Our group visited the upper canyon & had a great time. The Canyon was very busy with group(s) ahead & behind but we managed to take some group shots in the breathtaking canyon. (Shoutout to our guide, David, & Tyler, who volunteered their photography talents!) The Canyon was shaped like an A (wider where walking; narrow above); the sandy path was very fine like a find beach. The ride to/from the check-in location was a little bumpy near the canyon but took us near the entrance (as did the walk way exit). Some man-made steps after exiting the canyon but not a difficult trek for one in sneakers. Military (incl. spouse) discount. Would recommend. read more

Outstanding tour. Very well organized. The vans they use to transport are clean, comfortable and air conditioned! I saw another tour company driving in as we were leaving and they were open jeeps. Which can be nice, but not when it's hot out and kicking up the dust and sand along the trails. The canyon itself is, of course, stunning. A few tips. Wear closed toe shoes. Walking to and into the canyon is like walking on a very powdery sandy beach. There are places you sink into it. I had sand in my sneakers and between my toes afterwards. lol. Also bring water especially during the warmer season. It does get hot out there. Be prepared to walk along some steep steps heading back to the van. If you're not used to that, go at your own pace. Well, that was fun! It was worth the trip from Phoenix to visit Page, Az. Page itself has a rich Navajo culture and is a beautiful area. Antelope Slot Canyon Tours was a fun and beautiful experience. When we arrived they had their 4 wheel drive vans lined up. I wondered why they needed 4 wheel drives. Not only do you get a great walking tour of the canyon, but you get a fun ride out to the site. The route to the canyon is through a wash where flood waters flow. It was bumpy and a thrill. The guided tour was about a 30 minute walk through with lots of photos taken by our guide. It was like nothing I had seen before. It looked more like a cavern than a canyon, except for the narrow opening at the top. At the exit of the canyon, our guide played an Indian flute which nicely added to the experience. Visiting Lower Antelope Canyon was an unforgettable experience absolutely breathtaking from start to finish! The natural rock formations, colors, and light beams made it feel like walking through a dream. It's amazing how the sunlight hits the walls at different angles, creating the most stunning photo opportunities. Important note: you must arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled tour. We were traveling from the Grand Canyon and didn't realize we lost an hour crossing into a different time zone. Luckily, when we called ahead, the staff was incredibly kind and understanding they managed to get us right into our scheduled tour despite our tight arrival. The road to the canyon was a bit bumpy, but honestly, that added to the fun! The full tour lasted about 1.5 hours. Tips are appreciated and well deserved. Our guide was fantastic I don't recall his name , but not only did he share great info, but he also helped adjust our camera settings, suggested the best angles, and took several beautiful group photos for us. Some of our best pictures from the trip came from his direction. A heads-up: no purses, backpacks, or personal belongings are allowed inside the canyon only water bottles or clear bags. It's a short tour, so nothing more is really needed. We were told some visitors have tried to leave ashes in the canyon, which is why the rules have gotten strict. This was easily one of the most memorable experiences for our family, and we're so grateful we made it. If you're anywhere near Page, AZ, don't miss this! read more

Antelope Canyon is a MUST SEE!!! It is located on Navajo Nation land and is incredible. Slot canyons have been created, through millions of years of erosion, nature's forces, and every inch is INCREDIBLE. We had Nick, our Navajo Nation guide, take us through their "X Canyon" tour. There is a steep downhill and uphill grade that you'll have to traverse. So, make sure you're ready for those portions of the tour. However, there are locations where you could rest, especially on your return trip uphill. To see these slot canyons is awe inspiring. Their terracotta maze envelopes you and leaves you breathless. As you look up their 100+ foot walls, all you could think about is how long it took to create these masterpieces. What a beautiful place! I booked with this company after a friend recommended it and they did not disappoint. Their email will tell you to arrive at least 45 minutes before the departure time because everyone needs to check in and sign waivers. Waivers are send the day before the tour so you can do it in advance. Only clear bags are allowed and, obviously, there are no restrooms at the canyon and they warn everyone before you depart. The vans are comfortable but the ride will be bumpy as we drove on unpaved land. Walking through the canyon was beautiful. We thought it would be more of a hike but it was all flat and easy. No need to pack lots of water unless it's really hot out (we went in April and it was perfect) and no need to bring snacks. The challenge was coming up and back out to the bus. There is a steep ramp that can be difficult for seniors or those with health issues. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. He helped every group take photos in front of notable markings and framed our phones so we could capture everything. The Dragon's Eye was probably my favorite! There are five different tour companies that go through the canyon so it is very important to stay together and not throw the pace off for everyone else. read more

The worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We clearly booked for 4 people, yet were charged for 5 tickets. The only reason we found out was because of the overcharge on our credit card. Instead of helping, they hid behind their policy and refused to refund the extra ticket. Every follow-up was met with attitude, zero accountability, and responses like "I don't know." We took a tour of Upper Antelope Canyon with Letitia. Seniors can visit with caution. They charge an extra $10 dollars per ticket as cancellation assurance. Also, prices are higher for certain morning hours when you can see the sun rays in the Canyon. I paid more, but on the day we visited, it was cloudy, so check the weather before you pay. Leticia was very nice and well-infomed. We loved to hear about her grandmother, her culture and local beliefs about the area and the Canyon. The ride was short but very bumpy. I was worried about my senior mother, but the bus seats were soft and we sat on the front which is less bumpy, so all went well. The canyon itself is mysterious and awe inspiring! Definitely worth the price! Inside, our guide showed us how to optimize our phone settings for better pictures, she also kindly took our pictures. The way back is not through the tunnel. Be mindful of that if you have senior with mobility issues. I saw that they did let a couple of seniors go back the same way, but for the majority the way back consists of: 1. Going up a sandy hill to get to the ramps. The sand is deep and soft. 2. Climbing a large number of metal stairs. The stairs have railings. 3. Walking some distance over the hill to get to another set of ramps and stairs this time downward. 4. Some of the ramps do not have stairs so be careful. I think the process of getting back to the bus took at least 15 -20 minutes. Booked the tour a bit late and as there are multiple companies for upper antelope canyon and all of them sound the similar, ended up going with this one. Another selling point was that they had enclosed vans for transport as compared to other companies who have open style in back of pickup trucks. Start to finish is about 1.5 hr including driving to and from, spending a part of driving off road on sands, which heads up may be bumpy (the vans were nice as no dust flying in your face). However, due to the popularity of upper canyon and having to share time slots between companies, my tour guide was very strict on being on time and came across as impatient, which rendered him telling us over and over to move along and while what felt like not having enough time to take pictures. He pointed out interesting rock formations along the way which was nice, but overall felt really rushed and no time to enjoy. Searching Trip Adviser, I found "Antelope Slot Canyon Tours by Chief Tsosie"; it had good reviews, so I booked it. The reservations part was easy online. When we got to their business front, I was very pleased with the easy check-in process; they obviously know what they're doing. Several tour names gather their guests and roll out of this parking lot area. Seven hotel shuttle buses with groups of people for our 10:30 tour time. You pile in, they drive about 10-15 minutes out to the canyons, park, and walk to the caves. Reminder, this is all on Navajo land not national park territory. Amar was a fantastic guide! He's lived in Page since '74 when his family moved here to work at the power plant, so he shared a lot of tidbits of local knowledge along with the history of the land and Navajo Indians. Side bar: Since these slots are on Navajo land, your ticket purchase is going direct to their local economy; there's no national park rangers giving these tours, just the local natives, so I'm elated we supported this tribal nation. A few things to take into consideration: - This tour was for the UPPER sits, which are wider at the basin and get skinnier towers the sky; the LOWER canyon slots are skinner at the bottom and open/spread apart toward the sky. - make sure you got to the restroom before entering the slots, there's nothing until you get back to the tour offices. - If you go during the hotter months, take water; you walk down toward the canyon base to tart, but have to walk up sand, stone and ramp to get back to your tour bus at the end, so hydrate! - if you enjoy your tour guide TIP THEM! This was a mind blowing experience. It's exclusive through the Navajo. You need to sign up and tours are limited. They cost $150 per person you need to stay with your guide in a small group. They drive you through an extremely hot sand desert in a caravan. Walking through the canyon is very level and extremely easy. Out of the canyon requires up-and-down steps in the hot sun. So many amazing photo ops. If given the opportunity, everyone should do this once in their lifetime, have never seen anything like it. The geology behind it is fascinating. read more

We loved the upper antelope canyon tour more than the LAC because of our guide Clint. Clint took great pictures and showed my boys cool tricks to try with the sand. Also the upper canyon allows videos but the lower doesn't for some copyright reason. We were grateful for having a covered /air conditioned (albeit weak) van ride versus being in an open van in the heat and dust. Another of the great tours in Page, this one of the Upper Antelope Canyon. You start off at the company site on Lake Powel Blvd. where you board a 12 person van that is very comfortable. The driver, who is the tour guide and a native American, tells everyone to be sure to put on their seat belts. Once you get to the site, the road turns to sandy soil and that is where the ride begins. For about 3 miles you are bounced (often times off of your seat) and from side to side, in a wild ride, that will probably not be for some. Once at the canyon entrence (that is also quite a hike) you enter into a wonderous, amazing place. The guide will point out places to take the best photos and relate historical information and other interesting details about the area. The hike takes about 50 minutes. Then you have to hike back to the vehicle and again go through the bumpy ride back to home base. It is a great tour and all who venture to Page should go on it. read more

We did this tour earlier this week for Upper Antelope Canyon and these folks are just great. Our tour guide was engaging, super helpful with photos and clearly loved her job (which just makes it more fun for visitors). Things to know before you go: * This outfit has air conditioned vehicles and if you're visiting when it's hot, you absolutely want that. * The drivers have a lot of fun on the sandy roads into the canyon so be prepared. * You will be VERY DIRTY. We were peppered with sand falling down on us and in retrospect, a mask is a great thing to have. * Let the guides help you with photos. They know what they're doing. * The tour is a very slow walk with groups ahead of and behind you. * The walk through the canyon is very easy but getting out is where it gets a little tougher. There's a steep climb up to a ramp and then many stairs down to the parking lot. I am 6 and 11 months post total knee replacements and managed it. Definitely a great tour and if you hang out near the guide, you'll hear lots of interesting stories. read more

Upper Antelope is beautiful, and having toured the spectacular lower canyon earlier in the day, both are worth visiting. Though similar, they are a completely different otherworldly experience. No ladders in Upper Antelope, so just about anybody can tour it. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours, including the drive to and from the canyon. The vehicles pull up right to the canyon entrance, and you walk right in. At the canyon exit, there are a series of stairs you ascend, then a short hike on a dirt path, then you decend a series of stairs to the entrance and the vehicles. I think our guide was Joe. He was cool and showed us how to capture great pictures and even showed us how to adjust the setting on our phones to get the best colors. We were the last group of the day, so we took our time. Mario was our guide on a May 16th visit to Antelope Canyon. He did an exceptional job, giving us history, culture, geological information and even a performance with his flute at the end. The canyon was beautiful -- just like the pictures in National Geographic. Mario gave each tour participant the benefit of his photography skills, using our cameras and his lighting, which was very much appreciated. This company has air conditioned busses that provide shelter from the fine, orange dust on the bumpy roads leading to the canyon entrance. Expect to be in a lot of company -- there were maybe 15 tour busses lined up at the site. Well worth the investment to see a natural wonder. Antelope Canyon is a destination I've wanted to visit my entire life! Well... that may be a slight overstatement. It has been near the top of my list of places to visit since I first discovered its existence in my 30's. What I didn't know until actually booking a trip was that there is more than one!!! While ANTELOPE CANYON itself is considered just ONE CANYON and extends approximately 30 miles in length, it is broken up into different sections, each with its own unique personality. Our Navajo-born tour guide referred to the canyons as either: A-framed (wider at the canyon floor) H-framed (fairly consistent in width top to bottom) or V-framed (wider at the top and narrow at the floor) There are a dozen sections of Antelope Canyon, but the most popular toured sections of the canyon are Upper, Lower, Secret & Canyon X. We chose to tour UPPER ANTELOPE CANYON. [ THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ] Our tour started at Chief Tsosie Trading Post on Lake Powell Blvd @ 8:15am with check-in and a shuttle bus drive to the canyon entrance. There were several shuttles from Chief Tsosie (5 in total) plus another set of shuttle buses from two other tour companies. Each shuttles passengers entered separately as a single group to avoid bottlenecking. While this was very helpful, each held a considerable amount of people, so taking pictures & trying to soak in the beauty of the space felt rushed. You had only seconds to take a pic & keep it moving so other groups following could enjoy. We happened to be the last Chief Tsosie group to enter the canyon, so we lingered just a tad longer than the others. But you could see the stress our delay caused our guide as he quick-stepped it back to the shuttle. The Upper Canyon was as beautiful as I had hoped. Most likely if you have seen photos of Antelope Canyon, it was of the upper canyon, which is said to be the most photographed. A photo that sold for 6.5 million dollars in 2014 was of a beam of light penetrating Upper Antelope Canyon. However, what I did not know when booking my tour was the light beams you see in many photos are BEST SEEN at certain times of the day as well as certain times of the year. Our early April 8am tour produced no light beams. So if that is your desire, it is better to tour in the summer months around the noon hour (or so we were told). The hike through Upper Antelope Canyon is fairly flat with no ladders, so it is friendly to most anyone who can walk. However, the climb up and over the canyon back to the shuttles requires some stamina. It's made easier with metal grated ramps to get you out of the canyon, but then after a short walk above the canyon you come upon a series of steps leading you back down to the shuttles. The walk through the canyon itself is approx 660 feet from the shuttles to the canyon exit, but going up and over the canyon back to the shuttles adds another 1800 feet or so making the tour about a half mile in length total. Our shuttle ride to the canyon was bumpy, but not jarring. We passed several cows along the way, which was kinda weird! AFTERWARDS we also visited Horseshoe Bend, Marble Canyon & ate @ Grand Canyon Brewery in Page (not included in tour). [ OUR GUIDE ] Lydell was very informative and a wonderful photographer, giving everyone excellent tips on making the most of their phone cameras in low light. He pointed out named formations such as JAWS, ANGEL WINGS and the HEART + the best spots for pics. Part of his conversation alerted me to something I didn't really know: Navajo people do not consider themselves Americans & have their own President and Capital. The Navajo Nation is the largest of all the Native-American reservations. One of the the other Navajo Guides played a flute while inside the canyon, which was pretty awesome! [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] While it was a beautiful experience, I think we would have better enjoyed a private tour for a little more money. I've seen couples on YouTube whom had the entire canyon to themselves for a half hour and could walk back and forth as much as they wanted. We were not allowed to backtrack once we left an area. Most importantly, a private tour would allow more time to soak it all in. I waited 20 years to visit and somehow I didn't expect to be in such a rush through it. In retrospect I would have probably preferred Canyon X or Secret Canyon because they are both longer & less populated. FYI - To be honest, I was shocked hiking the canyon cost ANY money at all! I discovered Wire Pass @ Buckskin Gulch AFTER I booked my tour, which is said to be every bit as spectacular as Antelope Canyon but without the required tour costs. It's a 5.6 mile out and back hike that will likely get your feet wet and requires checking with the weather. Any rain in the forecast makes it a dangerous hike & the 8 mile unpaved road to the trailhead can sometimes be unpassable. It is highest priority for my next visit to the area. By law to get to Antelope Canyon, you have to go through a tour company. You can find many of the tour companies in the city but Advance reservations recommended. I followed everyone's recommendations and reserve a tour around late morning early afternoon . The tour companies are managed by the Indian reservations. I chose Slot Canyon Tours for Lower Antelope and they'll take you on a mini bus to the entrance of the canyon, guide you through and bring you back. They'll also give you a brief history of the canyon. You'll have time to walk around and take pictures, but it's pretty much a guided tour by time slots.. Wear comfortable shoes because there's some hiking involved, but the breathtaking views are worth it. I would recommend the lower antelope canyon if you only have time to do one, but the upper Canyon tour also has wonderful views. Also recommend that you look at how to configure your phone to take the best quality pictures under the minimum lighting within the walls of the canyon. read more

Very disappointed. We booked last minute and were so excited to come, but then learned that the weather advisory may close the road back to where we are staying. Not being from the area it was better to cancel than potentially miss our flight home in case of a road closure. It was less than 24 hours to cancel (as the weather is, you know, weather) and could only be given back a gift card. "I'm not the one who booked, you are. You read the terms" was the response I got when I asked if there was anything that could be done. Now I know I should've just not shown up, and if the weather cancelled the trip I would have just been refunded. Maybe it would have been great. Unfortunately I won't know until my next trip to Page. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Arizona. When we showed up at our designated time, we were organized into groups, and we ended up with an awesome guide, Leland Yellowhorse. There were 10 in my group. We rode in a nice, clean, spacious van to the upper Antelope Canyon (about 15 minutes). Leland purposely hung back so that we could be the last group of our time slot. That way we could spend more time taking pictures and exploring, without another group behind us. The canyon is breathtaking. Pictures do not do it justice. Leland gave us the history of the canyon, the geological reason it looks the way it does, and how its popularity grew (um.. Britney filmed a video in there). Leland is also a professional photographer, so he helped us get the best angles and lighting. He also helped take pictures of us that were amazing. Because the tour is guided, you can't really wander on your own. We are also required to wear masks throughout the tour, which I understand and support. But it's a bummer that all the pics of us are in masks. Oh well. The entire tour through the canyon is about 1/4 mile maybe. We probably spent a good 45 minutes in there. After you exit the canyon, you climbs these stairs and walk along the top of the canyon that you just toured. Really cool to see the canyon from the inside and the outside. There are 2 Antelope canyons, the upper and the lower. They are a few miles apart. The upper canyon is shaped like an A, so there's more room to walk around but less light coming in. The lower canyon is like a V, so the bottom is tricky to get around but more light coming in. I can't recommend one over the other since I've only visited the upper, but I highly recommend this tour company. And request Leland if you can. read more

I would say the way to go is to book through Antelope Slot Canyon Tours directly on their website for the easiest experience compared to overcharged third party websites. It was really easy to call to reschedule for a earlier time slot for my family too. Our tour guide Leonard was amazing. He had wonderful stories and spot on descriptions of the the canyon. He was so kind to take the time in taking the best shots for each member of our party with our own cameras. He also played the flute for us. Not only was he the perfect guide in explaining the beauty of the canyon , but he went above and beyond. He was so kind to help my handicapped mom back to a easier route. We were so lucky to have him as our guide. I'll never forget this marvelous place and the kindness of Leonard. I hope when I do come back he'll still be there! read more
