I booked online about a week in advance but accidentally selected the wrong time. After a little phone and email tag, their team quickly helped me switch to my preferred slot. The day before our tour, Julia called to let us know strong headwinds were expected and asked if we wanted to adjust our time. We already had a different morning tour scheduled, and they were incredibly accommodating with our plans. At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. He also shared helpful paddling tips along the way. The entire tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. This was such a cool experience! We had the best guide John who was an absolute gem! Our group was about 6 people all varying in age and fitness level. Our group completed the kayak and hike which were very much worth it! We needed slight accommodations and Sid and John were reassuring and supportive for both my mom and I. This tour is really for everyone and I can't recommend this tour company and John enough. Because we traveled during off season, we had the entire lake and trail to ourselves. John left much time for us to take cool pictures and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure to engage with each person in the group and was successful in getting the more shy individuals to step out of their comfort zones. John and Sid (the other employee) made this tour worth it. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. You will have to walk through water to get on and off of the boat. Do not let your size and fitness level deter you from this tour. I had an amazing four hours of guided kayaking tour through the antelope canyon. Antelope Canyon is gorgeous, and kayaking through the calm canyon was very much fun and relaxing. The tour started with handing out dry bag, dry box, life jacket, and water if you didn't to pack enough. I had my own dry bag and left valuable at the hotel. Once all were situated, we walked to the ramp and got a quick lecture on kayaking. Five minutes after we all started, they made sure we can handle this for the next four hours and this is something we wanted to do. Unfortunately one person decided this wasn't for her and one guide helped her to go back to take care of her. Due to fairly strong wind in the morning and stronger wind was expected, one guide who went back came back to join the group and another guide that was on stand by also joined. Total of four guides helped us through the group of 12 customers to ensure safety. Although we didn't need that many guides in the end but it was nice to see they care about safety and increased the number of guides in anticipation of very strong wind. Once entered the Antelope Canyon from the Lake Powell, wind became very calm and water was nice and calm as well. I was afraid of kayaking for four hours but it ended up being very easy and not much physically challenging. Quality of experience also depends on other customers in the group. We were fortunate that majority of customers in our group were pretty strong and kept up a good pace. Quick swim by the Marine at the end was very refreshing as well. All four guides were professional and very well experienced. They were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend them for kayaking tour at the Lake Powell. read more

We recently booked the "Kayak and Hiking Tour" of Antelope Canyon through Hidden Canyon Kayak and I cannot recommend this experience enough. If you are near Page for an afternoon and do nothing else, you must book this tour. Hidden Canyon Kayak makes the experience easy with plenty of guidance on what to bring, how to dress, what to expect and where to be. Where we really got lucky is with our tour guide, Jon. Jon's passion for nature, the outdoors, and hospitality is undeniable. We were fortunate enough to have a private tour with Jon because there was nobody else signed up for the time slot we chose, so we got to interact with him much more than I would have expected. He shared all sorts of knowledge about how Lake Powell came to be, the geology of Antelope Canyon, information about the wildlife that we could hope to see, and ideas for things to do in Arizona. Jon consistently made sure we were comfortable while kayaking and hiking, he had all of the supplies we could ever need (towels, water bottles, first aid, snacks, etc.), and offered to take pictures at every turn. Sure, you can rent a kayak and paddle around yourself - but having Jon as our guide made the experience significantly better than it would have been on our own. Awesome way to see Antelope Canyon. Our tour guides Anthony and Taylor were spectacular! They showed us how to paddle and guided us through the canyon. It was easy to pick up the technique for a 2 person kayak. We ended up paddling ~6.5 miles in the wind during 100+ weather which required some effort but was definitely worth it. I'd recommend bringing plenty of water, brimmed hat, sunglasses, long sleeve shirt, and sport sandals. Once on the water, we were much cooler in the 100+ weather. This kayaking tour ended up being a much better way to see antelope canyon than the lower canyon walking tours. Less crowded, more time to see the canyon, less rushed, better picture! I had a great morning kayaking with Hidden Canyon Kayak. Our guide, Craig, was so nice and made the trip fun and memorable. He was also very knowledgeable and gave us some info about the canyon, along with suggestions for other things to do while in the area. We did the kayaking tour through Antelope Canyon (the other option for half-day tours is kayaking Lone Rock). We started at Antelope Point Marina, and started kayaking through an open part of Lake Powell before kayaking through the canyon. We kayaked about two miles, reached the end of the water, and then were able to walk out and tie fly walk through some parts of the canyon before kayaking back. We had the option of also doing some cliff jumping, but the water was still pretty cold when we were there (April) so we opted out of that. Antelope Canyon is a beautiful place, and kayaking was a great way to see it. The water is generally pretty calm unless boats come by and create waves (which are also fun to kayak through)! The only thing was that I thought the price was steep ($90 for a half day tour per adult). read more

Booked a tour with this company for Memorial Day weekend a month in advance. Was sent an email with instructions for time/location to meet. Our group arrived and we were completely stood up. No one ever showed up to the office or answered any emails/phone calls. Our group was so disheartened since this was the sole purpose of making the trip up to Page. To top it off, this company has yet to return calls to refund the $750 they collected from us and we are having to go through our bank to dispute the charges. What a nightmare! Ok so let's start this off with saying Kale and Keagan were AMAZING. If you want guides these are the 2 you hope you get. I paired myself with my little 9 year old. Super friendly and thorough starting out. They explain everything so you do not have questions. FYI bring sunscreen, bathing suit, and shoes you don't care about (the sand gets everywhere). Well Kale noticed me struggling getting my 9 year old to row the correct way. I asked him if me and her could go back because this was just going to be too much. He then took his time and sit of patience and strength and ended up towing me and my little one. I can't imagine how tired that man was but he made sure my daughter had the time of her life. This was the only part of our trip she was so excited for. He made it fun for her and even taught her a couple things. He then went above and beyond as to recommend better places to visit during our week roadtrip. This was my first time doing something like this and Kale was by far the best guide I've had in any tour I've ever done. This company needs to understand whT they have in this guide. Our guides were friendly, informative about the area, and paid attention to safety when there were other boats around. We have some paddling experience, but even beginners can do this tour as the pace is very relaxed and focused on enjoying the natural beauty of the canyon. We're going back in the fall, cannot wait! As much as I would've loved to experience this trip, it was cancelled by the company due to high winds. They offered to reschedule my trip or provide a refund. Unfortunately, since I'm not from the area I had my days booked with other trips so I opted for a refund hoping to revisit another time. It is now almost August and my trip was planned for early May. No refund and correspondence has stopped (on their end). I'd urge you to research other providers before using their services. Poor business and customer service. My understanding is that it can get pretty windy in that area often so it's likely you too may run into a cancellation. I hate to say it, but it seems like this is a trend with this company based off of the reviews. I was really looking forward to this, but will go with a different company/owners next trip. read more

Hands down, the best customer service and overall the most understanding people to do business with! Super easy to find on the local town of Page, AZ. Spoke to Lisa and Ashley and they got me squared right away. They explained everything with no rush and gave local recommendations to the town. As a first timer to the lake, my partner and I did the mistake to start kayaking from the Wahweap Marina (BIG MISTAKE!!) to the Antelope Canyon and man did we regret it!! lol Please, please, please start your kayaking from where they recommend, the Antelope Point Launch!! We ended up doing a 20 mile (9 hour!) kayak trip around the entire Antelope Island! We were exhausted, but feeling safe around many boats, we decided to push to the end and luckily we made it! There is a small channel short cut at the north end of the Antelope Canyon to the Wahweap Marina side of the lake. We called the kayak office (while in the middle of the water!) and explained our situation, they totally understood and so we arranged to drop off the kayak the next morning. Long story short, life happens with new kayakers and this company truly cares and listens. I never write long reviews, but they deserve all the praise and a 5 out of 5 stars. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Hands down, renting kayaks here and our paddle was the highlight of my trip to Arizona. We didn't go on a tour, but the owner went above and beyond for us. Convenient location for pick up, and they provide you with padding for transporting your kayak. Due to local regulations, they can not transport the kayaks unless you are on a tour. There is a porting service in the area though. We were able to strap the kayak to our rental, which they helped us with and provided the straps, dry bags etc and bottles of water. We didn't return on time, due to windy conditions. Both our cell phones died and we were unable to call to alert them. The owner came looking for us worried something had happened. That showed to me that they care about people and that speaks volumes about a business. When we rented the kayak at the store we were told to pick up the kayak at the end of the antelope marina dock that would be in a truck. We were also told that if it was too hard to bring the kayak back up the dock we could leave it down at the bottom by the water and return our life jackets and paddles. I believe due to the lower water level the dock no longer reached anywhere near and we had to descend our double kayak down a 40ft or so very steep rocky cliff. When we were finished with our fantastic adventure we left the kayak at the bottom. Once we climbed back up we were told by the person driving the truck with the kayaks that we needed to bring it up or we'd be charged an expensive labor fee. We informed him that we were told that we could leave it at the bottom. When asking for assistance to help bring the heavy kayak back up we were told no. Bringing the ~150lbs kayak up was a very difficult feat for two able bodied 20-something year olds. I would not rent from this service if you expect to have a pleasurable end to your lake Powell experience. read more

Fantastic day,wonderful place, great company! **Moderate level of intensity. It seems appropriate a wide age range, from children to active seniors. Dave was our tour guide along with one assistant who was super sweet and friendly (her name escapes me but she is a registered nurse). Kayaks and paddles are in good shape, and soft seats make the kayaks more comfortable. They are fully equipped with food and drinks. Our snacks included peaches, apples, granola bars, and different types of drinks and juice. Lunch was served when we returned from the hike. It was a build your own sandwhich layout composed of a variety of breads, deli meats, fresh veggies, chips, fruits, and a variety of drinks. Very good spread, thumbs up! We boarded the boat in the morning and travelled across the lake (appx 20-30mins). We docked in a little cove jumped off and ran like maniacs up and down the rock formations. Dave then called us back in and set us up with kayaks. His assistant dispensed granola bars throughout our kayaking and hiking, she also took pictures, I haven't seen the ones she took with her own camera, but that's ok bc we took about 100 pix on our own cameras. The water is still and pleasant to kayak, the hiking is AMAZING. Walking inside the narrows is truly a unique experience and I highly recommend it to everyone! The tour is a whole day trip. As someone who has never kayaked before they made it comfortable and fun for beginners with the pace​ of the tour, and making sure we were safe. These guys are amazing! I have been up at Lake Powell kayaking for the last 6 weeks in a row, and although I first rented from the marina, I learned that Hidden Canyon Kayak is the place to go! You will have to transport your kayak to the lake from their location in Page, AZ, but if that's not an issue, this is the place to go, without a doubt! The prices are unbeatable, the staff is extremely helpful, and overall they have just been great to me. I have a kayak now, but when I've been bringing friends, I always stop into Hidden Canyon Kayak to rent. They have absolutely hooked us up with some killer deals on boat rentals that are literally less than half the price of the marinas. If you go there, hopefully you'll have the fortune of working with "Canyon Dave." For the record, this is a nickname that my buddy and I just made up for Dave, but seriously--this guy is the kind of guy who you want to be renting a kayak from. I doubt that he's gone 3 days in the last twenty-five years without floating out on the lake. The dude has a sun tan that is only obtained from countless hours of adventure under the Arizona sun.
