fairway took it upon themselves to increase the tip substantially. This wasn't a mistake. The GM refused to take the call but instead had his crew try to take the heat. HORRIBLE and COWARDLY are those in a position of pressure that can't and refuse to handle the tough situations. But just in case you're reading this to know what you're missing, I'll fill you in. I would classify Cherokee as a "Cheers"-like dining room, where everybody knows your name (dun-a-dun-a-dun-dun...etc.). The waiters and waitresses have a good rapport with the diners and are very good about knowing exactly what your "usual" is. Often, when we walk in the door, our drinks make it to the table before we sit down. The bar food is exceptional. My "usual" is the tuna melt with sweet potato fries. It's not on the menu, but as long as they have the ingredients, they'll make about anything you want. The New England clam chowder is possibly the best in the Southeast, maybe even the whole Eastern seaboard! The menu has recently been updated, so now they offer a pulled BBQ and Monte Cristo sandwich, among other new items.

The restrooms were clean for men and women. Parking is tight when the course is busy. There is handicapped parking--I've always found the pace fair and the vibe welcoming. The covered, lighted Top Tracer range is a fantastic touch for hitting balls anytime, rain or shine. The rain has been sporadic at best, so being under the cover is nice. It's not a championship course, but it's a great value (typically $24-35) for casual rounds or after‑work practice. Ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a relaxed, local play without a full‑size slog.
