Dr Jeff Clark assisted me today. He is honestly a great optometrist. Even though I don't need glasses, he goes into detail about the eye. He's very professional, for the first time I had a doctor walk to me to the receptionist area and thank you for being there. I would highly recommend asking for him when you go there. He will take care of you. he takes time in checking your eyes, answers any concern you may have. He's in no rush like other optometrist that want you in and out of there office and go to the next. Always an easy visit. You make your appointment. Show up. And do the simple eye tests that need to be done. With my insurance plan I get to pick new frames every year. There's a selection of glasses I can choose from covered by insurance or many many other options. I've never had any issues with my insurance plan or getting assistance from the staff. The best part is that they send you email reminders of your appointment. When i arrived i was greeted by kelly. She was very nice and made it very easy to understand my coverage. I was a patient here for several years. This year, I had travel plans and could not find the time to squeeze in an appointment for additional contacts. I asked for their assistance in the matter, but was told that they would not help me and that I would need to come in for a visit. (It had been a year since my last visit and there was no change to my vision.) I now have a new eye doctor that confirmed that he would have helped me with this matter. I used this office for about three years and finally had to find a new doctor after discovering that the blurred vision and headaches I was experiencing was due to lenses that were too strong. When I spoke with Dr. Martin about the blurred vision and head pain, prescribed stronger lenses. I consulted with another eye doctor who put me in a reduced perception and problem solved. read more

Even though there are ophthalmologists at my primary HMO - I pay cash to see Dr. Houlob, and have gone to him for years. Never a long wait. I have been going to AVOC for two years. I have worked with all the front desk girls, and I've worked with three or four different people who help you pick out glasses. Everyone is nice, helpful, patent, knowledgeable, they make using my insurance easy, and they have the best selection of glasses I've ever seen at an optometrist office. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Even a negative 5 would fit this office. The staff is horrible. The manager Ericka is unprofessional very rude to the point that she doesn't allow you to speak. My insurance called them and I don't know what they spoke about but Ericka calls me after telling me my order is canceled and their refunding me when I didn't want any of that. My insurance was just calling for inquiry. This is the most unprofessional rude place I have ever been too. I have been wearing glasses my whole life and I have never been treated with such disrespect to the point that the staff in the front were calling and hanging up on me and laughing. My insurance and friend was with me the whole time listening to them. Don't come here. Save your money and time. Just because someone is upset doesn't give you the right to refuse service. You'll take our $ in a heart beat but the min we feel concerned or worried you're quick to remove us as your patients. This is wrong on many levels especially when I need my glasses for everyday use. Please fire everyone and get a new staff there's millions of kind compassionate people who are dying for a job right now. I went and asked to speak to the doctor and they turned me away. You need a whole new staff! Really bad experience. Decent doctor but if she's allowing the staff to treat her patients bad she is just as bad as those women. Save your money. Don't come here!!!! I don't know if it's just me she doesn't like but the lady is very curt and does not smile at all. I find her extremely unfriendly and I just get overall a bad vibe. I had such a good experience here! From check in, to my exam, to selecting glasses, each person I worked with was excellent! The doctor who did my exam shared a lot of great information with me, and she was friendly and really easy to talk to. It was fun, which is generally not an adjective I would use to describe any sort of doctor appointment. There is a good selection of frames and the lady who helped me find mine was great to work with. She understood my taste right away and made great suggestions. I do wish they would carry some additional high end brands such as Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana, but I was able to find some great frames for my new glasses and sunglasses. read more

I was referred to Dr. Jerry as I have a semi-rare and complicated condition. I had been all over, including UCLA and no one was able to help me. It is unfortunate that I can ONLY wear hard "scleral" lenses, but hey, I can see. I can't even wear glasses. But Dr. Jerry took his time and explained everything. I took my family here for the first time and they seemed really nice. We all got sun glasses after our appointments and it worked out great. I order my normal everyday glasses from Zenni because they are much cheaper. I used the prescription that AVOC gave me and when I got them the right eye was blurry. I sent them back to Zenni and they sent me a new pair (I included a copy of my AVOC prescription). The new pair had the same issue. I called AVOC and told them the issue. It turned out that the prescription that they gave me was wrong and not the one used when they ordered my sunglasses. The right eye cylinder was supposed to be -0.50 but my copy had it at +0.50. I brought in the prescription and they gave me a new one. When I asked them about the $76 I was out the lady at the front said they couldn't do anything. I don't understand how you would not be willing to make a right out of your wrong. I won't be bringing my family back to this place anymore. read more
