My husband and I recently bought a house and the inspection came back stating that the existing electrical work was a safety concern and needed to be brought up to code. I wanted to wait prior to posting this review to see if Kenneth would reach back out to me regarding his cancellation. He has not. Kenneth also posted his own five-star review on 3/11/2018 so I know he is not impeded from contacting me. My experience is very similar to that of V.K. and his two-star review. I emailed Kenneth in early January and received an appointment for 1/24/2018 at 8 AM. I purchased the outlets I wanted installed and requested the day off from work. At 5 AM that morning I received a text message explaining his wife was sick and he needed to take her to the emergency room. I understand situations occur and I hope his wife is in good health. However, the lack of follow up is rather disappointing. I waited three weeks for the appointment and ultimately had to contact someone else to complete the work. Ken at Anthem Electric really saved the day for us! We had a few microwave repair people come look at our microwave and they both replaced a fuse under warranty but they never actually fixed it. I figured there was something wrong with the circuit leading to the microwave and called Ken to take a look. He figured out the problem immediately (the builders wired our circuit breaker box horribly) and he fixed it for us quickly and efficiently. Recently moved into a new house and I had 2 main issues I needed to get resolved: 1) I did not have access to the breakers in my primary panel as our property has a zero-boundary lot line so my breaker box is on my outside wall, which is only accessible from my neighbor's property 2) The people who "flipped" my house did not wire it correctly and overloaded circuits throughout the house I described my issues with 3 different electricians and had them provide quotes to me. Ken (Anthem Electric) came and conducted a thorough inspection of my house and wrote down what issues I wanted to have resolved. The solution to #1 was to install a new sub panel in my garage and connect the existing primary panel to the new sub panel. The solution to #2 involved running several new circuits to various parts of the house to ensure that each circuit was no longer overloaded. I ended up going with Anthem Electric to do the work and I was not disappointed! In addition to the above issues, I also had him put in several new surge protected outlets for my TVs, new connections in the bathroom for dual light fixtures, a connection for a ceiling fan, new electrical outlets in the bathroom, and also troubleshooting/fixing several switches or outlets that the "flipper" did not wire correctly. His price was much better than the other 2 quotes I received. He approached everything systematically and takes pride in his job. He made recommendations of several things to me that I had not thought of but I really appreciated. All the work was completed in 2 days. The new sub panel looks great and my microwave no longer dims the lights in my entire house. I had a minor issue with an electrical outlet after the job was done and Ken came on a Sunday and fixed it for me in 5 minutes. For the original inspection, both days that he performed the job, and when he came back to fix the minor issue, Ken always arrived on time or early. He is very responsive via text, phone, and email, which I really appreciated. We've done a lot of work on our house recently and our experience with Anthem has been amazing. Long story short: Call Kenneth at Anthem Electric for your electrical needs! A couple of days ago, I contacted an electrician (I won't mention names but he is on Yelp. Good reviews too and why I called him) to come out and diagnose some issues I was having with my lights; flickering and some power loss. This electrician told me what was wrong and provided me with an outrageous price quote to fix it. Plus I had to be put on his schedule some 4-5 days in the future. The next day I contacted Anthem for a second opinion regarding these issues. Kenneth from Anthem returned my text quickly and came to my house the very same day. Kenneth gave the exact same diagnosis as the first electrician and instead of scheduling me out he took care of the problem right then and there. He also was happy to educate me what he was doing and provided me some diy fixes that a layman can do to save money. Furthermore, instead of the thousands of dollars the first electrician quoted Kenneth charged me less than 10% of that. Talk about being honest in an industry (home construction/repair) that seems to be rife with shady make a buck characters. Moral of the story is: Get a second opinion or don't even bother, just call Kenneth at Anthem Electric! read more
