I was not a patient but I called with an eye problem that was terrifying to me. The receptionist put Dr. Opatowsky on the phone within about a minute. He asked me to describe the issue and after I did so, he said they were booked but come in at 2:00 pm and they would squeeze me in. I was taken to a room within 10 minutes of arrival and the tech dilated my eyes. The Dr. came in shortly thereafter. His demeanor is very easy going yet reassuring. I already felt better. He was so personable but not overly so. Very easy to talk with. After completing a scan of my eyes he told me the condition was temporary, a side effect of a round of steriods I completed the day prior and would go away within a few weeks or less. What a relief. The Dr. and staff made me feel like family and took great care of me. They were all very professional yet very personable. Additionally, they accepted my insurance with the normal copay and no additional charges. I will definitely return for annual checkups. read more

Very well run comprehensive. Not just an optometrist- normal eye care and takes care of the standard glasses, contacts type stuff - but also, one of the few Ophthalmologist in the Antelope Valley. Last year, an accident destroyed my vision in my right eye-- after emergency surgery and a couple days at UCLA medical center, I needed a local ophthalmologist and found out they were few and far between. After over an hour in a waiting room in Ridgecrest, I was told I'd be there another 6+ hours- they were that unprofessional. I left Ridgecrest very frustrated and found Dr. Optowski. I'm very glad I found these people. Very professional, well run, clean and very well decorated office; All throughout the office are photos of some of the amazing aviation the AV is known for- starting with a mind blowing photo of an SR71 signed by many of the ground and flight crews of this Skunk Works marvel. Admittedly, there's lots of equipment and questions, and you don't know all the staff, but the cozy comfort of a place like this means a lot - especially to those of us "seniors". The office is beautiful, his staff is very pleasant. I made my appointment with Dr. Opatowsky based on a friend's high recommendation. Even though my appointment was with Dr O, I never saw him or met him. I was treated by an optometrist. She was very nice but it felt like bait and switch. I felt I should have been told this when I made my appointment. I thought maybe it was a fluke that this happened but the same thing happened to my friend. He was told that Dr O only comes in if there is a problem. We should have been told this when we made our appointments. We now have to find another ophthalmologist who has the time to keep his appointments. read more

Absolutley Amazing. I had that new lense put in after the removal of my cataract. In less than 15 minutes the surgery was done. I can see 150% better. Most of the staff are friendly and courteous. The doctor was amazing , but The person who brought me into the doctor's office to get gather more info from me and prep me for the optometrist /opthalmologist was not very friendly . But that was not a big deal. What bothered me the most is that HE did not wash his stinky hands before applying eyedrops into my eyes!! Talking about unsanitary and unhygienic!! I was too scared to tell him but i hope that next time, all of their employees would be trained with handwashing.
